Honestly I’d still buy it. Boulder puncher is a bit over the top for me, one of the things that started the identity crisis the franchise had. But hey it’s iconic with Chris Redfield after a decade and a half. So I can’t say much.
@@yaboidre5672 Maybe they can make the boulder smaller ? The remakes seem to be taking a realistc aproach but still mantaining some crazy stuff. I think they will make the boulder much smaller so it´s more belivable for Chris to move it with his fists.
this is something im actually wanting to make a video about because it annoys me too! Literally only found one coop game (A Way Out) that was local multiplayer and was fun playing.
Re5 is a good game but it was 500 times better because of co-op if they don’t even have that probably won’t buy it (that’s coming from someone who’s favorite Re game is Re5)
You make a good point. But i also feel that the reason they bring remakes out is to cover up for the fact that newer titles dont have that old-school horror element. I may be wrong. Newer games would be good, but if they can nail the remakes, then im all for it@@hotcoldman77

The beginning, where everything happens so quickly and you get the overwhelming crowds of enemies, needs to be at night instead of day. Day makes it more comfortable because you see where everyone is coming from where at night (maybe with like building lights and torches to even the lighting) you can get snuck up on and there is more fear. When Chris first shows up to Kujuju (or whatever it’s called lol) it should be at sunset and after they meet the informant and get their weapons, it should get dark, almost night. Then after the first encounter, when everything picks up, it should be pitch black night.
I was actually speaking to a friend about this! When I first played this, I didn’t even feel scared at all. There was no sense of urgency or strategy. I felt pretty safe as it was day light. So I get what you mean. They HAVE to include way more night time segments in the remake!
tbf i found the daiylight horror aspect of RE5 always one of its strongest parts. Always expecting the bad stuff to go down at evenings (CV, RE1, RE2, RE3 a large chunk of RE4 etc) makes it all the more horror when the bad stuff goes down in brought daylight. Especially the swamp area and the second half of the initial town were really good examples of this to me.
Yeah this was new to me too. It was strange experiencing 80% of the game in broad daylight. They did ok in keeping it a little jump-scary. But I would still be keen to see more night time aspects to the game. Basically, the remake is a time to make things right!
Very controversial but RE5 was my favorite one growing up and that's probably because of the coop. I was able to have so much fun beating the campaign with different friends multiple times.
One thing I think they, and the industry, need to get right is keeping the DLC in the damn game. I think one of the main things undetectedly dragging down the industry is that people just don't feel a sense of progression or completion in games because, back in the day, we would play them to unlock stuff, and now, it's either all basically unlocked right away or it's to be paid for with money, meaning actually playing the game has no reward.
Spot on. Its why i dont actually play many newer games because there's no fun in it. Separate Ways as a DLC was the ultimate insult. I could be wrong, but i dont think these damn companies need more money.
I think they need to incorporate more coop aspects too. Maybe sections where the two characters are separated, and one is without weapons, and the other player has to guide and defend them.
I was actually thinking this the other day when speaking with a friend. They did do a small section in the underground bit where one character holds a lantern and the other defends, but it was too one-dimensional. They have the opportunity to really diversify the coop gameplay in the remake and i hope they do it!
No thanks. Kijuju was Tricell's African branch terrority, Wesker only worked in the shadows-- taking reports and giving orders to Tricell. The fact that Kijuju bordered a country beset in a civil war/border war with another country only made things easier for him to keep everything under wraps from the global authorities.
My favorite part of RE5 was the fact every weapon could have infinite ammo. It's not confined to a select few weapons. It allows you to truly customize how you play.
Before RE4 Remake I would have hated to hear RE5 is getting a remake. But seeing how they’ve contextualized the original series with modernized RE horror successfully, I’m pretty confident that they’ll be able to bring horror back into RE5. With 2,3,4 and now 5 running on the same engine it’ll feel much more cohesive as a series than before.
D.C. Douglas HAS TO come back as Albert Wesker. He's portrayal of the character is why RE5 is my personal favorite entry in the series in a guilty pleasure kind of way.
Well I believe he also used his status as Wesker's VA to groom a few fans and be generally creepy, I highly doubt he's coming back, and if those allegations are true, I'd rather him not.
I can’t wait til we get a RE6 remake that everyone hates, and then Capcom makes a RE7 remake to revitalize the franchise, while also making and RE2 remake-remake
I have mixed feelings about an re6 remake. If they do, and by some divine miracle they pull it off, then I’ll be all for it! I feel they owe it to fans to remake it to make it right
That would be pretty epic. Or, even have code Veronica remake (if it ever comes out) as fixed camera as well as over the shoulder? As in, you can choose how to play it
@GameRevisit Not really it fixed cameras angles or first person view on Code Veronica no over the shoulder cameras that Resident Evil 1 remake on option for fixed cameras angles or over the shoulder.
I'd like to see them give Jill the sheva role and give sheva the josh role it'll add new mystery for old fans to who the cloaked figure could be and bring krauser back for 5
@@GameRevisit I know I'm getting ahead of myself because I know a remake has not been confirmed, but I know a large majority of the fanbase does want a CV remake so I'm pretty confident it will be released eventually...
