The Price of the American Dream

  • Since the economic crisis of 2009, over nine million jobs have been created in America. Officially, the recession is over. But American workers have come out of the crisis more vulnerable and even poorer than ever. 46.7 million Americans live in poverty with around 15% of the US population living below the poverty line. But they aren’t unemployed - most of them have at least two jobs. They’re ‘the working poor’. Meet the people behind America’s economic recovery.

    Today March 11th 2024.
The Supreme Court is deciding if homelessness is a crime.
Also the reason employment rates are up because is because people have to work 3 jobs to pay the rent.

      NAILED it girl!
An acquaintance’s daughter is about to have her second child, and she’s 26; Mom is 50 something.
We were chatting about why responsible family planning and Plan B seems to be SO difficult.
I’m extremely grateful my 22 year old son is in college and knows he isn’t going anywhere until he gets a degree that matches mine or his father’s.
It’s such a simple, proven and just path, why do people choose an uncertain and unhealthy one?
That said, I am sympathetic to people of circumstance.
      I’ll never understand.
I’m glad there are people out there like you who do AND know right from wrong.
Love & Light from Miami Shores🦚
      Stay safe mate✌🏼🌎

The American Dream is a myth that keeps people going. You have a few amazing success stories and thousands of people struggling hard just to stay alive. But we see the first ones and leave the second unseen and unheard. If we say the economy is an engine workers nowadays are the cheapest fuel for it. I have to say, make better choices! Don't have kids at a young age and educate yourself. Network and find a career, not multiple jobs. It is tough here in America, but it can be done as long as you don't dig yourself a deep hole. Stop smoking and drinking because it's expensive and it has no nutritional value. Teach your kids to hang out with the right crowd not the wrong ones. It wasn't easy for me, but I made smart decisions and am able to live the American Dream, but there were a lot of sacrifices and at one point I almost gave up, but good thing I didn't.

The American Dream ended when the Moon missions ended. That also coincided with the defeat in Vietnam. The expenditure by government since the late 1950s arms race and space race prevented us from having things that most advanced economies provide to their citizens such as universal healthcare and a national pension. These services were gifted to the insurance industry. Since then, its only got worse as wage rates teeter at 3rd world levels. We are now left with 0.1% of the population holding 80% of the nations wealth. Both political parties are to blame because they are dominated by big business who want the gravy train to continue.

Because regardless of the hours, all jobs are counted - even part time gig jobs of which there are many more than full time jobs. So, now we have a bunch of low paying part time jobs and less of high paying stable full time jobs. The unemployment rate is highly misleading. Plus, inflation and stagnant wages makes managing life much worse.

Hardly anyone ever seems to realize that prosperity for all, and jobs do not need and should not be related in the way they are now. If you have to ‘create’ jobs for it to work, and there is poverty because there are not enough jobs, but the country is not poor, something is wrong with the system, ánd with the society you live in. And that is just one of many things that are wrong with the economy and our society, but it’s also logical if the vast majority does not even see how ridiculous, for example, the whole job thing really is.

When will people realize that we are all responsible for this and instead of pointing fingers outwardly we should look at ourselves first. Surely there are some very humble people who do not desire and ask for much and they are content with little but many of us have desired more and more. It feels so much better to blame the other side for everything but for many they aren't being honest. Nothing is impossible for the Lord God and Master, but I believe while men slept evil crept in.. If you truly believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and master and that no thing is impossible for the Lord God then you can overcome all of these things in the world! Do not be unbelieving but believing!!

From the decrease of the dollar, unaffordable health care, never taxing the rich in relevance of the workers of their undeserved wealth, making affordable college, affordable pharmaceutical perscriptions, terrible mininum wage for decades, and so on. Until you stop blinding your visibility with your MAGA dunce hat. You literally are beyond uneducated as Trump loves (from his 2016 election speech) to see that no politician will do anything right. Keep being another div8ded American, it's no wonder why even our Allies want nothing to do with us from both Republicans and Republicans to burning bridges. Check your history, not Fox, CNN, or other pointless news media.
