Thank you for this video. I bought some today from the farmers market and will make some tincture with it. Michael Castleman writes in his book, that just 5 drops of tincture is needed a day, and that both kinds of mistletoe work the same way despite the talks.

Excellent job of explaining the history of the Mistletoe Gregg. I always wondered why people used it on Christmas and why they kissed under it. You have a way of explaining things that keeps it entertaining and knowledgeable at the same time. It's very good to know that it is not good to eat any part of it. I now have it burned into my brain that this is one of the LOOKS PRETTY BUT LEAVE ALONE plants if I happen to encounter one. That is a good thing because those berries would look very tasty if a person were hungry enough. Thanks my friend. Have a Merry Christmas!

Interesting story about the mistletoe I didn't know they used the leaves and I didn't know the berries were poisonous. I prefer to use herbs instead of modern medicine because of the danger of today's drugs nice video.

Mistletoe goes back to the ancient Scandinavian legend that Balder the god of peace was killed with an arrow made of mistletoe
The other gods & goddesses were very upset at his death , so Balder was restored to life. After this mistletoe was given to the care of the Goddess of Love and it was declared that everyone who walked under mistletoe should receive a kiss
The kiss was to remind people that mistletoe was an emblem of love. Not hate:))
In small doses mistletoe is a wonderful nervine Calming & strengthening the nervous system & brain
It was The medicine for seizure disorders
And Saint Vitus Damce for many years due to this wonderful effect of calming & regulating the nerve impulses throughout the CNS
Also beneficial in small amounts for insomnia and high blood pressure
And gives excellent results when combined as a tea with valerian and chamomile
(Especially when related to stopping narcotic drugs)
In large doses it is a powerful stimulant and emetic.
Hence it’s important use in cases when pregnancy required termination
It is not a toxic herb as you implied
The key is “appropriate doses “
There are soaring charts available online
And Dr Christopher Herbal Legacy (google)
is an excellent herbal information resource
I am a herbalist and hope you will revive my knowledge with the good intentions with which it is sent

Kissing under the mistletoe is a late 18th century English tradition.
Its inclusion in the Balder story appears to be a modern retelling designed to give a pagan spin to a Christmas custom.

Yes, just like many other so called christmas traditions, they come from pagan practices. To long to go into all of them. But using viscum album to reduce blood pressure works, I use it as a tea. Also hoping the cancer will not come back. But that will take longer to know.
