Nature and wildlife sounds - dawn in the South African bush

- Nature and wildlife sounds - dawn chorus in an almost dry riverbed on the border between South Africa and Botswana. This is one of the most lush and diverse soundscapes I've experienced featuring a multitude of bird species. From the low rhythmic notes of doves and hoopoes to higher pitched calls of cuckoos and kingfishers, it all creates a beautiful symphony. The occasional geese flying past provide interesting changes in the soundscape, and everything is firmly located in a very live space.
My favorite part is at 13:07 when some geese fly by and cause everyone else to start calling even louder. The ensuing racket is a beautifully organized chaos of rhythms and tones.
Recorded in 2016 in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Read more about my trip at mindful-audio.com/blog/2017/9...

Thanks! Maybe this will help pay for a coffee somewhere in your travels. I'm a pensioner, tight budget. But my parrot and I listen to your work every day. When possible, I will up your coffee to maybe a pint!
Thanks very much Paula, had a lovely espresso in Mumbai last week.
Thank you @George Vlad for the upload. Working in Dubai and listening to this, brings me back to the nature reserve in SA. 👍🏼👍🏼
My pleasure, thanks for listening Pierre.
thank you! nothing soothes the homesick like some hadedas...
Haha, not my favourite sound of the bush but certainly reminiscent of it.
Looking forward to my 3 week break in Kruger National Park in September.
Enjoy!
I wanna fall asleep to this every night from now on ❤️
Solid plan.
I love that bird that sounds like it says "Tweet tweet tweet!" 😁😁😁
That is a Red chested cuckoo, also known as piet-my-vrou in Afrikaans.

One more amazing recording
Thanks you, appreciate it.
Thank you so much for these amazing recordings. I play them at night and they help me to fall asleep peacefully, imagining when I can travel again to exotic locations as these!
Thank you for the kind words, Christine. I'm happy to hear my recordings provide a bit of solace.
When we guided foreign tourists, sometimes things got lost in translation and once in interpretation the Piet my vrou they thought was "beat my wife" 😂
That sounds like the red-chested cuckoo's call, doesn't it?
When I sleep while listening to nature, I often dream of lying in nature:-)
This has just brought so many wonderful memories to me me. Good, bad, sad and joyful too. I miss Zimbabwe and most of all i miss my holiday childhood in Murewa 😊. Thanks for the video
