I love fake food too-sheerly for the cuteness! I made a fake Harry Potter bday cake 4 years ago out of foam circles and spackle and acrylic paint-it still looks brand new. It has been on display all that time, so it has taken UV damage. You're using the right materials for longevity.

One thing that might make it easier is, when we made fake cakes with real icing we used Styrofoam. Either way you rocked that cake!!

You should've drawn out where you want the details before piping over it, you can do that because it's not real frosting.
I did start out drawing a line and then wanted to correct and it wouldn't erase so I stopped after that lol If there's another way to do it I totally will!
