Hello! Thanks very much for your meaningful video. I have a small question about interview, could you please share me your opinion? That is, should I mention my past mental health problems in university's social work interview? I feel that having this experience will give me a better understanding of other clients with mental health, but I am equally concerned that it will affect the university's view of me.

      Hi 😀
Within social work our ‘mental well-being’ is always a point of concern. If your going to mentoin it keep it within context for example .. I have experienced this .. as a result I can understand first hand what service users struggling with their mental health are going through.. equally I understand the importance of utilising supervision to have a safe place to offload.. maybe share some of your hobbies that help you to deal with stress. Don’t shy away from it 🤍 (Sorry for my late response I’ve been super busy this week)

@@sefrawills2571 No worries, Thank you very much for your answer! I also believe that stating one's own experience of overcoming mental health issues is advantageous for the social work profession. But (I believe with social work ethics they shouldn't be, but) is it possible that an admissions team could be biased against an individual because of this? Would it be more prudent to illustrate this in other ways, such as using an example of someone close to you who has experienced mental health issues?
