Found one several month ago by my drive way and because we are a Samsung family we didn't have an apple charger. My niece came over and loan me her's. I followed your instructions and was able to get in. All was erased but that's cool. Thanks!

as soon as I do the first step (pressing home button and plugging in cable), an error comes on PC screen saying "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. An unknown error occurred (1619)."

Thanks so much for this vid! It worked on an iPod touch 5th gen that my kids had accidentally locked. I had tried to follow other instructions, but they failed to mention what you said about holding down the power button before plugging in the cable. That definitely was a game changer and we're up and running now. Thanks!

Windows or other system??
I know another way 2 fix this type of problem,
Step 1: grab a heavy object
Step 2: Smash your device with that heavy object until the device won't turn on anymore
Step 3: Bring your broken device somewhere to get repaired so that way they would most likely need 2 factory reset your device and also your device would be repaired at the same time
P.s. you are looking at an estimated amount of 400-550$ so make sure you have that with you when you get it repaired
Well umm with that 550 buy a new phone
or if you just take it to a place then They can factory reset out for hundreds less.

Worked for me! The problem I had before seeing this video was that I held the Home button for too long before plugging in the USB. This might make a difference for you. I initially thought to hold the Home button for a while just to make sure the Ipod recognized what was going on before plugging in the USB. PLUG IN THE USB QUICKLY AFTER HOLDING THE 'HOME' BUTTON. This might help some!

Thank you so much!!! Apple is help bullshit! they're not helpful at all. they keep saying connect the device to itunes and then restore, when you can't connect your device to itunes if you haven't put on the passcode, and no way to do this because the device is disabled. stupid apple tech admins.

hey i actuall knew how to do this but something is wrong here first off my i pod wont turn on like it said the ipod disabled message then i turn it off and it didnt turn bac on again ... i connected it and try to restore it but after a while it said some kind of error im pretty sure is because the ipod isnt on like i connect it and itunes recognises it but the pod isnt on and my computer cant find it please help
