Sides of a joke! Every post game interview following a lost, she mentions they’re not playing defense, BUT what is HER adjustments to correct this? What is the consequence for not playing good defensive? Let me guess, she cut your best defensive player? I understand CC made a costly turnover BUT did she do so trying to execute Side’s play call?? There are 3 Allstars on the Fevers. The players bring talent and it’s the coach’s responsibility to harness the power of that talent to win games. The Fevers are working too hard to be top portion on the bottom. The only way that Sides will be fired is if CC and AB demands it and they should!
I don't dislike Sides as much as most do, but i was going crazy when she called that timeout when CC had a free layup assist to Naylissa, i think, I was like wtf are you doing?
The most embarrassing moment of the game is Caitlin Clark throws an inbound pass the length of the court for an easy score, but Coach Sides had called a timeout. No points on an easy layup
I really appreciate how they continue to give great interviews and answer questions in a meaningful way even after a loss. So many teams are rude in the post game media conference after a loss.
It’s weird that Christie Sides is just consistently unable to own up to any of her own mistakes. Someone needs to press her on her decisions because some of them are genuinely baffling. Like she doesn’t know when to call timeouts, she has a habit of taking players that are on fire out of the game when they are the reason for all the momentum, not creating more plays that set up screens to give Clark some room to shoot, not directing her players to fight for more offensive rebounds, etc. She even laments their lack of defense, but what is she doing to address that? It’s just so frustrating to watch as a fan and you can tell that the players are growing frustrated by her as well. If I was in leadership for the Fever organization I’d be having some serious discussions about whether Sides even has the skills and ability to be a head coach in this league as of right now
I don't think Sides has to kiss Caitlin's butt but Sides goes out of her way NOT to give Caitlin any props. She's constantly side stepping the questions on Caitlin's amazing play and records deflecting to give AB or other players props. It is so obvious and very weird.
Instead of Christie playing to her teams strengths, she pushes them to play her schoolyard offense. During the Olympic break, please do us a favor and make a coaching change.

Sides has been saying the SAME THING ALL YEAR but has done NOTHING to fix it. "We need to be better defensively....we need to get stops....we turned the ball over too many times..." OK yes those are all true statements but it all STARTS with the COACHING..... "We have to figure out how to show up in the 1st quarter..." yes -THAT'S ALL ON COACHING having the team mentally prepared for EVERY GAME. Smith was very obviously NOT in this game mentally - and Sides kept her in. Sides has no instincts for the game to stop the opposing momentum, and calls a timeout on a fastbreak transition wiping out 2 points. TERRIBLE. Sides needs to go.
only problem it is Dunn and Sides doing the evals looking for uptempo style players but they only know plodding post style and HAVE NO IDEA about uptempo play
CC and AB are not panicking.. they are still chilling. relax guys they will be the greatest duo sooner or later. We should be still thanking on all the accomplishments they have done in this season!. They will learn and they will go to playoffs first time in how many years..
Sorry for the double post I just have to say Aliyah Boston aside from shot eraser, glass cleaner, and post dominator is also a tremendous presence when it comes to character and thoughtfulness. I don’t mean as in just considerate but as in smart. She’s a very smart player and person. CC is lucky to have someone of her caliber to battle with.
So many easy layups and shots were missed in that game as well as traveling calls, etc. They should have easily won that game. It was basically Clark and Boston vs. Dallas.
Fever Office get rid of Sides and Dunn. Watch Cheryl Miller, Coach the all-star game. She knows talent. She will show Saturday how to coach it. Sides doesn’t know how to coach this much talent.

it's hard to win a game where basically only two players showed up. everyone besides AB and CC needs to walk home. tough loss, but great showcase by the two stars. hope they enjoy their break after the all star game and come back even stronger.
For real though, shes a rookie guard, whos playing close to 40 mins all games. High TO is expected in this situation, but she just broke the assists in a game record, meaning number of attempts is extra high. While she needs to clean her passing going forward, thats also a team effort. Her assists/TO this game was crazy good already, though. For a rookie, meaning not only months into the team, but into the league, this record is an insane achievement. Her high TO now is undesired, but understandable. We will see next year. Worth worrying is the trending low 3 point percentage of the whole team.
You are so right. She is expected to get Boston and the others easy shots every night. If CC gets hurt Fever are screwed. Kobe, Lebron and John Stockton are top 5 in turnovers in NBA history. CC is in good company.

