  • Mizuno Pro 223 vs MP20 MMC both sitting just beneath the full on Blade, which has always been seen as being designed as close to the iconic blade as possible but with as much technology packed help built in.

    Jay, Always a great comparison video. Love the individual shot by shot analysis. In 2010 i was custom fit for MP-58's, amazing i played with them for nearly 7 years, they weren't very forgiving! But on center strikes they felt great. You should have more subscribers!

    Good vid! I’ve had my 223’s since May, really pleased with them, feel great - they replaced my ~18 year old MP30’s. Still trying to dial in course yardages, the lofts in them are literally a club stronger than my old ones (I had them cranked 1 degree)…but yeah, nice looking, wish they did longer than a 4 iron, had to get a 2 iron in the 225, which in fairness is a monster!

    Love that you didn't do the typical 5 shots with each and call it good. I was fitted in March and ended up buying the 223 with the Elevate Tour stiff shaft, could not be happier.

    I have had the Mizuno 223’s for 6 months now. I play off an 11 handicap. At first the 115 gram shafts were hard to hit. I came off the 105 so not a huge difference but enough. My last round I was sticking irons nice and tight for most of my round. I would of liked to see them offered in the 105’s just for ease of effort. Sometimes I feel like I’m working harder for the same result with these

    Great content as always Jay. I'm a Mizuno bro thru and thru and its always good to see two fantastic irons going head to head. I currently have the pro 225s so whenever you are willing to compare them to anything on the market i would be a happy man......

    Very helpful. Still hoping for comparisons between Mizuno and Titleist clubs such as T100 vs JPX Tour and T100S vs Pro 223.

      Hi Erik, I'll need to try and get hold of the Titleist irons to do the video compare 👍

    You are using the old Mizuno ball with small dimples. Would be very interesting to see the same test using the new 2023 Mizuno ball with 272 large dimples. Reviewers say ball has been improved a lot. I have played the X version and agree it is a very nice ball.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a much much improved ball and would encourage people other than low swing speed profile to move to the newer one.
      That said I guess the test was done with using the same ball so the only difference would be the flight between them but it would be a like for like change so no differences in performance 👍🏻

    I currently have the MP-20 MMC’S but have always been intrigued by the feel and the launch of the Pin I210’s. Now that the I230’s have come out, your review on those has me interested. Where’s your head at in comparing the two? I’m 50 and am a decent ball striker. Curious on your thoughts. Great stuff as always.

      MMC is now an old iron and unfortunately not custom fitable, so I guess the closest would be i230 vs 223? 👍

    I think rather than saying on average 1 yard off line be better explaining your average left to right dispersion of 6 yards left and right. So a 12 yard dispersion left to right. With +- carry of 4 meaning you have on a launch monitor in a controlled environment a dispersion circle of 12 yards wide and 8 yards deep.
    Will help reinforce to golfers how wide shot patterns are. As we go outside with differing lies side hill etc, rough/fairway, wind, emotions, score implications the dispersion pattern is only going to go one way.

      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tiger Tim, thanks for the constructive feedback 👍 I'll definitely take what you say on board and think about a way to say it without boring the pants off people 😊 dispersion is important but normally it's more the measure of the golfer rather than the club. A patterned dispersion can be club biased for sure 👍
      Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍

      @@AskGolfNut fast reply. Was about to edit my comment as double checked there and your data showed
      MMC
      +- 8 offline L/R vs +- 4 carry
      So 16 yards wide vs 8 yards front to back
      223
      +- 6 offline vs +- 3 carry
      So 12 yards wide vs 6 yards front to back
      Those figures you could argue or make a comment back up how a new release 223 in this case could be more forgiving.
      I haven't the math knowledge to summarise the impact of that on square feet. But you get the idea. Obviously when getting fit we are trying to reduce that left to right and front to back dispersion as you'll then hope that translates partially to the course.
      A spoonful of perspective for us golfers and application to on course context something we all need continually. Wouldn't say that's boring.

    Please don’t dial your speed back. I want to see good players review clubs and I’m clever enough to estimate how the club will perform for my speed. While I’m in feedback mode, would be nice to see you hit shots into an actual golf hole on the sim. Bunkers, water, trees etc.

    • @tigertim9232
      @tigertim9232 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be good if you hit all the shots into a green and then shown an image after how the two overall dispersion circles from all shots overlapped the green. Then you could pick the mishits out, showing where they ended up.