I love that in RE5 had secret weapons you could buy only after fully upgrading certain weapons! It was awesome my first time playing through because I never knew which guns would unlock secret weapons so I made it my life mission to fully upgrade every single weapon trying too find all the secret weapons 😅
Same here! But I worry now that they’ll make it in-game purchases as opposed to actually incentivising you to completely upgrade it. Nowadays, there’s no real reward for completion and upgrading weapons. All you gotta do is buy it and you’re golden!
Just make playing with Sheva optional. Or to choose between Chris and Sheva like on the original RE. Also, give her own infinite ammo and life bar like the Revelations games do.
I played it in speed runs a long time ago and I can say the AI is not a problem if you know how to use it. Take her guns away in certain parts of the story. Give her certain guns. Never give her health sprays or anything related to healing. Learn to work with it and she won't be a problem.
@@GameRevisit she's a beast with a sniper. She's awful with explosives and healing. Three things worth remembering. Once you got the game memorized you know where she'll be useless and when she'll be useful. Easy. When useless she's better off weaponless.
And have many more throughout the game ffs. Underused enemies. Get creative with the crocodiles. I dunno, give some of them big parasites in the already scary maws.
They arent zombies. Weird flex but IRL there are bigger crocs than the albino one in the wetlands. Ttalking...up to 6 something meters. Loolong or whatever.
@@cactusmann5542 it's been a while since I played the game but I remember thinking that more infected animals should've been a bigger more numerous threat
The older builds of 5 didn't just feature the "daylight horror" aspect but also the related properties of heat waves, distortions, possibly dehydration to take a toll on the character's awareness and therefore ability to react and fight. This is *somewhat* touched on in the old TGS 2008 trailer and the subsequent alpha build footage which showed Chris still being solo, the Chainsaw Majini wielding the Executioner Axe (he was originally slated to be the Executioner), and Chris doing something that looked suspiciously similar to the counter-attack which Carlos received in RE 3 Remake with parry-like timing being evident. If they brought some or all of that back in some form (a parry / counter system is basically a given), it'd go a long way. And of the DLC in the Gold / Remastered addition should indeed be included as unlockables. If they want to offer content we didn't see in the original 5 at all, great, but I'd rather not they take areas, puzzles, and enemies out of the base game and repurpose them for a paid DLC ala Separate Ways. I enjoyed that DLC and what they did with it, but still. Perhaps the kicker would be for Capcom to subvert expectations in a good way and meet fan demand for a remake of CVX first. That game needs it FAR more.
Excellent points. My biggest worry is that they may do that - take chunks out the game and include them as DLCs. The amount of detail in the original was brilliant for its time - so I can’t wait to see what the new graphics and gameplay look like (if a remake Happens) For some reason, I don’t think a CVX remake will happen. I’d absolutely love to see it as it’s a hidden gem! I hope I’m wrong
This is an idea here me out why not we have Chris guilt ridden about jills death and have us play the DLC as flash backs the whole thing just spread through out the game
I hear you buddy! I like that. Another reason why I felt they could have expanded on it in the original. Given how big games are now, I say they really push it to the limit and give us a large DLC where we explore way more of the flashbacks.
Absolutely. It just wasn’t resident evil at all. I mean the whole game itself people didn’t like (except me), but I agreed. That last boss fight was just plain lazy.
I think that they need to change the story a bit. So you don't have to be with Sheva all the time. Co-op is fun with a friend. But also takes away the horror of the game. And the game lacked scary moments enough as it did. But more importantly, Wesker's story needs to change. He went from a brilliant behind the shadows type of guy, to a cliché villain. If they insist on killing him off again, at least it should be in a less ridiculous way than blowing him up in a volcano with an RPG.
I’m so glad someone else agrees! Wesker turned out to be some flawed old-school villain who faltered in such a cliched way. I didn’t like it. They should have still kept the mystery element and made him a puppet-master of sorts. But the RPG thing was just as bad as Chris punching boulders. One of the biggest reasons I’m keen for a remake is to see what they do to the story. After the shambles of re3, I hope they listen to fans!
RE5 was one of my favorite games ever made. It has given me countless hours of fun and I have lost track of how many people I have played it in coop with. I feel if they added the control scheme and health mechanics of RE6, and added in some horror, this game would be even better. I also would like there to be more cooperative puzzles aside from the laser room. Also, I think they should try to move away from things that were simply copied over from RE4, such as the chainsaw enemy, and the gigante. Also, fix it so that Sheva doesn't have to be dedicated left hand. I assume they tried to force this because of couch coop play, but they easily could've added an option to not have to do that. Also, I'd love for Lost in Nightmares and Desparate Escape to be expanded upon. No lie, I'd honestly love if each of those DLC campaigns could be a few hours long in length.
Honestly i couldn’t wait to do Lost in Nightmares and I really hoped it would be longer! I so hope they expand on it because there’s so much you can do with it. I enjoyed it don’t get me wrong, but it could have been longer for sure. But I’m with you also, I’ve spent hours upon hours playing that game and I never got bored!