With all the pressure put on the Fever this season Coach Sides has done a great job. The team will get better and from last year they have grown so much.
Got to see this one live in Dallas yeah Kaitlyn had an amazing game of assist, but there were several shots late in the game that she could’ve taken and didn’t it still feels like she is reluctant to hit threes now and they really needed them. Sheldon hit those two and Kaitlyn Clark I still think it’s the best person to hit those threes. She doesn’t shoot very many anymore.

Arike was just simply more amazing for this match up with incredible clutch shots. She’s a fighter under pressure. I recall her 2 buzzer beaters at the semifinals and for the championship win at Notre Dame. 🔥🔥 Great game for the fans, kiddos, and for the W. 👏
What I don’t hear the coach say is these two players were burning us inside so we zoned up with three players in the middle on them and then they were effective with an outside shot…. She doesn’t talk basketball she talks gibberish.
You really can't blame this one on anything other than the players, they missed so many wide open layups and shots as well as traveling calls, etc. Dallas was red hot as well, they couldn't miss a shot in the first half.
Aliyah battled so hard all night against 2 centers who were way bigger than her, Clark is ROTY, AB needs help! Fever needs to trade or release Saxton, Katie Lou and Wheeler. Pick up a 3 point shooter and ball handler like Marina Mabry to take pressure off CC. CC would average 6 more assists per game if her team mates could knock down shots.

This game came down to Nalyssa Smith. She has rebounded well in the past 4 or 5 games but she just plain misses to many easy shots. She needs to forget about Carrington and get her but in the gym!!!

Actually Fever had two weakness : coaches and backup point guard!!! Putting Grace Berger on training during the break, prepare her for that job, benching Wheeler, CC needs two breaks, if you want her three drop
I've tried to give Sides some time to learn and adjust to being a pro coach. But all of her comments "We have to be better", "We have to play better defense", "We can't give up leads", etc; tend to make me wonder about her depth of knowledge of the game. It doesn't seem like her team trusts her leadership or expertise.
That's a coach who keeps it internal. She could talk xs and os but she gains nothing by critiquing her players to the media. Like all great coaches do it

@steveschwenke3444 what game are you watching? 😂 Team chemistry has improved. Defense has improved. The pace of games has improved. Other players are learning to pass better and be ready for passes. They're in the playoffs currently. She calls timeouts to pause runs all of the time, but you can't call every single one. Sometimes you have to let players grow and develop through those challenges. It's a game of runs, she can't call a timeout for every single run.
The Fever is progressing, getting better unfortunately some of their youth showed up at times. CC cares more about wins than records. One mistake doesn't cost them the game. 17 turnovers is high when you have little margin for errors. CC with 6 turnovers which leaves the rest of the team with 11. Everyone contributed to the loss so if you are a Fever fan look at the positives as they are growing and they can work on improving and resting during the break

The best games I’ve seen is when Katie and Lexie are in the lineup. Cc,Boston,Katie,Kelsey,Lexie,Smith man the whole game changes hustle hustle.. only thing I see is more offensive rebounds, and yet they’ve been stepping it up 👍👌💯

When post players set up right under the basket you have to front them and then double the feed player with the ball as they drive. Also three point shooters should be in place more often on catch and shoots not running around screens. Too many feeds to three shooters aren’t coming from penetration. Having to fight for a shooting position from three land and then stop and quickly fire by pursuing defense is not the way to go. That’s part of the reason why Mitchell and CCs shooting percentage is down. Sides to me seems like a solid person from a strong personality, respect, and accountability aspect but from a Xs and Os standpoint I think they can do better. Maybe some better empowered assistants.
Smith was unproductive and so was Katie Lou and Hull. Wheeler gives fever nothing. We should have traded 3 players for Marina Mabry instead of letting Sun steal her.

