It feels to me that the fashion industry is at a loss. They scramble to come up with something new each year, or even every few months but typically fail. This leads them back to trying to go back to past styles over and over.
I’m honestly so bored with “what’s in”. It’s making your everyday woman broke trying to keep up. I think the whole idea of trying to look like you’re from old money is something people need to get over. It’s such a self-defeating way to live, unless they actually do come from old money.
I love that so many styles are in right now although, I tend to wear what I like and don’t follow trends too often. I get compliments on my clothing and style everywhere I go so I’m pretty happy just doing me. I actually feel like I set the trends.
It’s not easy and it’s taken me a long time but I think rather than trying to be “on trend”, we should work on being our authentic selves and getting to the point where we really feel good about who we are and confident in our own body and with our own individual styles that actually work for us.
At almost 60 I have women of all ages, even very young girls, telling me how they love my clothes, my super long hair, or that I’m beautiful. Now, I don’t live for that but, it’s nice to know that you’re reflecting how you feel about yourself or, how at least you WANT to feel.
To be honest, walking around with a beautiful smile does more for a woman than an “on trend” outfit. Seriously. You can literally light up the world with a smile. I do this naturally and people smile back at me all day long wherever I go. It’s an amazing thing. You can’t buy that but it’s worth its weight in gold💖

Fashion is very much an art form, and if anything, to me it's fascinating to look back and see what was happening and how "we looked" and reflect. To your point, real radiance and presence comes from within and you can't buy class or style as "they" say.

The Fashion Industry focuses on emphasizing different body parts. Some years it's the legs, with mini's, other years, it's the bare back, or shoulders. Another year, it's the bust. Every 20 years, most things recycle back in style.

    • @michellestr8998

No. I dont think it's confusing at all. We have had this "quiet luxury" or various ways of describing minimalism pushed on us.... and no one has seen. print in like 15 years. Now people want bohemian look. I dont think it's in any way rebellion, just the opposite. I think its femininity and softness, and embracing the opposite of what women were told to be for so long.

Once I learned about the involvement of the fashion industry in the role of h@man/raffi@king, I was DONE. Balenciaga in particular- absolutely heinous. Its not unlike Hollywood- I no longer participate in supporting their very real agendas. Culturally, identity has been tied to brands and famous people. I know this is bummer for those who love fashion- which is not bad in itself- I consider myself an esthetic. The world we now are faced with, demands that we are conscious, critical thinkers. Being a present, caring, sober parent, neighbor and friend has never been more important. The fashion industry, modeling agencies is deeply entrenched in horrific things. Find a way to put "fashion" in its proper place. Protect our children. I will enjoy the very few minutes that my post will be visible.

@@AllinOne-l5x I do think that many of us are seeing the deeper things, and many more are going to see. We cannot continue to prioritize the wrong things. Everyone I know feels the shift and we are in for quite the ride. Excited to be alive now, but its not easy to realize how much we've been programmed- lied to. I love beauty, I appreciate people who make videos about what they know and love. However, once one knows the truth not making a decion, IS a decision.

I adore quiet luxury but I never thought it was really a trend. More a reaction to the logo excesses. However, it’s how I’ve always dressed and always will. Wearing equestrian or tennis clothes when you aren’t at the court or polo field just looks silly.

    • @LauraJdogmom
      @LauraJdogmom 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Agree that wearing a full-on equestrian or tennis ensemble looks silly unless you plan to go riding or play tennis. People who do these things for real don't wear their full kit for other activities. Although, I don't think that most real people necessarily wear head-to-toe equestrian/flamenco dancer/cowhand/tennis pro/whatever. Most will pick an element or two that they like, such as riding-style boots, and wear them with regular clothes. I think it's probably fashion editors who choose to present the head-to-toe looks that we see in magazines. They don't care that it's costumey; in fact, it's intentional, to create a fantasy for consumers to buy into.
The exception is when a person is from a culture or subculture that wears these items as ordinary clothes. Queen Elizabeth wore a barn coat because she was a very "horsey" person who visited her horses as often as she was able. There are pictures of her riding in that coat. For various reasons unrelated to my nonexistent wealth, I know quite a few horse people. They wear their Barbour coats and barn boots because that's what they have in their closets, or more likely, in the back seats of their pickups. Same with people who wear a lot of Western gear. It's costumey in New York City but perfectly normal in Dallas or Albuquerque.

My high school coat in the 90s was an olive green “barn coat” with brown corduroy collar and flannel lining from Eddie Bauer, one size too big, so to me it just fits in with the 90s resurgence in fashion. Did I live in the country? No, but it was just as practical for an active suburban teen in the Midwest. My daughter is 20 and I so regret not keeping my 90s staples because she would have loved them, but who knew?

