I know over the years you've mentioned doing tours of the Kamp. I hope that is still something that you are considering. Would be a amazing experience. Love your channel brother. Thanks for sharing the ups and downs of reptile husbandry over the years.
if you have a sickness Kenan, it has spread to a lot of us who watch your vlogs lol. Ed couldn't choose a better place to train than at your place. I can't wait to watch the vlogs.
I like the second line you drew for the pond. I think having a lot of room around the pond while still having a big pond will be more beneficial not just for you and the animals but also for the people who may come to visit. Also it leaves you with options to build maybe a deck or a platform for guest to over look the pond. It leaves you with many options 😊😊
I have seen a few comments mentioning the bamboo leaf letter, i agree that it would potentially cause filtration issues, and the bottom of the pond would be a nightmare to keep clear of it, but it would produce a very natural enviroment. You have the experts coming ao im sure they will guide with this. Lots of people have said go bigger, if its a shared area with land tortoise, i perosnally think the size you have roughly gone for would be a nice balance. I really look forward to seeing this develop and even more excited to see if it leads to breeding. On a side note we saw our first wild tortoise whilst visiting mallorca Spain, we were all so.excited
I'm so excited! I enjoy watching the builds, but I love seeing you put your mark on the ponds and / or habitats and truly making them part of the Kamp.
You can go bigger! Turn that bamboo clump into an island and expand past that. I like that you are going to go with the retaining wall, because you're right, the rocks take up so much swimming room. Can't wait to see the build! I started watching you and Aquascape when you put in the first front yard feature!
Thanks for the spray paint.... it is beginning to feel Real ! And a new pond right at the entrance of the Kamp..... Genius ! All winter I can dream about the new addition to Lumpy's area... and WATCHING it being built ! Ed The Pond Professor is actually a friend to ALL of us when he helps Kamp Kenan ! 💜🐢🐍 💜 And Lumpy will still have his home.... but now "beach-front" !
I am so Excited!! I love ponds and turtles. It will be nice to see these turtles in a more natural habitat. Aquascape does such beautiful work. You’re really lucky to be picked for a new pond.
I'm so excited to see this come to fruition, cause i know how long you've wanted to do it. It's gonna be great! Gonna love watching it happen! I know the animals will love it as well! 🐢
Blake is going to be jealous of you getting pond help from Ed and those guys. He’s been trying to get a hold of them to help do a new project for his wood turtles.
Remembered to make their sand shore area!! Hope you get some babies!! And after the fumes Lego will be Tyco and Kenan will be Conan!!! 😅😂😂😂😂 Wish the best with that pond!!! It's a must needed pond and truly you get some babies from them! I can imagine them !!! You should have cameras pointing that pond 24/7. For you to get the beautiful borrowing of the eggs for you don't need at least on them going Easter egg hunting 😅😂. Can't wait to see the videos of the new pond creation!
I want an outdoor pond myself. My father always had them and I've missed them over the years. Hoping I get to the point that I can build one one day. 😢😊❤
Look idk what is up with Kamp Kenan videos but theres something to it thata i LOVE so much , yet i follow so many good content creator reptiles or not .. its just so cozy and also exciting , you have the dream backyard man 🖤
Kenan you NEED to partner with a solar company otherwise your gonna have to sell your body to pay the electric bill 🤣😂 Just a little fyi....if you look on the side of the tape measure it will tell you how many feet it extends to 🙂
A mud bottom pond like Fred's lagoon would be great for those turtles though. Those bamboo leaves would be a problem with the pumps and might clog the stream or the waterfall. Not mentioning the roots of those bamboo might puncture the liner. Also consider that a clear pond might also be a problem because of the flyriver turtles...they do well before in the murky pond with mud bottom because they can't see each other that much.
@@bhutch216Almost.but 1 unfortunate root might go through the liner and it will be a pain in the butt to find where it is. And a mud bottom pond as Kenan said before helps with the turtles skin problems. I think that's one of the reasons why he pulled out some of the turtles in the recreation pond due to fungal infections.
Adding a pond where u keep the tubs and eliminating the cage area then dividing the pond into separate enclosures would be sweet potentially going into the area you were thinking of
Are ya gonna adios those concrete block/slabs on the right as you look at it from the gate to enlarge the enclosure so it's just one big space, or leave it as two?
What if you dig out a deep water annex that goes up behind the little stone structure. Then have a second waterfall from the wetlands servicing it so it doesn’t go stagnant. It will give some extra volume and swimming room and a bit of a relief zone for any animals that want a bit of privacy away from the main pond area. Then have the beach front over the side where the bamboo is. Just an idea.
Thats going to be awesome! I'd suggest raising the height of the fence along the road, tho, just to block the view from the road. Maybe bamboo picketing? It woul keep casually nosey folk from having an excuse to infringe.
hey man, can't wait to see the new pond! if I could add a suggestion maybe, why not go a little bit bigger and deeper? I was just thinking then you could add an island in the middle or off to one of the sides, or a penninsula. I know Fly rivers can be aggressive so that would give them an area to break line of site, or, and this is what i thought you were going to do at first, why not make an EPIC river system as part of it for one of the fly rivers, and if you have the wetland area be deep enough the other could live in there, just food for thought to help spark up the ole idea train, im sure the guys will knock it out of the park
U should try to figure out an affordable way to heat this new pond when needed, some sort of heat mat or thermal tube tht runs the perimeter and near the middle, hooked to a simple light switch, there's gotta be a way. then u only need the tubs for quarantine or for medical aid.
@@bhutch216 hence the "some sort of" part. not all of us heat water for a living, I'm very proud of ur dedication to absorbing knowledge on heating water, and ability to contribute useless info :D

Quick ? Think about when it floods does that area flood or hold water alot ? But if your going to have it inside an enclosure (fenced in area) should be good regardless... can't wait until I have decent amount of land and extra funds to have them create me a wetland filter system with steaming a decent size pond 😊
@@bhutch216a few leaves might be ok.but as you can see, bamboos shed a lot of leaves everyday.that will be a hassle and might cause trouble especially if kenan is not around doing clean up.take sofia's pond for example.

That is going to be amazing, and Tom is going to lose his mind planting it out. I can't wait!

Yes I am.
Snakenecks are unique. I hope the Fly rivers are not going to bully them. Also Ocadia has been subsumed into Mauremys.

You could take a GoogleMap Photo of the area, size down to scale and use your area in a Rectangular box to do the design in....!!

I am building a turtle Pond in Naples Fl in November as well,

Can u partition it so multiple groups of torts can access the pond?
I saw those bread season terapin before. They are very beautiful. And very protected. Almost $230,000-250,000 Fine if being keep illegal here.
Ken just have that gate open Out into your road and u can have that big Ass Pond I can’t wait to see what ED and the. Boys come up with 👊🏽😉

Definitely still leave access at the gate to the new pond proposal
It’s so close to the cherry heads, why not add a secondary stream that goes thru their enclosure and back to the main pond?
Make it bigger! 😁
Rebuild some of the fencing and make it bigger!
Would you have a lifted wall in front ote naturally look slope to the pond? Just curious😅👏👏👏
Maybe give lumpy access to the stream, but not the Wetland or the pond itself? Less access to digging and eating all the plants.

there alot of bamboo leaves going to go in the pond never ending fishing out leaves
That pond would have so much 🍂, the trees gotta go
do you still have the mata mata
What did you end up doing with the small Fly River you had?
I think it looks great but it doesn’t leave much room for Lumpy
Awsome! more ponds! But bamboo close to the pondliner good idea?

Bamboo root systems run vertically and don’t spread much.
