They honestly need to have much better security at these events, if you're a stall with millions of dollars of cards on your table it would be pretty silly not to hire somebody to watch the cards at all times
That’s why you use whatnot to sell
Yeah, hire a ton of security guards so they can jack up the price on entry fees.
Hire me I'll watch for 350 bucks lol 😆 😂
they had cops roving about. i was there. but they probably waited until they left to do this swipe.
Why hire security when you want them to be stolen anyhow??... that's why they have insurance.
I guard my hundred dollar cards like a Hawk when I’m at a card show…how do you leave million dollar cards unattended…
exactly... seems a bit fishy
Insurance
@@jeremy745 you really think the owner would be so vocal about it if he was in on it?
Was thinking 🤔 the same thing.
I have a crappy collection and even I guard those like a hawk 😂
Those cards are already overseas. We will never see them again unfortunately.
Paris, Budapest, Milan, Portugal, Senegal?
@@simondaughtry4619 lol who knows probably sold them for 25% and are already on to the next criminal.
Recently things are tight and I have to put family first, so a lot less collecting these days. I live vicariously through your channel. Keep it up 🔥
Teapot - I can have compassion for his situation while also feeling he was careless securing an extremely valuable card case.
Amen! Everyone on social media has said they are disappointed in comments “bashing” the dealer. Most of the comments I’ve seen are just pointing out the multiple measures he could have taken to prevent this, but chose not to. I feel bad that he got his cards stolen, no one deserves that, but I would rather have law enforcement focused on catching murderers instead of chasing after his cards. I think that’s a fair opinion.
So where is the update?
All clickbait. Hate this
This guy's the biggest 🤡 n the hobby he gives no f#%KS if there returned he's all about the views I personally doubt they will catch these goons there's some cartel plugs wit stash houses full of cash so I don't wanna hear they can't be sold n that world so there's no card collector washing there drug $$$ via the hobby cmon now
update is, Geoff Wilson himself covered the story.
Just left yals shop! Sold 4k in cash worth of cards and 1k store credit!!! Picked up an Elly topps sterling RPA /25 so sweet!! Thank you all so much, drove from Louisville, stayed the night visited again in the am!! Loved it! Great shop man!!
Where is the store? Is it in ATL?
Fake comment
Do what cons do - require badges for everyone... make sure no one can just randomly walk in. No badge, no entry.
The suspects did have badges, but they paid for them with cash

its called nfts, hence whyevery basketball game and football game is nft tickets now... even college football games are having nft ticketing... theres a reason why every rich collector is going to nfts.
@@BROEWCOIN-mi1opnfts? You mean screenshots? 😂
I've been looking at Arena Club! I'm glad you guys are endorsing!
Would have been removed from their slabs within an hour to remove tracing capabilities.
Thats why I just keep my Will Greer collection in those cases. Jokes on them when they open that later 😂
Joke would definitely be on them!
@SportsCardInvestor Yep kudos again for you. Most get upset but respect to you. Definitely would shake your hand if met you at a show.
Your store needs to stock sleeves for PSA slabs. I had a 1968 Mantle stolen by a dealer at a Civil War show.
Im glad your event is going to be on TH-cam!!!❤
Theyre going to crack those cases and sell em raw or resubmit into grading. What idiot would steal slabbed cards and sell them in their original slab ?
Thank you guys for the info
I did the National a number of years. I do remember one year when security caught a dealer hiding under his table after hours!
???? Charged with impure thoughts? Hopefully not allowed to display anymore. Remember who it was?
If you're walking around with one of those black card cases, you might as well put a sign on your back that says ROB ME!
Thanks for the update and other great content. Hiring help to watch your cards is interesting.
As well, as well as well, as well. As well. Remember when people didn't say 'as well' all of the time?
Too many people are shady enough to prey on channels while being a subscriber. FACTS. Be careful what you advertise. This ain't like an 80's mattress commercial ad anymore, sad to say.
why are there no photos of the 3 people that were doing the distraction????
There are pictures of the 3.
@@christophermitchell4455 which pixel is it?
$70k reward? What do I get in store credit.
You get a gamestop gift card for 20 percent off on used games for a week
You have to set up well seen cameras with red lights shining at your booths, signs that say smile your on camera, thief’s move right on down the line….
Kudos to the card show for those cameras..... It was the Marriott Hotel, I would hope they have cameras all over the building for any purpose.
Add some basic rules... everyone must have an official event badge. Hotel or site employees are not allowed in to help move chairs / tables / etc until every single vendor is 100% moved out and that way they cant just come in either. Have security at all entrances and exits. Make sure all cameras are higher end 4K cameras or better - dont go cheap on the tech. Have guards at entrances check for receipts...if you buy a card or anything you are going to have a receipt...you walk out with goods and no receipt in hand, you are stopped. It sucks to go full Walmart but no way around it now.
