This is so good! And so helpful - it took me a long time to get to grips with the difference between want and need - and my writing really took off when I did. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much! I had been trying to nail down my characters inner conflict and you explained everything so well.

Loved your explanations and examples here since you clarify things in such a nice way to easily understand. as a guitarist representing stories/characters with music in bk trailers who likes learning the writing process/goals for stories since helps me better understand works I represent w/ music, I really enjoyed who you note flaws and giving characters agency even if their actions are wrong since I agree that makes stories interesting and more unpredictable. Great notes!

I really love writing real life stories but don't have any idea about it where to start.
I also want to write my first novel in between 45k to 60k words based on true life story that where life go away with you.

Kat, what do you think of language proficiency? I'm a non-native speaker, though my confidence doesn't go low mostly it still makes me worry if I am good enough for writing. I am a sensitive person; it won't look on my face but it's so intense that I feel different vibes with different words. The problem is that it isn't the case with my English entirely. I've started to feel something in these years, but it’s still not to the point where it suffices. (I'm 15 and guess it will get better but what do you of it?)
One more thing, what would be the first impression of yours when you hear of a book written by a non-native speaker originally in English.

There are a lot of traditionally published books in english by authors who learned english as a second language. I'd say don't give up and just keep practicing!

I suddenly questioned my main character in my head XD

Omg, I hope it wasn't too stressful! These steps can definitely be done while revising if needed (it's how I ended up doing it for my first book)

@@KatCho No, it's not stressful. It actually helped me reflect on my story. A big help because I am revising 😊
