Matt Bianco: Half a minute - Live 2006

Matt Bianco "a made up spy, a secret agent...spy TV themes and film scores".
Formed by Mark Reilly (vocals), Danny White (keyboards), and the late Kito Poncioni (bass) in 1982 from the shards of the abandoned art pop group, Blue Rondo A La Turk, for their first album, Whose Side Are You On?, they hired then unknown Polish vocalist Basia Trzetrzelewska. Her vocal arrangements gave the album a jazzy dimension. Mixmaster Phil Harding applied what would become his signature style to the recordings. Hits like "Get Out of Your Lazy Bed" and "Half a Minute," which Basia would feature live throughout her solo career, turned Matt Bianco into one of the biggest acts of Europe in 1984.
Recorded live at Bratislava Jazz Daysfestival, PKO, Bratislava, Slovakia, on 22 October, 2006 featuring Hazel Simm on vocals.

Nice resume of the band. The whole album sets the tone of an incredible era for music, with planeloads of awesome British formations or soloists. Their next album was equally consistent with quality grooves among which tolls the quintessential tune ''Fly By Night''.

This song has been on my short playlist since 1986. Check out the studio version- its more upbeat. I believe it was originally the B-side to one of her "hits"-Cruising or Time and Tide- but got limited airlplay in the US. I think it's her best song.

Yeah, this isn't Basia you can hear it. Looks typically like a New American jazzy girl type, very cute woman but her voice doesn't come even close to Basia, the original female vocal in Matt Bianco group. Basia of course went on to make a world career, not surprisingly with her great voice. I still love Matt Bianco the original band.