It really was an exciting game to watch. The commentators said that. Players are getting ready for Saturday's All- Star game, already. Inoescu opted out of the 3- point contest, because of practice obligations, for Team USA. Clark, also opted out. And out of the skills comtest, for both. I'll check that. Not sure if Inoescu is out of skills contest. I would think so, because of practice obligations. I believe Team USA will play like it's a championship game. Fast pace. Trying to get quick scores and steals. Trying to push thr score, the first 5 minutes of the game. And trying to maintain that pace, for the whole game. Amazing game for CC and AB. I'm wondering if NaLyssa will be trade material in the off season. I agree with Monica McNutt when she says Smith is the X factor. She can do anything on the court, and if she played to her potential every night, she'd easily be an all-star too. Still got 14 games to keep gelling.
Watched every game. Watched every pre and post game conference. Multiple interviews and pressers. Have heard most players, Clark & Boston esp., concede to some crappy play when they have played crappy. But this coach admits to absolutely nothing. It is always the players. Never the plays. The bad starting choices. The questionable (& I am being kind) substitutions, both timing and player choices. Why is she limiting Clark's shots or benching players when they are playing high percentage for ones who are not? The list is too long. These are critical concerns. Sides' game analysis consists of criticizing the players or regurgitating stat data. The team is ass without AB or CC. Mitchell, Smith, Samuelson & Hull do not have a season of consistent playing their skillset. Temi is injury prone. I'll keep watching until AB & CC move to their next team. Hopefully soon.
With Caitlyn and Aliya, this team has a real chance at being great. The higher ups just need tk surround them with consistent players, doesn't have to he great, but consistent.

Why is nobody asking the BIGGER QUESTION: Why is Lexie Hull playing in substitution of NaLyssa Smith? Smith is a FAR more dominant player than Hull, both offensively and defensively! There's simply no comparison. It makes absolutely ZERO sense to me why all of a sudden Hull is getting more minutes, while Smith sits on the bench...
The problem is, Sides always treats timeouts like her personal checking account, most coaches in WNBA and NBA will typically call a timeout when the team is 5-10 points behind or both teams are at equal points. Sides always calls the timeouts when fever is 10-15+ behind, and the team has to fight extra hard to catch the game, I think it is exhausting for the team. I don't understand why she does this.

She was 2-9 from three, terrible. She doesn’t have the legs right now. She needs the rest and an off-season of strength work.

Christie Sides needs to just record “We’ve got to figure out our defense” on her phone and let it attend these pressers without her. Wasn’t Sides supposed to be a defensive specialist as an assistant coach? Just once I’d like to hear Sides say, “I take responsibility and I have to do a better job.”
Arike was just simply more amazing for this match up with incredible clutch shots. She’s a fighter under pressure. I recall her 2 buzzer beaters at the semifinals and for the championship win at Notre Dame. 🔥🔥

You really can't blame this one on anything other than the players, they missed so many wide open layups and shots as well as traveling calls, etc. Dallas was red hot as well, they couldn't miss a shot in the first half.
Aliyah battled so hard all night against 2 centers who were way bigger than her, Clark is ROTY, AB needs help! Damaris cannot keep up with AB when it comes to defending, let’s swap out Saxton & Berger can go, how is Tspoon making adjustments but not Christie Sides, not only that you cut Celeste Taylor to add Dantas and she literally does nothing but present a body, we need traded ASAP damn at least learn from TeaSpoon tf are u doing Sides
Fever needs to trade or release Saxton, Katie Lou and Wheeler. Pick up a 3 point shooter and ball handler like Marina Mabry to take pressure off CC. CC would average 6 more assists per game if her team mates could knock down shots.

This game came down to Nalyssa Smith. She has rebounded well in the past 4 or 5 games but she just plain misses to many easy shots. She needs to forget about Carrington and get her but in the gym!!!