Howmuch harder would it be to steal $2 mil in gold bars compared to $2 mil in cards....
I e seen in louisville kentucky they cut threw the roof and went in card shop took everthing. That was 5 years ago its ramping up , please i hope thieves get caught.
A used PSA 10 1986 MJ fleer (unsigned) is going for 350k and there were six which is 2.1mil
So grading company is the official official now. Then they should do a tiny laser etch digits on the card when they grade them. Now no more regrading of the same card forever
If they crack them out of the slabs they cant be traced
3:00
If I have these cards, I will tuck them away for 5 yrs and then crack them and sell it. Trust me, dealers will not even remember this incident or the cards by then. 🤫🤫🤫
You know why I’m waiting that long to sell them? Because in 5 yrs, these cards will be worth $2.5 million. 👍👍👍
Didnt topps just announce a couple months ago about how they were extending expired redemptions by 10 years for past/present products?? This makes no sense. They’re handing out all those redemptions that they JUST SAID WOULD BE VALID
My suggestion for the 1986 Michael Jordan autographed Fleer cards wouild have been have Jordan autograph the BACK SIDE where the signature pops aesthetically and also do it in pencil so the ink doesn't bleed and theoretically you can erase the autograph if anyone ever wanted to, and graphite (pencil) signatures don't fade, smear or bleed and look quite elegant. Defacing the front of the card is bad aesthetics, but the back side looks beautiful and when it's in a slab, it's protected and you turn the card over to look at the autograph, so it's a no brainer that it's signed and easy to see.
the genius who whoever had him sign 10 copies just deluded the market price along with adding a terrible looking auto on a psa 10 copy.. luckily this genius won't delude my BGS 10 copy when I have him sign it.
I’ve brought in cards a couple times and been turned down. Numbered cards Autos not just base. I’ll try again soon. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
A card show I go to every month in Albany New York has some big guys for security which is great
The guy with the mustache always looks so uncomfortable lol
I am. Im a fidgety, restless person.
Doug giving off Paul Skenes vibes.
@@Johngaltjr101 only in my wildest dreams, brother
I have about 30k of cards and I’m strapped always lol
I love how the Cards HQ store will buy your raw cards. But I don't live near the store. If only I could mail my cards in and have the store send me an offer by email.
Great video as always. The end of segment noise is a little loud for headphone users, may want to tone it down a bit.
I was at the national last year waiting at the PSA booth for same day graded card until 9:00 pm long after the show ended. At one point I went and used the restroom. The lights are all almost completely off. If I was dishonest I could have taken so much stuff. Shocks me the lack of security and how trusting everyone is.
It's cards piece of paper cardboard like pass a escort from guy to guy is what cards are. Hobby needs to change instead of hoeing these cards from owner to owner. Facts is all cards needs a serial number base or not to prevent stolen items resold on the market
Only show photocopies of your cards as a reference. Chainlocked in a lock box connected to my table. I'll show actual card to reputable buyers only, and I never leave my table.
I guess I'm the only one who thinks this...Case not locked nor was it tethered to something. Insurance!!!
Wonder if someone could develop a small tracking device to put on cards were the cards can be tracked by an iPhone
It's a good idea, like a microchip
When I went to the national last year I didn't know what to do because all the kids at the trade zone had like Trevor Lawrence auto cardsxand 1/1 cards and there I was with my best card being worth $40
How'd you guys get Paul Skenes on
the video during the season?
Business idea … card box alarm with remote. Set your box down , click the motion sensor alarm. Walk away. Maybe have a tracker built in the case too.
Card dealers have been ripping collectors off for years. How many millions of dollar of packs were opened and resealed in the 80s?
Not that I don’t feel bad for this ash dude but yeah, dealers are the last people who should complain about being robbed.
It had to be an insurance scam
I say since Nationals are coming up that every dealer at the card show get a flyer that shows every card (of value) that was stolen so of some “Yahoo” comes up trying to sell or trade then they will know what to look for. If someone does you bring it to the attention of security and people will research it and see of those were the stolen ones and of not then they can proceed to sell/trade but its a good idea to get the word out to some smaller tables that might not know yet. Also, maybe hand the flyer out to everyone coming in to the show so everyone is aware….whats it going to cost? Pennies to print out flyers? Also, put the faces on the flyers so people will know who to look out for as well. (I think its a good idea at least)! God bless everyone!
Those cards are probably already in the collection of some seedy overseas collector, never to be seen again.
Well then keep your redemption and get it graded it will look good in a showcase
I just watched another video of a kid stealing 500 dollars of Pokémon cards at the same show. It was shocking. The kid noticed the seller was filming. Absolutely shocking
Can’t wait to see u at national u are the best youtubers
how many of these collectors and sellers in the hobby with million+ dollar collections have insurance?
