Exactly. The Predators came to other worlds to hunt and prove themselves. They knew what they were getting into and the risks involved. If they were killed, that means they weren’t up for the game. They didn’t seek revenge for their fallen comrades.

I've always thought this film is supremely underrated, for many years. It's a fantastic sequel for so many reasons, not least of which is that it isn't a retread of the original; which the next sequel, Predators, would be (showing the flaw in this thinking). But it also gives us a brand new setting in the urban jungle of a near-future LA, along with a new Predator antagonist that expands on the lore and worldbuilding of the first. We get the introduction of Predator Elders and Clans; excellent new weapons in their arsenal that have stood the test of time and become staples in this franchise and Expanded Universe; a great and diverse cast, including an excellent lead performance turn by Danny Glover; more beautiful and mind-blowing practical FX and suit work by Stan Winston and his team; action set-pieces galore!; and just so much more. I love this film and always will. It stands up there amongst the best franchise sequels of all-time, next to the likes of Aliens and T2, if you ask me.
As someone who lived at the time when these movies came out..... the first one was unique and blew people away. The second one was made because they wanted to make more money from the new thing. This movie is total entertainment. I still throw this movie on every now and then...still love it. Total popcorn movie and shouldn't be taken too seriously. Its no T2, but I feel it has actually aged better than most sequels from that era.
All things considered I think Predator 2 was good the way it was. The idea of swapping the main character (all characters really) sounds risky, but it worked. And Lethal Weapon was a classic, it was awesome seeing Danny Glover get the starting role, he nailed it, and it was equally cool seeing him and Gary Busey bumping heads once again
After watching “Prey” I hope the studio goes back and explores the predator in different time periods. World war 2 would be great. Seeing soldier putting their differences aside and teaming up to defeat the predator
I heard that if they got a sequel going, it would be a different time period. I love the idea of seeing what the Predators have been doing for centuries before meeting Dutch and company
yeah with the Nazi Major Rudol Von Stroheim as the lead soldier from the German side, and an equally crazed soldier from the US side would be a great movie against a nasty Predator probably one of the older ones
Danny Glover brought a more down to earth feel to the franchise. He really made it feel like the Predator could hit close to home and not just some far away jungle. I love this sequel. It deserves so much more love for the expansion on the lore.
I truly loved Predator 2. The fact that the action sequences were donevwith practical stunts instead of cgi was crazy. Even crazier is the fact that about 20% of the movie was not shown because it was deemed too graphic! The funniest scene was the Predator falling off a building after loosing his arm, falling on a pole, and Paul vaulted into grandma's bathroom 😂
Predator 1 and 2 both work for the same reason, and it's because they're not actually about the Predator. At least not at first. They basically just take a cliche action movie plot that could have been its own separate film and drop the Predator in to see what happens. That, to me, is the secret fornula.
Great video! Honestly an underrated film imho. Great performances and special effects plus an early version of building a cinematic universe with the alien skull. Overall very entertaining movie
I would actually agree with that. I see some people seem to give Predators some kudos but, despite some great cast members, it was such paint by numbers movie.
I still don’t understand how or why PREDATOR 2 Was consider a failure and how people didn’t like it !! IN MY OPINION - It was just as good as the 1st one !! A completely different setting but still had the same feeling so how can you like the 1st but not the 2nd??? Blows my mind
it's up there with other great sequels like back to the future 2 and die hard two, you all may hate me for saying this but compared to modern sequel these are masterpieces
I love & appreciate Predator 2, & also appreciate the casting director's choice of casting Danny Glover, in the lead. Predator 2 is incredibly underrated!! I'm glad they were able to get another chance for Kevin Peter Hall to play Predator, before his untimely, unfortunate passing, only a year or 2 later. It also stars the late great Morton Downey Jr.
This movie has gotten better over time. I've always enjoyed it and thought it was awesome. RIP Kevin Peter Hall and his tremendous talent to bring both Predators alive and captivating. I always thought he was the true star.
The man’s ballet training really lent such nimbleness to his psychical performance. He really embodied the creature so well & from everything I heard he was such a positive and sweet man
A one awesome sequel! I've always enjoyed this one very much.. Sucha damn shame these always just wanna mention box office bombings.. I thought it was nice to not see Arnie yet again in the sequel. Don't really need two same movies, just put into another setting/surrounding..
I like Predator 2, its like Robocop 2, doesn't reach the heights of the first film, but still adds things that don't destroy the mythos and is fun to watch.
I can’t understand how this film did so badly at the cinema,it’s absolutely amazing! It’s action scenes are gory/bombastic and extremely violent. It’s character development is in depth for the main character, supporting characters and even the setting. The introduction of agent Keys and the government secret service plot line makes total sense and the addition of the predator ship expanded on the lore of the alien creature. It happens to be my mothers favourite film too lol
Now I am old enough to have seen both Predator films in the theater. The first one with my older sister and the second one with my high school friends and I remember, clear as day, nobody cared that Danny Glover was black, everyone cared that he never headlined an action movie before!! Sure, he was in two Lethal Weapon films, but Mel Gibson did the heavy lifting on those. So don't let anyone fool you. Race played no part in any ruckus stirred up by Glover's casting. Also, I STILL think he wasn't a big enough star to carry Predator 2 and the script was far less superior than the original!