@@GameRevisit Yeah, as great as Lost in Nighmares was... I couldn't help but think "that was it?" once it was done. I was thinking that waas only going to be the first chapter of 5 or something lol. What Lost in Nightmares was... I really would've liked the entirety of RE5 to be. Scarier, more tense, more survival-horror feeling, and of course, this was all done WITH coop. If they could somehow remake RE5 so that it has that same level of intensity that Lost In Nightmares had... we might have a new best RE game on our hands, no joke.
@@GameRevisit I suppose Leon is getting a complete character ark, Wesker is getting more buildup, Jill will probably have something to do in RE9, and maybe we could return to Spencer Mansion?
One thing I'd like to see is more character development. I would really like to see a more in-depth relationship between Chris and Sheva. Though RE5 is my favorite RE game, everyone felt too one-dimensional. Maybe them hating each other at first and then learning to really care about one another would be nice. I only have high hopes for a remake in the future.
You actually make a good point - that would be something that I would like! They just sort of, dive into the game without any real meaningful background of the characters. The game just thrusts both of them into the game and there’s no real development. I didn’t actually pay too much attention to that so that’s a Good point!👌
That added conflict would make things too messy. Chris is dealing with losing Jill _and_ a partner he hates? Players would not find Chris & Sheva likable for most of the story. Sheva could simply have more dialogue getting to know Chris and trying to cheer him up. Or it could be introduced that Chris led some training where he got to know Josh and/or Sheva. Just a bit more to make the two partners closer.
Also a good point. Didnt actually think of this. It would be interesting to see what the devs up doing then! Either way, having some sort of character development would be good as RE5 was just quite vague @@DoubleBeast
@@GameRevisitchris desperately needs character development esp for newer fans, since new fans only know him from his appearances in 7 and 8,thy dk hw important he is to the overall story, and honestly after the way capcom has written leon in 4R,i have faith, hell they fixed ashley of all characters, above tht: they actually made the villains (los illuminados) well written and creepy, srsly this is the 1st time ive ever taken them srsly, and i played the OG back whn it came out,and hot take but : Wesker needs to b scarier both mutated design and character, like i love wesker alot, but the guy never scared me,at all,and his mutated form was so bland and generic, which baffles me esp considerin hes arguably the main RE villain (aside from umbrella founder spencer) infact, the enemies in 5 never struck me as iconic or memorable, thy were just rehashed designs of 4s enemies (2s also if u count the licker) and for God's sake capcom, fix uroboros and enemies created by it,make it have more visual/lore impact;this is supposed to b weskers masterpiece,so it should b alot more thn just black tentacles and weird cockroach enemies tht arent even scary
I don't see any way you both keep the co-op and improve on the horror aspect of this game. Part of REs horror atmospheric charm is being alone and secluded, not knowing what lurks behind each corner and summoning the courage to face it on your own. I'd rather they take RE5's scenario and break it into two separate campaigns. One for Chris and one for Sheva. You can have moments where the two meet up and work together for specific scenarios but 90% of the time they should be tackling their objectives separately, that would make for a way scarier game. RE4 struck that great balance between action and horror cause it was only ever Leon you played as, especially with the gruesome ways Leon could die. They need to bring back that as well in RE5 (which was severely toned down in the gore department when it came to the over the top deaths of characters).
Never thought about having two campaigns, seems like a good shout. I think resident evil 5 is going to be such a hard one to remake because finding that blend of atmospheric horror and action is where the gold is for all of us. But you make a good point re the separate campaigns
Sheva Ai is not a problem anymore its 2024 now devs have an advance engine now like what they did to luis and ashley on re4Remake so devs must focus on the other aspect of the game
Am i the only one who would discard the co-op for good and make a separate campaign for Sheeva like the one for Ada in RE4 remake? I know that's unlikely to happen because it's highly tied to the story but for me it was just frustrating to manage an AI character. No matter how good the AI is, she will always waste ammo or healing items unless you take everything away from her and in that case she is pretty much Ashley from RE 4.
You do make a good point and I would understand why Capcom would do that. Personally I quite enjoyed the AI aspect - even though she did waste a tonne of ammo😅. But the remake would have a chance at really refining the AI and making it smarter!
One RE game I feel had so much potential but also room for improvement was outbreak. That one wasn't as popular as the others though, so perhaps not a remake candidate from the developer's standpoint.
Yeah Outbreak 1 I really enjoyed! The group element to it was really good. I genuinely thought there was some potential there but everyone I knew didn’t seem to like it.
In the RE4 remake, they removed some silly parts from the original like the lava room, the giant statue. They need to do away with that too if they're remaking RE5. There's a way to make an interesting final Wesker fight not in a volcano. They need to do away with the teleporting Wesker ot the rocket grabbing stuff, it's absolutely ridiculous and take away the horror of the game. There are surely better ways to showcase Wesker super strength.
Really. I had a less frustrating time with RE0 zapping system than I did with Sheva. The a.i. better turn out better than we think. I really want Chris and Jill to kill Wesker! No offense to Sheva, but if Wesker dies again, it has to be from both Chris and Jill!
Maybe I just suck haha! But I just couldn’t get used to the zapping system on what was otherwise a pretty decent game. I mean I spent ages in the train section and then realised there was a whole game beyond that section! But I’m with you on this. Make the AI better, and let’s make it personal by having either Chris or Jill kill Wesker!
