    A THOUSAND THANK YOUs!!!
    If the yarn was straight I probably would pull the hair up to the neck...crochet then pull hair until it hit the inside head.
    Lol. I don't know what I'm doing but you sure do...Love it!!!

      I tried to do it that way - it can be done but you need a long set of tweezers to pull the needle through because inside the head is very deep and it's difficult. That's why I go from the top down. =)

    Wow! So this is how it’s done.
    You do great work!
    Takes a lot of patience I’m sure.
    Thanks for sharing!

      Yes, I can believe that. Just the hair alone is very tedious work.
      God bless those hands of yours! 🙏

    Nicely done looks like the way the manufacture would do it to. I bought a cabbage patch doll with light purple hair on ebay did you do that one to and sold her on ebay. I like mine with purple hair alot.

      No that was not done by me. I have not sold any on Ebay. Re-rooting dolls is truly an art that I enjoy very much. Thank you for watching. =)

    Thanks for the video I'm restoring my 30 year old icecream doll for my baby girl and didn't want to keep the old yarn hair, I can see this is so time consuming and I'm willing to put the time....what type of yarn are you using? I'm not planning to curl it but I dont want it all fussy

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All yarn can fuzz unfortunately. Some more than others. I use acrylic yarn for when I do Pencil Curls. Otherwise I use 100% cotton yarn or wool, those are best to use and don't have pilling or fuzziness issues as bad as other yarns.

    Hi, can u do a tutorial on how to reroot the hair from a middle.seam in back.of head going towards front sides if head. So no loops, no ponies, just rerooting from the part in back middle if head to front. Make it of just that! No one shows how to just reroot the head!!!! Without ponies!!!!!

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure when I will be rerooting another Cabbie, this video is pretty old. I will say it's very difficult ot show how to reroot these dolls becuase you can't get the camera inside the head, and that's where most of the action happens. As far as doing one with no ponies, you have to drill in new holes very carefully into the head, as many as you think you want but give room for the yarn.

    I'm still having a hard time understanding what's going on inside the head. Is this a crochet technique. Is this something you could show outside of the head?

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The perfect way to describe what it looks like inside the head is this. It looks like a single crochet chain stitch. If you google that term you will see exactly what the inside of the head looks like. I hope this helps. =)

      mark 3:17 - 5:24 slow the speed down up on your video setting when you hover your mouse over the video and maybe you'll be able to see the stitching on the inside of the head better.

    Hi I still can't figure out hoe you make the loop bangs and around the bottom of the back of the head :( :( do you have a video showing how to do this ? I have gone through your video 's but don't see one Can you help me Please

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The loop bangs are done individually, I make a loop and tie a small tight knot and then push it through the whole. There's another way to do it by Yarn or Darning Needle but I've never been able to figure out how to do it that way.

      @@FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet Thank You !! and do they stay n tight like that or is there a way to secure them ?

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet

      They do stay in tight however as extra precaution I add a thin layer of glue on the inside of the head once I'm done, once dry I reattach the head with a zip tie.

    How do you finished the last loop?

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The last loop is automatically glued in when you do the final sealant inside the head.

    I am having trouble with needle size. The needle in the pen vise?

    • @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet
      @FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a upholstery needle and had my husband cut off the tip at an angle and then placed in in my pen vise/ or you can use a box cutter vise. I like Pen Vises because they give you different size attachments so you can get the right fit.