I'm from the UK so don't have the cultural context of the US. From what I've heard, I don't think that race had anything to do with it either. So many references to racism and sexism seem to be retroactively transposed because of what has been happening these last 5-10 years in Hollywood. While a different form of leading man to Arnie, I think Glover had presence and made a great lead. I don't think a second movie would have been done with him as the lead but he was great in 2.
Predator 2 is extremely underrated.
Right
Agreed. I prefer it to the 1st.

Nothing. It rocked
As a teenager, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS FILM and still do!!! 😌❤️
"Voodoo fuckin magic man AHAHAHAHAHA!...." Absolutely brilliant movie.
Danny Glover brought a more down to earth feel to the franchise. He really made it feel like the Predator could hit close to home and not just some far away jungle. I love this sequel. It deserves so much more love for the expansion on the lore.
Damn LA in the 80s was wild 😂
Yeah it was😂😅😅😅😅😅
I thought it was in the 90s in this movie?
@@nathangibson80141997
‘90s LA became such a bizarre place. This thankfully got made 2 years before the riots after the Rodney King incident, OJ and his trial and so forth
A different setting and different characters to make for a fresh story.
Great video! Honestly an underrated film imho. Great performances and special effects plus an early version of building a cinematic universe with the alien skull. Overall very entertaining movie
Predator 2 is underrated and the last great predator movie
I would actually agree with that. I see some people seem to give Predators some kudos but, despite some great cast members, it was such paint by numbers movie.
I think ‘Prey’ is a worthy addition. She has to learn about the Predator, and, eventually, outsmart it, like Arnold.
@@jonbodhifine movie but not so fine predator movie. Quality wise is in same ballpark as predators but way behind predator 1 and 2
One of the best Predator movies, hands down. Great acting, too.
I still don’t understand how or why PREDATOR 2 Was consider a failure and how people didn’t like it !! IN MY OPINION - It was just as good as the 1st one !! A completely different setting but still had the same feeling so how can you like the 1st but not the 2nd??? Blows my mind
No stoppin what can't be stopped! I loved this movie!
it's up there with other great sequels like back to the future 2 and die hard two, you all may hate me for saying this but compared to modern sequel these are masterpieces
Soooo Gooood! Fun, interesting, original, great cast, great direction, brilliant action!
Bill Paxton , the only man that got killed by Predator , Alien , and Terminator.
lets dance.... , game over man i cant , its laundry day, nothing clean to wear
Don't forget Lance Henrikson
I love & appreciate Predator 2, & also appreciate the casting director's choice of casting Danny Glover, in the lead. Predator 2 is incredibly underrated!! I'm glad they were able to get another chance for Kevin Peter Hall to play Predator, before his untimely, unfortunate passing, only a year or 2 later. It also stars the late great Morton Downey Jr.
I love this movie. Thank god Steven Segal didn't get the part 😂
😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Gary Busey's story with the accident is absolutely nuts. Dude is an absolute treasure and very inspiring.
Danny Glover wasn't "too old for this ish!" After tho... 😣
I have very few DVDs but one of them is T2 and P2. Both of them go hard.
"Why don't you just take my underwear?"
😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
The use of the camera and the way this movie was shot is awesome.
Beautiful video! One of my favorite movies of all Time!
I love this movie.
Me too
This movie has gotten better over time.
Pred 2 is a worthy successor.
What do you mean "what happened"?!
It was a damn good movie.
I love this movie. It's terrible 90's schlock but it's such a fun ride, and the lore they added to the Yautja was just spot on!
Predator 2 is as good as the first. It just goes so hard. Prey was so lame compared.
i LOVED IT. An urban setting made so much sense. Plus there are scenes in it I quote all the time.
It was,as good if not better than the first.
I love both movies, I still prefer the original but there are some things that 2 does better.
❤❤❤❤
I like Predator 2, its like Robocop 2, doesn't reach the heights of the first film, but still adds things that don't destroy the mythos and is fun to watch.
This is getting a lot of downvotes. How come?
Eejits that probably say Prey is a good movie.
Prey was awesome @@CDee-if9og
Right
Saw this as a kid. Loved it
P2 was fire🤌🏽
I can’t understand how this film did so badly at the cinema,it’s absolutely amazing! It’s action scenes are gory/bombastic and extremely violent. It’s character development is in depth for the main character, supporting characters and even the setting. The introduction of agent Keys and the government secret service plot line makes total sense and the addition of the predator ship expanded on the lore of the alien creature. It happens to be my mothers favourite film too lol
Great movie
Saw it on cinema and absolutely loved it. I never understood the hate towards the movie
King Willy's speech was epic. "he is from de odder siiide...de spirit world , mahn! You cannot see de eyes of de demohn...till him com calling...."
I absolutely LOVE this movie! Like Hellraiser 2, it has a cheesy charm and a sense of humor, plus expands the lore in a natural way.
I was already a huge Danny Glover fan so I absolutely loved watching him throw hands with a predator. One of my favorite movies to this day.
