How come everyone shows the same so called solutions on this issue and they do not work. It is amazing how many people make these videos that are exactly the same and the crazy part is that it does not work and the fact that anyone with any sense knows that this is the first and obvious thing you try.
In my case I had to update the Explorer Patcher which is a program that allows you to be able to make changes back to how you had them before getting Windows 11 like moving your taskbar to the left side of your screen instead of the bottom, not sure if you have the explorer patcher but if you do then that could be what you need to do.@@rayszczepanski9049

I realize that this didn't work for quite a few of you, but of course people that it didn't work for probably post at a 10 to 1 ratio vs people that it was very helpful. I followed these steps and after the 3rd step my problem was solved. I tried other methods and NONE of them worked until I watched and followed the instructions in this video. Back in my working days (been retired for about 5-7 years now) I used to know Windows inside out having taught Operating Systems various time at the university level. But since I've retired I hate to admit it, but I've gotten lazy and don't spend nearly enough time experimenting with Windows so I'm not as sharp as I used to be. Because of that I really appreciate the creator taking the time to post this video. And for those that it didn't solve your problem, keep trying but don't insult or trash the person that has really tired to help you.
Windows explorer constant crashes for me now, constantly have to do CTRL, ALT , DELETE and jump into the task manager several times to get it to resume as normal for 1 minute before it crashes again. none of these solutions work for me. I cant click start menu, any icons, everything freezes except the window I was already on.

Hello everyone! I used patches for Windows 11 that got buggy and I uninstalled them. And I got thus glitch. When I booted into Windows, I pressed Win+X and the glitch stopped and the only thing that was missing is the taskbar. I followed the steps and it is now working. Thank you so much!

Thanks for putting this together but unfortunately, none of these worked for me. I'm on Windows 11 and my file explorer won't open/respond suddenly. I ended up resetting my PC to fix the issue. I was able to keep my personal file but the reset uninstalled some of my apps.
yeah tough luck, it opens but when I click on any other location within the explorer , it just freezes. I've been trying to fix this for 2 weeks! I've tried deleting values in the registry, used a restore point, recovery bullshit and still nothing worked. it's so sad :(
it might be your indexing and search feature you can try to end it with task manager or rebuild it , it might solve the issue of hanging file browser on start
after I was assisted remotely by a Microsoft assistant who tried every option again, the only solution was to reinstall Windows using the method of keeping the files, so all the programs were deleted
So I have a problem with the folder I keep my Photoshop files/creations in. When I try to search in it, it crashes every time. It's on the desk top. I ran all your fixes but it didn't help. I moved the file to the internal backup drive and no problem. Any suggestions?
Make sure you have enough space atleast 20 to 50 GB also Try Repairing Windows Search cmd then run as admin and execute the following 3 commands one by one- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Restart. Once Done Trying Running System File Checker SFC Scan sfc /scannow Restart. Windows Updates- Install all the latest Updates and then Restart the PC.
Look at this for a moment, brother. When I try to launch Chrome, it seems like file explorer opens instead of Chrome, and even the scroll doesn't seem to work. Type doesn't work properly, cursor goes left side of the word. Help me, brother.
None of these worked, but I found the solution for me. Open File Explorer -> click view -> details pane Something about the preview pane causes the crash.