I'm thinking ya I liked Sheva. And yup she was hot, not that that matters but hey it helps. Hind sight is 20 20 and yrs later her storyline like Carlos in Re3 hasn't been in another game. So I guess take her out and just keep in Jill! Re write this game to b better more scary and creepier with a merchant!! I'm hoping they use Carlos in the future cause y even remake him? I liked him especially the way they reimagined him. I hope the PC crowd doesn't cry over my proposal cause I'm sincere.
Yes to the merchant! The original one in part 5 was just useless and added nothing at the start. But I’m with you. When 3 was remade, I was keen to see what they would do with Carlos and oh boy, what an absolute let down!!’
I remember dying to the insta tap bugs without even thinking twice because the environment left me feeling no fear or intimidation i mean the noises after activating the one lever the bug made had me a bit scared but like i saw the bug and thought nothing of them for the first few deaths then i actually woke up and realized i needed to use my intelligence a bit more but then i realized you can insta tap them with a shotgun in the main heart spot as they chase you slowly i hope they give us some more horror but either way i support capcom because they are one of the last tripple A devs who actually strive to aim and make their games better
I feel the same too - I might be wrong, but Capcom always deliver. Apart from the resident evil 3 remake which they could have given more love too. They were too focused on the Nemesis battles and making it epic that they missed out huge chunks of the original! But I’m with you on that. More horror and intelligence as opposed to all out action!
@@GameRevisit without a doubt Re3 remake was lacking and in ways it feels their minds were so focused on the action that they left no space for much horror
4:14 if they give lost in nightmares the same treatment they gave 4Rs separate ways if not better, thn thtd b awesome, hell capcom would easily b able to reuse its assets for when they reimagine 1 again if they ever decide to do tht
Inventory bigger for sure! But I quite liked the ammo sharing element. Made me think more while I was playing it - although it doesn’t help when Sheva literally sprays bullets and goes trigger happy
Crapcom already failed when they fu*ked up the story for RE2 and RE3 ReMake. Crapcom could have taken everything from the Original RE2 and RE3:Nemesis and expanded upon those two games, hell, they could have taken a good few elements from RE:Outbreak... but that would have been too good if they did so, plus Crapcom hates their old fans and wants to cater to Zoomer Speed Runners, Fortnite types, and whiny "I cAn't Be BoThEred to leArn tHe MecHaNics sO mAkE ReSidEnt EviL liKe tHiS oTHer oVer thE ShOulDer Or LiKe CaLl of DuTy/HaLo shOoteR" it's actually quite annoying at this point so I'm just waiting for some other game company to make a good survival horror to replace RE.🙄😒
That’s exactly it. At no point did I feel like it was dedicated to the loyal fans of the original. Re3 was the biggest let down and it literally was designed to speed run. Such a sucky thing for them to do
One thing i really disliked about the original RE5 was entirely Wesker I never understand why people says Wesker is the best villain (probably because is the only iconic) but for someone who was created to be like a super human, high intelligence, the new god of the new world of evolution, he did many crucial mistakes that only Disney villains do. Talk your whole plan to Chris. You see, if Wesker was more careful in choosing Irving as "ally", literally if the guy wouldn't spoke about the ruins cave, we wouldn't even located it (Sheva also didn't know about this ruins), Excella really was the worst ally Wesker had, literally she said the whole plan of Uroboros and oddly enough she was the only one in charge of creating the "PG67A/W" if you eventually would betray your partner... at least learn how to do the dosis and inject it by yourself... Finally Wesker talking the whole battles explaining what he is going to become with Uroboros, and having ten chances to eliminate Chris... but preferred as a 70s Bond Villain, keep explaining the plan.. xd Just hopefully Capcom fix this plot holes or illogical situations, as we saw in the RE4 that even they improved Ashley, Luis and Krauser personalities
Yeah I get you. They ruined Wesker in re5. There wasn’t any originality with him. He was just too predictable in it and you’re right, there were gaping plot holes which I hope they fix. I didn’t mind Excella, but they gotta rework her and not make her so stupid. Irving I don’t mind also, but I’d like to have seen him more involved in the game.
Man, I think Resident Evil really needs to remake 1 before jumping into Code Veronica, 5, 6, etc. the new Jill in RE3R keeps making me wonder how the events in the Spencer Mansion went down in this new timeline/reality.
What it also needs is improved single player experience as a whole. Like the item menu. Maybe another merchant? Iirc The guy who gets his head chopped of at The beggining of the game was originally supposed to be a similar merchant as in re4, but it was scrapped. I like the ideas what Capcom originally had in mind for Re5 over all and i do hope they will take inspiration from there into the remake. The zapping system from re0 is also cool idea!
I tried so hard to get into the zapping system from 0 but I just didn’t enjoy it😭 But more gun customisation would also be neat. I thought the original was too basic. It just felt the same as re4 and there wasn’t much personalisation to it.
O ya speakin of puzzles : for a civilization (ndipaya) that was ruled bk in the day by a superhuman king with increased intelligence, givin rise to technology and architecture that shouldnt havr been possible in the neolithic age,it was pretty generic and weak in the game, like those "puzzles" looked like they were made by a bored kid,not a superhuman hyper intelligent king
Let solo players set up their own finishers. Drives me mad all those years playing RE5 through secondary school days and not being able to enjoy all the awesome character finisher attacks, without a second player. Easy fix but significant.
