- Hey guys, in this video we do another DIY build. We created a removable winch housing using a hitch receiver. This is a super cool build and it will help a lot with towing our vehicles.
If you have a questions about the build don't hesitate to ask in the comments or contact us at alwayssomethinggarage@gmail.com.

Really nice winch mount. Totally looks OEM. I especially liked the fabrication and plasma cutter usage. Well done.
Looks awesome but you might add a table for the winch to sit on so it is easy for one guy to get it installed in the hitch mount.
I have no idea but how many pulls do you think it will do before recharging the battery for something about that weight? On and off a few times at least right?
Yeah it would be a one time use kind of thing. Only use it when needed. We use our big camper battery so, it has a little more capability then a normal car battery. Thanks for checking out the video!

I bought an 8700 pound, 40 foot "high cube" shipping container from a guy that had a custom gooseneck trailer built with an electric-hydraulic tilt bed. Believe it or not, the entire electrical system was charged by a single 5-watt solar panel which charged his batteries 24/7. At that moment I was instantly sold on the idea of using a small solar charging system for a winch battery.
Great idea to put mount at front of trailer like that! Good craftsmanship also.
