    Finally someone thats not afraid to hog-rout some wood, I Wass getting tired of seeing forstner bits.

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s true... my OCD hates the pin holes that are left at the bottom of cavities from the center of the forstner bit. Not saying I don’t do it... I just prefer not to.

    Very nice build and video. What is the purpose of the glue/sawdust putty between the neck and neck pocket?

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I did that in case of hairline gaps at the joint, and it seems to accept dye better if for some reason some glue is missed during sanding. It’s overkill, but most things I do are. 😆

  • @JamesKruseArtist
    @JamesKruseArtist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome, router envy lol, what sanding pads are you using on that Ebony? Are Those foam backed sanding pads?

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After 1500 grit paper, I move to the foam backed sanding paps through 12,000. At one point in that video (near the 12,000 grit), I thought I sliced my damn hand on the side of the fretboard. 😆

    What type of glue for the frets?

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just use regular titebond. It fills the voids more than anything else, and it’s easier to clean than CA.

    I'm watching this at 1.75 speed. So far, I still count ten fingers, but there're two installments left . . . I suspect this is not your first build of this sort of thing ~

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 installments left because we are only supposed to use six. 2 more build videos and a overview/demo video. And this is my first Jr. type build.