Other than what you brought up, the only chang I'd like to see aside from some story missions is that they keep the co-op but make it play like the RE4 remake. Knife parry and such. Not so much action that its comically ridiculous but just enough to feel like "damn I'm getting overwhelmed, gotta play it smart"
THIS! At no point in the original did i really feel like i was out of ammo or needed to play smart. So that is something i sure hope they bring to the remake! Action but with a little tactical play too (not just item swapping which i loved in the original)
another thing i wanna see is have the executioner majini have more screentime.. we only saw it on the first chapter only. maybe have it as another enemy type kinda like the bull man from re4 remake
See I actually wouldn’t mind it as it gives Capcom a chance to fix it as I felt The original was a dumpster fire! But if they didn’t remake it, I wouldn’t miss it
@@GameRevisit RE6 was definitely not as strong as RE5, but I still found it to be a pretty fun game nonetheless. With all the other RE games, the remakes are a way to just expand and innovate on what was already done, a remake for RE6... would be more like a redemption. I still enjoy RE6 as it is, but I would be pretty pumped to see it remade, and maybe made less action oriented and somehow... with more horror added in lol
It can work so long as they live up to these criteria: Get rid of the co-op Push the gameplay to an action/adventure and survival-horror Get rid of Wesker's British accent (bring back the original Wesker voice actor). Get rid of the boulder punching Make level design non-linear. Revert Wesker's characterization back to his slimy and creepy self instead of a James Bond villain. Don't make the story very so serious and dull like the remakes since RE2 Remake. Keep the campiness intact.
Agree on the Wesker front. They ruined his character in re5. I hope they bring his old code Veronica and re 1 character back. But I think I’m alone in wanting coop in the remake! But we gotta keep the boulder punching 😂😂. It’s iconic for all the wrong reasons!
I genuinely think they should just cut out the Co-Op entirely and at best make it set pieces like they did with Luis, the gaming space was different when the original came out and everyone was pusing Tethered Co-Op experiences whether it worked or not. That said, the game has a WAAAAY bigger uphill battle dealing with Social Media judging any and everything they do involving the addressing the racism accusations the original game got and made worse by having spear chucking savage tribesmen be enemies for 1/4th of it ^^;
I think the opinion is split on this. I see the appeal for solo. But I would love the coop element. BUT - they gotta nail the horror element for it to work this time. But you’re right - I’ve got a feeling the whole Africa segment will either be reworked or they’ll remove huge chunks of it.
The biggest pain in the butt in the original😂. I’m convinced that they can fix the AI in the remake (if it ever happens). I’m sure they realised themselves when they played it how dumb the AI was at times
There absolutely needs to be less daytime segments, emphasis on the tribals and maybe infected lions/safari predators...andget ready for the woke sensitivity warning about the africans when you start the game
@@GameRevisitAnnoying how? Yeah she hits on Wesker a lot, and was a pompous rich person who wanted to rule the world. But I don't remember her annoying like Irving.
Imma be honest I’m skipping this remake if there’s no Co-op, also these games taking a more serious tone is great and all but that just isn’t gonna work for RE5, nobody loves re5 because of a detailed amazing story, it’s all about the cheese factor.
The cheesiness is the essence of it haha! It all began with Barry’s awful dialogue in the first one.. And RE would then be confined to nothing but awful dialogue that we’ve grown to love 😅
"Do this or fail" - thumbnail "Horror." Like how 5 failed originally due to its lack of horror (aka not at all)? 4 5 and 6 were all huge successes. RE4 Remake was 90% action as well and it was great and succeeded. Old Pre-4 RE games weren't scary. They were just cringey and bad. 2 Remake and 7 are the only full-blown horror games that were properly done. I'm fine with those games, but it doesn't belong in 4, 5, or 6, nor really that era with those characters in general for the most part. Maybe a Code Veronica Remake could be a more horror-like game for the Claire sections. That'd be fine.
Good insight. On the topic of code Veronica, it was the only game I felt that was close to the originals - so making a remake would be quite intriguing! But I agree that re2 remake and 7 were the games we all craved!
RE5 Dosen't need a remake. They should stop the numbered remake train at 4. 5 and 6 are good the way they are. I want Code Veronica... and as much as I love the RE remake on GameCube... I really want to see the original get the RE2 remake treatment as well!
Good insight! I see why some people wouldn’t want a re5 remake. But I dunno, I actually think the original remake was so good that it doesn’t need a remake…but if it did get a remake, I ain’t complaining haha!
Re 3 remake was a disappointment. I’ve got a feeling they won’t do the first remake as the remake they did a while back was brilliant. Still, would love for them to do it. And code Veronica yes!
I dunno, I quite enjoyed the coop aspect! But a solo one also, I’d love that. It might be a bit of effort, but if they can make two campaigns (solo and coop) that would be swell! But that would take a s**t tonne of work so I dunno.
