I am satisfied with my competition pistol. I got mine nib for under 700. I installed a Wilson Combat mag release. I also removed the 80 series firing pin block and replaced it with a shim from brownell. I have several Colt 1911's and the blueing of the competition is not as nice as say my Wiley Clapp models but for the price the competition is a good pistol. It is more accurate than I am for sure.
I use brand new fmj ammo but i still encounter feeding problems. The slide would not close bec the ammo gets stuck in the chamber in a slanting position. My pistol is brand new and so with the factory-supplied magazines. Any suggestion to solve it? Thanks
I check google Roy no results l looked on all tru glo, fiber optic, Amazon still no luck. I figured someone watching your videos would know. Thank you for your videos and responses
@@fmgpubs I searched google and found BullsEye fiber optics. They have several different colors their shipments are fast. I got the blue, green and orange. Thank you for the help.
I agree blue front sight is worthless and I had to remove it first week. Since then have struggled with accuracy. Sent it back to Colt who send it back with a pathetic 10 yard bullseye that was embarrassing for them. Since then I have had everyone in my Bullseye group shoot it and they all had similar results. Like the looks of the pistol, the weight, the trigger, but there is no way it has a national match barrel that is competition ready out of the box unless you want to lose every competition. My Springfield Range officer and cheap Easter Europe pistols shoot circles around this gun.....Very disappointed.........
Steve Tretakis - Mine came with the red insert already installed. The gun came with a package of inserts in different colors so you can switch out to any of your choice for the front sight. Not crazy about the blue insert either.
Gday......so did my red sight that just jump off during a shoot....replaced it with the supplied blue rod....heated both end sides to a nice round ball and Wah lah after over 1000 rounds .....it jumps off.....sadly in Australia .....I have not be able to access the exact size.......emailed Novak who say that they cannot deliver to outside USA......contacted Colt.....no reply......why install parts that u cannot ship out to outside of USA.......otherise the 1911 is a beauty......
Thks LeetSkeet....... sadly it has something to do with some form of weird USA trade regulations..... sadly.... the suppliers in Australia have the 0.02, 0.04 sizes but not o.o6 that fits the Novak.......and all the suppliers on Amazon n Ebay who had the 0.06 sizes DO NOT ship to outside of US.....even when I asked it to be posted to a friend address in states n I will pay from Australia...... so I ended up getting my mate in States pay n purchase them n she posted it to me......such a huge hassle just to get a small piece of fiber optic rod.......
@@kumaug04 wow that sounds terrible, maybe replace the front sights with one of those night site/fiber optic combos? I'm not sure about their quality compared to traditional fiber optics but there are some reputable companys that make them.

William johnson the new ones come as 70 series
how's the performance of your Colt Competition? I'm thinking of buying the Competition 45 stainless.
still love my 70'model
Gorgeous.
Colt changed this to a 70 series in 2017.
I want a 1911 and 2011 for IPSC from colt with a reversible or ambi mag-release for me being a lefty.
jetfunnel and stuff included of course :)
if you want a 2011 0r 1911 for IPSC get the Metroarms MAC models they are fitted by a gunsmith.
This pistol is only for production Match because it's a production gun , this is not a custom gun.

Can the Colt 38 super use the bullets 38 super +P 125 gr. V-Crown JHP? What type of bullets do you recommend? Thank you in advanced.
Loving my CCP! It's as handsome as it is reliable. Dual recoil system for the win!
Colt Competition 45 stainless will be my next 1911.
My brand new pistol is having feeding problems in all factory-supplied magazines. I was so disappointed
After one trip back to Colt and $450 of Wilson Combat parts and magazines, its became shootable

Love my colt gold cup. I would like to get the blue fiber optic sights. Any suggestions on where I can buy them?

@ POLICE THAILAND
I noticed the bottom of the slides on these "showcase" models have a nice bevel to them compare to what you actually get from the dealers.
No ambidextrous safety. Happy for righthanders.
they should checker the front strap with magwel
Nice.
Is there a .50 Chinese version?!
Norinco
