Here in this country where I live currently, the government is already experimenting with chips under the skin for "a select group of the population". What qualifies for this group is of course the government itself that determines that. We have been here before as a species. Hitler and his henchmen had a similar system only it was not digital. This is a phenomenon that needs daily confrontation and any politician that fails to fight this is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
Four years later and this tech is now pervasive in the gaming industry, as each new game release wants to be given more and more access to your data. And people are dismissing critics such as myself as being paranoid.

T he message I get from Shoshana is that gathering data to make a coherent view is bad and that markets are essentially bad. This is simply yet more of the doom and gloom style writing that is so un-creative. Folk bought into surveillance with their choices and they can buy out of it the same way. If folk were particularly concerned they would only buy phones that didn't feedback data to the networks etc. "Surveillance provocation and addiction" I guess these are ominous sounding trigger words designed to sell the idea.
