    In my case with the older Opel zafira was connectivity problem by the ECM , because pedal had separate power to both pedal position signals, and one of them has bad connection with the ECM, in case sometimes missing one of the signals.

    Hi, I have a 2003 Fully Automatic Astra Elegance, its throwing up the codes P1700 and U2106 and starting off in 2nd gear. My garage have sent the ECU off to ECU testing who having now received the unit say that they cannot test or repair it. I wondered if you could help? I have no idea what to do for the best now to get the car back on the road. Thanks Sarah

    My Astra 1.7 cdti sxi cut out driving along the other day like it ran out of petrol, wouldn't start for 5 mins then fired up drove about 50 yards then done the same got it started after about another 10 mins trying then it fired up got about 100 to 150 yards then cut out again eventually got it started and pulled into MacDonald's to get recovered tomorrow, apparently some wire or something on the ECU burns out, need to find out how much it is to replace the ECU or can you just change the chip

    Hi, I did an ecu reset on my Meriva A 1.6 because I always had errors on the carburetion (despite having replaced the lambda probe and manifold pressure probe).
    After the reset I had to reprogram the immobilizer.
    From after the first ignition the engine runs at 3 (cylinder 2 misfire error) will it be a coincidence that I have melted the coil?

    good morning, great video. My corsa (2007 1.4) started having a/c issues (it would stop cooling randomly), then I noticed the cooling fan started to act, and eventually, the engine management light came on. I took the car to the shop, they say me there is a problem with the ECU and they have to send it to a specialized company to refurbish it. 400 quid. What do you think, does it sound legit to you? Thanks.

    Great Video Pal, very informative and clear instructions. However, i seem to have run into trouble if you can throw some light please- I did Reset the Old ECU using security code, swapped with a replacement one that came along with a PIN (or security code). Went to program the new one but security code of replacement ECU wont accept. I tried the original security code from first ECU, didnt accept. Now cant program the replacement ECU. Any help is really appreciated please .

      @Luke-hc6ud 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For those of you with the same question: When swapping ECU's you do not need to reset your old one unless you plan on selling it. If you have bought an ECU that has already been reset, all you need to do is reprogram it using the pin for your car. (Not the one that came with the replacement ECU). From my understanding attempting to re-program an ECU to your car using anything but the code for your car will lock the ECU.

      If you can't find the car pass security card in your glove box or handbook folder then you can go to your local vauxhall/Opel dealer for about £30 I believe they will give you the passcode for your vehicle.

    HI mate, I have a Corsa D 2013 semi-auto which has come in with a used Transmission control Module fitted on it, however I do not have the old unit or the details of the car that the unit on the car is from. Do you know if there Is any way to program it to the vehicle? Thanks

    • @zedalon
      @zedalon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you can problem it without the donner car pass. Best solution would be swap modules with the one from the original gearbox

      @zohearhirji1643 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zedalon I don't have it unfortunately as we got the vehicle as it is the original gearbox unit has been thrown away by the previous owner. I'm just trying to find the best workaround to get the car working again.

    • @zedalon
      @zedalon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to get either a module with its pass or one that's been deprogrammed already

    I have a damaged ecu, and couldn’t reset it, i would like to ask. If i buy a used one same code letters (BB) for same car( astra h gtc 1.4) should be the used ecu reset? Will it work using Op-com?
    And should i have the security code from the new ecu?

    • @zedalon
      @zedalon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your best bet is to either buy one has been reset while still in the donnor car,then you should be able to program it with op-com. And it would be good idea to get the exact same part number. Also if you can communicate with the old one take a note of all the changeable settings so you can set the new one up correctly

  • @A1topmechanic

    Why do u need to deprogram or reset the damage ecu? When u r going to replace it anyway for another one

      I wasn't 100% sure if I need to but thought best to air on the side of caution,as not sure if just programming new what remove the old one data from the system

      I theory if you have the car pass from the Donner car you should be able to reset it in you car,but I have not tried it my self so not 100% if it will work.
