For sure, and the one big reason is because of being neglected or rejected by their parents. For me, I had to raise myself, and it isn't good when you raise yourself. My dad was working and mom ain't around because she cheated and went crazy, even though my brother and I had babysitters we still have to raise ourselves because babysitters don't raise you they just keep an eye on you and that's it. It's hard to leave that if there isn't any nurturing. Narcissist's emotional growth is stunted.

@@Violet-fj8ydShe will always put my father first, and she continues to deny his abuse that I endured as a child. I recently had a wave of resentment come over me towards her. I felt horrible for feeling that way, but I also have to accept it because she was complicit in the abuse I endured. I pray to God everyday for them both to repent - I had to repent because I started to have narcissistic traits in my teenage years. God's intervention is the only way my soul was saved from following in that evil path. It's so incredibly intense - but yes I am with her, I pray for her, I am aware of what is going on - and I rebuke the Devil in my family line, the ancestral curses, and my father's demonic nature underneath what she believes in a good man. I would not be able to do any of this without God's mighty love and hand on my life which I do not deserve. I will be there for my mother until the end and I will continue to move forward on the path of forgiveness even though it's hard - and I pray my dad repents so his soul does not forever remain in darkness. Aloha! I also have to realize my mom is a victim of narcissistic abuse even though she denies it. She believes it's real love and my heart breaks for her.

Lost my baby and husband in two weeks. He never asked about me or came to the hospital or even asked where our baby is buried. He is still telling everyone he is the victim. This is EXACTLY what happened, when my narcissistic mother began to realize, outside of a court room, that her legal case wasn’t going anywhere. She was between catatonic and quietly enraged. She later told me that she blamed my sister and I, for her losing the case, like either of us had any background in law or could go up against a global company. But, even further, she was telling me the family business was worth dying for. So, I think that, for her, it was “Go up against that company, die if you have to. Doesn’t matter to me.”

Thank you, Dr. Ramani! This gives words to exactly what I've been experiencing. Being the object onto which all this stuff is discharged by the narc is exhausting.

Me as a narcissistic person I used to be, it is so nice to be recovered. But yes, we are just child in adults skin. To recognize and accept oneself and change is a long way.