This is something I understand. Even though I quite enjoyed it, it’s a game where I totally get the hate and can see why people didn’t like it. Maybe if a remake came to fruition, it’s their time to rectify that
Resident Evil 5 needs to be made more scary like Resident Evil 4 remake was. RE5 is like a dumb shlock action movie. Also giving the enemies guns in the latter part of the game removed a lot of the horror elements and made it a generic shooter game like Gears of War.
That was probably my one critique of it - giving the enemies guns didn’t remove the fear factor (not that there was much of it in the game anyway). But for sure, if they remake this with more horror elements, then I’m all over this!
If Chris doesn’t punch a boulder in the remake it’s a no buy for me.
😂😂😂😂 same here!

Heisenberg already mentioned it in re8 so they’re probably gonna keep it in the remake
I really hope they keep the co-op aspect of this game, even the couch co-op aspect. I hate how every single game is only online multiplayer now.
this is something im actually wanting to make a video about because it annoys me too! Literally only found one coop game (A Way Out) that was local multiplayer and was fun playing.
Yes! They should keep it!

I demand Chris giving punches to the Rock while fighting Wesker

Going from 4 remake straight into 5 was rough asf. Hopefully Capcom can show 5 some love
Hopefully they stop with remakes completely and give us damn new games.
This remake obsession is getting out of hand smh

Agreed! It was the replayability for me that made it a standout game for me!
i actually prefered RE5 from RE4 back in a day. Hope that remake wil finally get the justice it deserves
I’m with you. I’m in the minority when I say that although re4 was simply the best, re5 was still up there!
Yeah, and, well, they won't get it if people stop having any kind of fun, or engagement with their games.@@GameRevisit
@@mixedmattaphors huh? RE2R & RE4R have a shitload of unlockables that kept repeat playthroughs fun. Seperate Ways was just a cherry on top.
I kinda feel like recontextualizing Wesker as a Dictator Figure of Kijuju would be really unique
No thanks. Kijuju was Tricell's African branch terrority, Wesker only worked in the shadows-- taking reports and giving orders to Tricell. The fact that Kijuju bordered a country beset in a civil war/border war with another country only made things easier for him to keep everything under wraps from the global authorities.
I wonder if having Luis fight alongside you during the remake was testing the ai for use with co op
My favorite part of RE5 was the fact every weapon could have infinite ammo. It's not confined to a select few weapons. It allows you to truly customize how you play.
Damn right! I replayed the game many times just to go nuts with the weapons and wreak havoc with infinite ammo😅
I honestly feel if they botch this one, don’t even bother with code Veronica or any other remakes.
D.C. Douglas HAS TO come back as Albert Wesker. He's portrayal of the character is why RE5 is my personal favorite entry in the series in a guilty pleasure kind of way.
Unfortunately I don't think he will return because he broke NDA
I never quite understood why they didnt bring him back. So if it is a NDA that makes sense!
His voice in RE5 was brilliant i must agree haha
Well I believe he also used his status as Wesker's VA to groom a few fans and be generally creepy, I highly doubt he's coming back, and if those allegations are true, I'd rather him not.
bloody heck i hope that isnt true! Madness. I might do a bit of digging and see what happened@@Hoop499

I feel they owe it to fans to remake it to make it right
"it could be a best seller"
bro, it already is THE best seller.
Cheers for watching buddy!
No fixed cameras angles on Resident Evil 5 and 6 remake. That goes to Code Veronica.
I'd like to see them give Jill the sheva role and give sheva the josh role it'll add new mystery for old fans to who the cloaked figure could be and bring krauser back for 5
Now wouldn’t that be something!😱
I really liked RE5. But I understand why people were dissapointed after RE4
Yeah. It’s one of the few games where I understood the hate.
Capcom should not remove Chris punching a boulder like not removing the "Bingo" line of Leon in RE4 Remake.
what they could do is make him just push a boulder off a ledge but punching would be better

Just VR + keep co-op. RE4 remake was pretty much perfect and my first proper VR experience, i'd just want to do it all again in RE5.
VR would be sweet for players. Lots more action. I felt sick with the RE4 one as I get motion sickness…..re 5 VR for me would be out of the question 😂
Theyve already laid thr groundwork for thr Co-op. Look at Luis in RE4 Remake. That will be how Sheva/Chris operate when playing alone i think.
If they do that, I’ll be keen to see how it works in the end
Just make playing with Sheva optional. Or to choose between Chris and Sheva like on the original RE. Also, give her own infinite ammo and life bar like the Revelations games do.
Good shout
All i want to keep is the co-op, it was a blast to play through with a friend. perhaps the setting could be treated with a little more respect
I played it in speed runs a long time ago and I can say the AI is not a problem if you know how to use it. Take her guns away in certain parts of the story. Give her certain guns. Never give her health sprays or anything related to healing. Learn to work with it and she won't be a problem.
Yeah it took me a while to really master it 😅. At first I found it annoying but as you said, just a few tweaks and the AI a absolutely fine

@@GameRevisit I played basically all the re games back to back so it was so weird to hear asthma wesker to re5’s snarky sounding wesker
The amount of detail in the original was brilliant for its time - so I can’t wait to see what the new graphics and gameplay look like (if a remake Happens)
For some reason, I don’t think a CVX remake will happen. I’d absolutely love to see it as it’s a hidden gem! I hope
I’m wrong
I just wanna see Jill battlesuit again 😂
I actually thought it was pretty bad ass!