Hey lady 👋👋!! Sounds like we are about to enter our anything goes era 😂😂 and I am here for it. My sister and I are best friends and dress absolutely nothing alike yet, it sounds like we will still be mostly on trend 😂.. In all seriousness, it seems that personal style is making a comeback and I think that's awesome. We don't need to look like everyone else... It gets monotonous quickly.. I am definitely looking forward to how everyone is styling themselves next year... And honestly, I will do what I've always done when it comes to trends and take the pieces that I'm interested in and add them to my classic wardrobe and leave the rest for everyone else so I can look at it and see how pretty they are... Thank you so much for all your hard work and awesome content!! 2025 is going to be interesting to say the least!!

Hi Mikki! Nice to hear from you 👋That’s very wise! I dont think having loud logos is what’s replacing the *obsession* with quiet luxury as much as the thought that simply wearing a neutral outfit from Zara and a token of designer luxury is “the thing” everyone is seeking. I have a pretty defined style as well but love seeing what’s happening and the energy around creativity in fashion. 😊

Barn jackets I find them drab. Boat shoes no way. Tennis skirts? I like my shoulders and hair and I have long legs but I’m not showing them in that way. No thanks. I like the quiet luxury / no logo look. I invested in 5 purses last year from mid priced luxury brands. Not giving those up. Even tho the trends are flopping every two- three years now instead of every 5-10 years doesn’t mean I’m going to overhaul my wardrobe at that pace. I focus on quality over quantity / sillouhette and colors that suit me now that I’m in my 50s and I’ve seen all this come and go😊

Dressing well and elegantly will never go out of style. I think it’s more the wearing an all tonal outfit with the status symbol of the season and calling it “trendy”. Personal style and preference is at the forefront of all of this so I think it’s a positive movement! 😊

I'm not into any of this things either. In general, I don't like clothes which require effort to look put together.
All those "I am a rich person with a hobby" garments need as much effort if you don't want to look drab as hoodies, cargo pants or fancy tracksuits.

I agree but disagree. I'm more of an outdoors type of girl. City style is lost on me most of the time. I like barn jackets. Boat shoes if worn right can be cute. Not all are as comfy as they look. I don't play tennis so I would never jump on that trend. I stay away from designer items just because most are ridiculous and not really worth it. I just wear what I feel like wearing. I don't pay attention to labels. Today I'm going for a 7 mile walk/hike. Leggings warm socks and shoes . Cozy tunic and warm jacket.

Love your channel ❤This why I’ve never followed trends. Who wants to look like everyone. Quiet Luxury will never die. What needs to die is LV bags. Those with old money don’t need you to know how much something cost or the name plastered everywhere. I think the secret to every outfit is confidence. If you wear it as if you own it (YOU make it POP!) I went to school for fashion and the cool thing when I was growing up was individuality. We added a few trendy things but it was about standing out from the crowd & creating Art. Now stores rush to have what everyone is carrying. Thrifting is my happy place. The industry tricks you to think oh Green, Burgdy, & Gray are the new it colors. When were they not beautiful colors to wear? I think the Fashion Universe has forgotten or Never cared that the majority of women are 6ft tall. Most of these oversized ridiculous coats, pants, and tops don’t look flattering on my 5’3 frame. Never let the clothes wear YOU! You wear the clothes. I do love the street style of London, France, & Italy. I love the minimalist look, with pops of color, and a dose of WOW & I think that never goes out of style. 😊

I also love a good sequin dress with a sexy slit that can show my legs and I can work them like the classic "Tootsie" dress that Dustin Hoffman wore in the film for a photo shoot. You take excellent care of your skin. I always drink a lot of water to keep my skin pure but I always feel that it can be a chore not just a given. Boho chic just doesn't work for me due to my large body frame even if I was to lose a lot of weight, it would not work. @@ZibaLennoxActually, the medical tyranny was unconstitutional and many of us chose to not wear suffocation devices.

@@liana2136 Hi again :), firstly this topic is beyond scope for my channel. During the pandemic I lived in ILLINOIS, Hawaii and Florida. Illinois and Hawaii didn't let us go anywhere without a mask. Likewise, you couldn't enter an airport without a mask. FL was completely different. I'm not making a statement about whether or not I think masks were right, I'm not a doctor or a politician. I am showing images of my reality during that time period.
I don't know what your comment was, sometimes comments are deleted by YT, some for good reasons and others randomly. I don't delete comments, I either reply as I am now, don't see them, or I block people who I don't want in my virtual home.

kate middleton is not known as kate middleton in uk. dropped her maiden name on marriage. calling her middleton is vulgar. catherine or princess of wales is how she is known now.

Sounds like it is going to be a bad year for fashion. Sounds like the theme is to either flaunt your wealth or give the illusion you are something you aren't. Don't care if bright colors are in: I will always wear neutrals which I would think would never go out of style. To me, neutrals are timeless and classy. There you have my two cents worth. 😁

It’s also very much about slowing down fashion cycles hopefully and featuring personal style! *if you look on bright side *

I hope that goes for men's fashion as well. But alas, I don't think the majority of men have the balls to break away from social norms & traditional masculinity.

Men who have balls hold on to traditional masculinity. This what has worked for thousands of years until 5 minutes ago when a three letter agency told women they are oppressed