I've tried to give Sides some time to learn and adjust to being a pro coach. But all of her comments "We have to be better", "We have to play better defense", "We can't give up leads", etc; tend to make me wonder about her depth of knowledge of the game. It doesn't seem like her team trusts her leadership or expertise.
That's a coach who keeps it internal. She could talk xs and os but she gains nothing by critiquing her players to the media. Like all great coaches do it

Team chemistry has improved. Defense has improved. The pace of games has improved. Other players are learning to pass better and be ready for passes. They're in the playoffs currently.
She calls timeouts to pause runs all of the time, but you can't call every single one. Sometimes you have to let players grow and develop through those challenges. It's a game of runs, she can't call a timeout for every single run.
Oh like the timeout she called that negated a basket bcuz she's so dumb she calls a timeout on a fast break. Who does that! 🤦♂️
The Fever is progressing, getting better unfortunately some of their youth showed up at times. CC cares more about wins than records. One mistake doesn't cost them the game. 17 turnovers is high when you have little margin for errors. CC with 6 turnovers which leaves the rest of the team with 11. Everyone contributed to the loss so if you are a Fever fan look at the positives as they are growing and they can work on improving and resting during the break
I like when catlin Clark drives to the basket that would bring her percentage better and go the free throw line . And possibly score 30 points a night

The best games I’ve seen is when Katie and Lexie are in the lineup. Cc,Boston,Katie,Kelsey,Lexie,Smith man the whole game changes hustle hustle.. only thing I see is more offensive rebounds, and yet they’ve been stepping it up 👍👌💯

CC surely entertained the crowd with her passing ability and the way she broke her defender with her classy crossover.
When post players set up right under the basket you have to front them and then double the feed player with the ball as they drive. Also three point shooters should be in place more often on catch and shoots not running around screens. Too many feeds to three shooters aren’t coming from penetration. Having to fight for a shooting position from three land and then stop and quickly fire by pursuing defense is not the way to go. That’s part of the reason why Mitchell and CCs shooting percentage is down. Sides to me seems like a solid person from a strong personality, respect, and accountability aspect but from a Xs and Os standpoint I think they can do better. Maybe some better empowered assistants.

Amazing game for CC and AB. I'm wondering if NaLyssa will be trade material in the off season. I agree with Monica McNutt when she says Smith is the X factor. She can do anything on the court, and if she played to her potential every night, she'd easily be an all-star too. Still got 14 games to keep gelling.

Watched every game. Watched every pre and post game conference. Multiple interviews and pressers. Have heard most players, Clark & Boston esp., concede to some crappy play when they have played crappy. But this coach admits to absolutely nothing. It is always the players. Never the plays. The bad starting choices. The questionable (& I am being kind) substitutions, both timing and player choices. Why is she limiting Clark's shots or benching players when they are playing high percentage for ones who are not? The list is too long. These are critical concerns. Sides' game analysis consists of criticizing the players or regurgitating stat data.
The team is ass without AB or CC. Mitchell, Smith, Samuelson & Hull do not have a season of consistent playing their skillset. Temi is injury prone. I'll keep watching until AB & CC move to their next team. Hopefully soon.

Also, when you are asked a specific question about CC, you always deflect to answering the question referring to all of the players so you never really are enthusiastic about CC. You are enthusiastic when you talk about all of the other players but are measured about CC. Also, everyone can see that the fast paced game is the one that your team and CC play the best yet at key times you go away from that. Why is that??? I may need to rewatch the game, but I was frustrated with the empty possessions in the 2nd half. No shot, turn overs, missed/bad shots. It came across to me as run and gun Vs Pace and score. Not sure if I am making myself clear.

The problem is, Sides always treats timeouts like her personal checking account, most coaches in WNBA and NBA will typically call a timeout when the team is 5-10 points behind or both teams are at equal points. Sides always calls the timeouts when fever is 10-15+ behind, and the team has to fight extra hard to catch the game, I think it is exhausting for the team. I don't understand why she does this.
Timeouts are for a momentum change or to regroup. It's not about what the lead is.
