This is my first foray into the 9500 and Stackwise Virtual. I'm coming a 3750 with traditional rear Stackwise cables. Stackwise Virtual can only run in active-standby meaning I can only use 16 ports at any given time instead of all 32 ports on the stack for network traffic?
Thanks! yes its a very nice toy, we actually have the bigger 9500-24y4c at the office, we are building a new core network for a customer. so they running isis and all nice stuff :)
no, this is more like a VSS chassi, meaning you "cluster" nodes that can sit in physically different rooms / buildings If you want bigger stuff you need to go up to bigger models or chassi based.
The power cable connector is C15. UK C15 Socket to GB BS1363 or Extension CAB-C14-C15
So.... Noone is about to comment about the way this guy is unboxing it haha
Aissa KADDOUR hehe, what about my way to unbox :) ?
@@MagnusHolmberg-NetSec you seem to have no mercy on it some what haha.
Great video explained
Thank your, what are you guys using for core and access switches within the network?

What is the default management IP address to connect using a browser
No idea actually, never configure Cisco via webgui. I only uses console or ssh to the box.
thanks boss
Any time
This device Catalyst c9500-16x-a can support VSS or not?
they now run something called StackWise Virtual its the new VSS :) and yes its supported
Hello I have a question, are they 16 fibre ports or Ethernet ports?
They are 16x sfp+ so you can put in copper or fiber sfp depending on what type of cable you need.
@@MagnusHolmberg-NetSec thank you very much!!👍👍
No stackpower? as with the C9300? ... I'm not talking about stacking data, but powerstack.

Two C9500-40x can only be stacked via VSS or Stackwise Virtual ? which is more preferable ?
Stackwise virtual is the new version of VSS so if you need the switches to act like 1 it’s that one you should configure :)
Here is an FAQ
