    Ryan I know that harvesting in the snow sucks. It sure does make for beautiful footage though. Especially for us in the South that don't get to see it that much. The harvest footage with all the geometric shapes and designs was truly a sight to see. Thanks for a wonderful VLOG.

    A heavy duty brush guard would be a worthwhile investment for your truck! It's not a matter of if, but when with deer, especially this time of year. I've got a few notches in my vehicles, unfortunately. I worked for a large regional trucking company for 29 years and they thought the investment was worth buying about 3500 of them, and it payed off! At the least, you usually end up with fiberglass damage, lights, bumpers and possibly radiator. Not to mention it scares the crap out of you and worst case scenario, causes a loss of control accident. Hard to train yourself not to swerve to avoid, but you have to! Great drone footage in this episode! Beautiful!!

    I had one automatic on the farm - it was my good “town” pickup. First auto I owned. I don’t have anything automatic on the farm anymore except for the power shift tractors. It was just something you didn’t have around here - grandpa always convinced us they get stuck easier in the sand in western Kansas. My wife can’t help drive anything at harvest as it all has a clutch and “it’s too big” - city gal.

    Hey Ryan you should check out the TH-camr Sasnak. Super nice guy and full of information. Watch episode 156 hoe to shift an 18 speed transmission. Maybe send a message asking the next time he’s in the area to stop in and give you a quick lesson. Keep practicing and you’ll find it’s easier that a regular car or pickup.

    Nice video Ryan! We had 3 inches a week before harvest even started, about 1 inch in the middle of corn harvest, and a few flakes at the end, but ended up finishing on a sunny day. Snow has definitely been fun this year! Looking forward to the rewind and final harvest video! Keep it up!

    In the past when we plowed, we would use a 24 hr timer to turn on the block heater about 4 hrs before the time to start. Here on the Texas high plains most winter mornings are 5 to 20 degrees but the sunny afternoons are about 30 to 40 degrees warmer.

  • @bowshott007
    @bowshott007 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ve only been driving a year. But you seem to have really gotten the shifting down so far. It’s that little pause in between gears that makes each truck different. I like fast shifting trucks for my job. But if I was pulling heavy or on a farm. I think a longer shifting truck would be better. I still struggle with backing. But on a farm you deal with more backing before you 16 than most guys do in their life.
