Oh goodness, so sorry to see this…I lost MANY of my hoya after treating them with horticultural oil. Similar situation-it was not hot, but I lost SO MANY plants, including some pricy ones. It was devastating. Hugs to you. I can personally say I will not be using any oils ever again to treat my hoyas.

I’ve wondered too if there can be a residual build up with certain plants. I have an Ardisia I sprayed once and swear the leaves are still coated despite how many times I’ve showered it. Or if they are treated day vs night- stomata open or closed?
No, it is parafin oil meant to be used for plants. I find that oil treatments can go either way. I treat all 400 hoyas, and 5-6 reacted badly. Each time there is at least 1 plant that reacts badly even though before it was fine. Really odd...But i heard some other growers had a similar experience.
Interesting how this video popped up just while I was starting at my hoya patella, trying to figure out how it is possible she has croaked on me all the sudden... things happen...🤷♀️
May I ask what you were treating it for? I quit using oil for any plants after a terrible response from a maranta. Love your channel. We can depend on you to keep making interesting plant videos.

I didn’t 😂 There is no stopping it. You let it run its course and salvage what you can once the plant calms down.
Plants sure like to be dramatic. It’s always the sweet stuff that takes the downward turn like that