That was a Great video by T POTT
Does the insurance of the dealer and the host of the show help cover the losses?
I'd also cable lock all of my cases together, so a thief wouldn't be able to snag just one away from the rest.
I think that’s a solid idea
Make the redemption program work, by not having them in first place. Either have the item or dont do it.
Locked case with a bike lock attached to a table. Not fool proof but you would make a commotion when you tried to walk away with the case. Kinda hard to pull the table along with you.
Security is a better idea.
There was a guy who got busted stealing at a coin show and he got taken down by multiple security guards
What if these thieves aren’t planning on selling these in country and take them outside ? Would they be able to be stopped ?
Hard to sell those vintage baseball cards outside of the U.S. raw.
Few nations will pay what these are worth. Also few countries outside of the U.S. collect vintage baseball.
No. Ebay
@@caroljavalera8508 eBay will be the most dangerous place to sell them. Then you have photos and a paper trail
If they sell on eBay they will be traced down quick
Will the shop still be open when your at national
of course, they balling
One video is million another video it’s 1.5 now it’s 2million? You guys just view/click chasers man.
Gonna visit u at the National.. I'll be sure to wear my Hugo Boss Tee Shirt
Some dude from Dallas sends 3 ‘52 Mantles into PSA after planning that heist for a while. 😂
and all turn out to be fakes
It's really sad that at fun community events people have to ruin it by stealing. Everybody in the hobby should be a family not taking advantage of each other. Also though there has to be some accountability taken for leaving millions unattended
always cool to see bill bur on these
I'm still waiting on my 2020 Justin Jefferson rc auto from Panini...they are the worse. Customer service never responds.
How...is...2 million...worth...ANYTHING..unattended...wow
Even parents watch their kids with more vigilance and those children aren't worth that much! :) j/k... but using that analogy, you should watch your merchandise as you would your own children, never leave 'em alone, unattended nor out of your sight.
I know who did it. Dante Smith, Corey Forbes and Emory Wade
I think they’ll catch them clowns. the police has good pictures of them guys they’ll get caught for sure. I guarantee it.👏👍💪🇺🇸
Go Gators
People are sick and Ash got caught of guard. Any dealer could have it happened to them. He needs to keep his head up.
The dude that stole it was back the next day!
If all those cards are in 1 case then why not take them with you at night , Texas is a open carry state .
Deactivating the certs will do nothing. These cards were removed from the slabs immediately after being taken. They may catch the guys who took the cards, but the cards are gone!
Someone needs to make an example of these thieves.
Easier to learn from all the mistakes that occurred but yeah if they get caught…
This heist is no doubt, funding the return of the Backstreet Boys.
I’m surprised this has t happen sooner. Make. I mistake about it, Chicago is a ticking time bomb w those card shows and high crime rates.
White pen 🖊️ have a ton IP cards and color pops on any card
Screw security. Have insurance
There not going to resubmit, there going to try and sell it raw.
Sad for the guy shows need more security.
The bald headed guy in the video resembles Zack Hample.
Seems a lovely bloke
Silver sharpie
A clean auto is all I need .... no MVP's or nicknames or HOF year needed for my money...
Best thieves are12 year olds:( Question is were the showcases locked? I see showcases unlocked at shows all the time. SOOO Easy to get distracted!
dallas has alot of rich people; prob one of the millionaires hired them and did a mission impossible
NEVER take your eyes off your card cases! Ever! If you think you’re going to be in a relaxed situation where you could be distracted, make sure you’re standing right by your stuff. Or get your buddy to do it for you.
Yeah. You do have to have a paranoid mindset at all times when you’re dealing with that kind of monetary value!
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIi
Add hidden tracking devices to cases so you can track their location at all times. Setup alarms should they leave more than a foot or two from your phone.
And they probably shouldn't be telling everyone what exactly the grading companies and card shops are doing they should have just let them try and sell the cards and then let them get caught
With a week now past it is increasingly likely that these cards have left the country. The fact that no names have been shared by authorities and nobody in the card community has ID’d these guys is not a good sign either.
6 52’ topps
So there is no new updates huh?
Where will the National be
Cleveland Ohio I think
It is Cleveland, heard Cleveland was sketchy.
@@Darren-xj7fg Like other large cities, there are good and bad parts of town.
A ,$20.00 Air Tag could have saved his cards. Sports Card Radio #1
Why weren’t these cards 🔐 🆙
For the redemptions the card was lost anyway better a box of cards in return
The Dealer is getting bashed The only reason he was robbed is because of his honesty and believing that others in the Hobby are honest like they are
You can’t watch everything even counterfeit bills are in play