They should change wesker final boss and ending… the vulcano boss fight is the worst fight in resident evil series
I want a great weapon system. 380 acp guns, 9mm mp5, actual 5.56 guns, 308 rifles
Yeah the weapon system imo was a bit dire in the original. Had so much potential to do a lot with it! Cant wait to see what they do with the new one.
A decent story would help as well. The ending was ridiculous and filled with plot armor.
It sure was! My biggest gripe with the game.
RE5 my favorite Resident Evil, NEED THAT REMAKE
Fingers crossed! 🤞
It would be cool if this whole remake series turns out to make a complete story that ends with RE9.
Didn’t think of that. What do you suggest they do?😊
@@GameRevisit I suppose Leon is getting a complete character ark, Wesker is getting more buildup, Jill will probably have something to do in RE9, and maybe we could return to Spencer Mansion?
Either way, having some sort of character development would be good as RE5 was just quite vague

RE5 don't need to be another horror game. It's a good game as a good third person shooter already.
I feel it can be a bit of both. I definitely did enjoy it as a standalone action game. But if it was more horror, I’d be happy with that too!
I got around that by giving sheva nothing more powerful than the submachine gun.
Shotgun and magnum stay with daddy😂
They should make a Resident Evil 3 Remake Remake first.
If only man!
Re3 remake: directors cut edition. Would be cool and needed bc re3 remake was a let down
One RE game I feel had so much potential but also room for improvement was outbreak. That one wasn't as popular as the others though, so perhaps not a remake candidate from the developer's standpoint.
Yeah Outbreak 1 I really enjoyed! The group element to it was really good. I genuinely thought there was some potential there but everyone I knew didn’t seem to like it.
Chris Redfield horror game? It'd be a rare sight to behold
Either that or he spends the whole game punching boulders 😅
In the RE4 remake, they removed some silly parts from the original like the lava room, the giant statue. They need to do away with that too if they're remaking RE5. There's a way to make an interesting final Wesker fight not in a volcano. They need to do away with the teleporting Wesker ot the rocket grabbing stuff, it's absolutely ridiculous and take away the horror of the game. There are surely better ways to showcase Wesker super strength.
1000% agree! At times I even thought it was plain ridiculous

Such a sucky thing for them to do
One thing i really disliked about the original RE5 was entirely Wesker
I never understand why people says Wesker is the best villain (probably because is the only iconic) but for someone who was created to be like a super human, high intelligence, the new god of the new world of evolution, he did many crucial mistakes that only Disney villains do.
Finally Wesker talking the whole battles explaining what he is going to become with Uroboros, and having ten chances to eliminate Chris... but preferred as a 70s Bond Villain, keep explaining the plan.. xd
Just hopefully Capcom fix this plot holes or illogical situations, as we saw in the RE4 that even they improved Ashley, Luis and Krauser personalities
RE1 has a remake already. That's why they ported an HD version of that remake before releasing RE2R (and the reason they started from there).
Although they did remake it already, I still wouldn’t mind a newer remake. Although wouldn’t be sad if they didn’t as the remake was a masterpiece!
I have my PS4 copy just in case they decide to replace africans with white redhead people from Ireland.
I have a feeling that will be the main focus of the game. The African setting is what made the game what it was.

I like the ideas what Capcom originally had in mind for Re5 over all and i do hope they will take inspiration from there into the remake. The zapping system from re0 is also cool idea!
I tried so hard to get into the zapping system from 0 but I just didn’t enjoy it😭
But more gun customisation would also be neat. I thought the original was too basic. It just felt the same as re4 and there wasn’t much personalisation to it.
I just can’t see them remaking RE5 this day and age. You know why
Yep, i get what you mean😅. Part of me thinks it won’t happen. And if it does, then they’ll remove a huge but significant portion of it.
I really enjoyed 5 but yes they definitely need more horror to it!
Hear hear! Fingers crossed 🤞
Let solo players set up their own finishers. Drives me mad all those years playing RE5 through secondary school days and not being able to enjoy all the awesome character finisher attacks, without a second player. Easy fix but significant.
Easy but significant fix indeed! I hope they Include this too!
Fix Wesker's voice from the RE4 remake.
That game doesn't need a remake
True say. I mean it really doesn’t, but I still want to see it 😂
Unlike code. V
Sheva has always been my favorite female character.
Sheva and Ada for me! And then riiiiiiiight at the bottom is Ashley😭
another thing i wanna see is have the executioner majini have more screentime.. we only saw it on the first chapter only. maybe have it as another enemy type kinda like the bull man from re4 remake
Heck yes!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who wanted to see more of him. They should include more of him
Put dc Douglass back in it please and remove that terrible voice actor from 4.
This might be a super unpopular opinion, but I really hope RE6 gets a remake as well.
See I actually wouldn’t mind it as it gives Capcom a chance to fix it as I felt
The original was a dumpster fire!
It can work so long as they live up to these criteria:
Get rid of the co-op
Push the gameplay to an action/adventure and survival-horror
Get rid of Wesker's British accent (bring back the original Wesker voice actor).
Get rid of the boulder punching
Make level design non-linear.
I genuinely think they should just cut out the Co-Op entirely and at best make it set pieces like they did with Luis, the gaming space was different when the original came out and everyone was pusing Tethered Co-Op experiences whether it worked or not. That said, the game has a WAAAAY bigger uphill battle dealing with Social Media judging any and everything they do involving the addressing the racism accusations the original game got and made worse by having spear chucking savage tribesmen be enemies for 1/4th of it ^^;
I think the opinion is split on this. I see the appeal for solo. But I would love the coop element. BUT - they gotta nail the horror element for it to work this time. But you’re right - I’ve got a feeling the whole Africa segment will either be reworked or they’ll remove huge chunks of it.
Ouroboros concept art was much more menacing than the final concept.
I hope they shed more light on this org and really flesh it out more.
Funny they cant remove the boulder punching cause in re8 heisenberg mentioned it
It’s as iconic as the corny dialogue in Resident evil 1😅
@@GameRevisit jill sandwich
I'd love to give Sheva ammo and healing items without her wasting them
The biggest pain in the butt in the original😂.
I’m convinced that they can fix the AI in the remake (if it ever happens). I’m sure they realised themselves when they played it how dumb the AI was at times
Last boss wesker need a overhawl.
1000%! That fight was a nightmare (and not in a good way)
Am I the only one who hates 4R's Wesker's voice? It's not Wesker at all.
Nope, you’re not alone my friend. I also wasn’t a huge fan of it!
There absolutely needs to be less daytime segments, emphasis on the tribals and maybe infected lions/safari predators...andget ready for the woke sensitivity warning about the africans when you start the game
Someone had to say it😂😂😂. I’m
With you. Nowadays, games and movies need to be toned back due to how insensitive people are. It does suck!
@@GameRevisit well what do you know... check out the recent 'controversy'...man, these people are so painfully predictable
They will bin; Excella, The Kipepeo, Big Man Majini, the rail section and probably crap puzzles
Puzzles are pretty crap. Though I didnt mind Excella. Maybe add some more character to her as she was pretty annoying in the original
@@GameRevisit annoying and sleazy
Why should Excella be binned? Wesker does it anyway.😆
@@GameRevisitAnnoying how? Yeah she hits on Wesker a lot, and was a pompous rich person who wanted to rule the world. But I don't remember her annoying like Irving.
@@frankkennedy6388 the sensitive little souls of today.
Horror and coop dont work. Remove sheva as a playable character and make it chris solo
True - it’ll be a massive experiment if they keep the coop element. Or if they somehow manage to pull it off, it’ll be a first indeed
RE5 is not horror.
@@SeventhheavenDK its horror
How about remaking the RE3 remake to give us a proper remake rendition of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis 😅
Honestly I can’t tell you how disappointed I was with the remake! I’m all for a remake of the remake 😂
"Do this or fail" - thumbnail
"Horror."
Like how 5 failed originally due to its lack of horror (aka not at all)?
But I agree that re2 remake and 7 were the games we all craved!
dO tHiS oR fAiL 🙄
How about we STOP with these stupid DE-makes, that are ALWAYS worse than the originals, and make the devs learn how to create NEW games again??
Also a valid point. I might be alone here, but I haven’t played a good game since 4. All the newer ones weren’t as good
I still rather they remade Code Veronic instead, Resident Evil 4 needs a remake even less then Super Metroid does.
Yeah CV was brilliant. Don’t think it got the credit it deserved. I would so be up for that remake!
No more remakes
I said the same after 3….. as it was terrible! But now it’s like crack. I want more 😂
RE5 Dosen't need a remake.
#1. Scrap the project and remake the good re games like re 1 and veronica. Maybe re make the third one as well since they fucked that up so huge.
Re 3 remake was a disappointment. I’ve got a feeling they won’t do the first remake as the remake they did a while back was brilliant. Still, would love for them to do it. And code Veronica yes!
I think single play best and as the characters coop there sud do a res2 Leon scenario and Clare’s scenario that would be class
1 minute into these babling, RE 5 need to erase AI Inventory, makke the ai like RE6 aka independent AI
The AI in re6 was pretty decent. Didn’t like the game as a whole, but I’m sure certain elements of it we’ll see in the remake (if it happens).
IT’S RACIST THO FAM
Yeah I can see why that might be the case!
@@GameRevisit Lmfaooo I’m surprised we don’t have memes yet. Or am I missing out there?
rework the whole game. get rid of sheva. make the game solo. add more indepth scenes like resident evil 2 and 3. 8 was decent. something like that
I dunno, I quite enjoyed the coop aspect! But a solo one also, I’d love that. It might be a bit of effort, but if they can make two campaigns (solo and coop) that would be swell! But that would take a s**t tonne of work so I dunno.
Are you Scottish ?
Yeah, sorry the accent isn’t easy to follow if you aren’t used to it😬
RE5 was my least favorite Re game. I just throught too much action not enough horror
This is something I understand. Even though I quite enjoyed it, it’s a game where I totally get the hate and can see why people didn’t like it. Maybe if a remake came to fruition, it’s their time to rectify that
Resident evill 5 is a trash remake if this game has no coop split screen
The opinion is split on this. I’d personally like to see the coop split screen on it!
