Shortly before the events of Cataclysm, an exiled noble had retaken Durnholde Keep and its surrounding area, declaring himself de facto King of Lordaeron as told in the preceding campaign Lordaeron's Legacy. After retaking a slice of the former Kingdom he has now styled himself as King Candor, a move which has proven unpopular with many in the Alliance. In this period of great unrest there are many heroes and villains trying to survive, claim power, or just do what they believe is right.

Hey folks, the campaign creator here to give some more behind the scenes info and context to the mission!
Whilst the map maintains the original idea of saving the boats and fighting along the beach as they come against a Forsaken player that is racing you unfortunately the final product wasn't quite as I imagined due to my own limitations with writing the AI scripts, mainly ensuring the Dark Blue Forsaken could detect when boats landed and then send progressively harder waves til it's killed before moving onto the next boat in the sequence. As originally I planned for the boats to come on a fixed timer even if other boats had already landed which would make the map much easier to balance since there would be a set pace for the player to work around compared to currently where the timer only starts after the previous boat is rescued. One of the downsides of this is that if a boat isn't present the Dark Blue wave intended for the boat attacks the player when really the wave should only have diverted to the player if a boat is saved whilst they were on their way to attack. As it stands this clearly resulted in a lot of pressure on poor Jay that honestly shouldn't have been _as_ bad.
The Green base is quite small and easy and serves as an expansion opportunity which Jay took advantage of. In terms of the farm quest, if the farm falls then purple attacks your base directly which I suppose might amplify the pressure especially if green is still around. I did plan for the quest to pay off much later down the road but honestly this campaign was a lot of work to get finished and by the end I just wanted it done after all the time spent on it and this was one of the casualties. There are also a couple of "speedrunning" options available in some maps, for example if you build dragonhawks or mortars you can snipe the Apothecaries maintaining the shield for faster access or you can even use the book of the dead to spawn the skeletons on the overside of it using essentially a collision glitch.
All in all, I hope you enjoyed this mission since I have tried to vary up the gameplay this time around from the standard base attack/destroy and base defence types from before and I can definitely see a couple of areas that could be tweaked to improve the maps even further!

37:40 you did not start with upgrades but when you rescue or obtain units with upgrades you gain said upgrades in you tech tree. So when you rescued Devotee in the first group you got 2 tiers of upgrade instantly. It's a feature of a game, not a mod thing, so if you were to play as undead in a mirror match you could "steal" upgrades with a banshee (or dark ranger with charm in any mirror match). Usefulness of this mechanic is highly limited

I didn't actually, the AI should behave just as a regular Hard difficulty campaign does in terms of targeting etc so if they target healing wards with air that's something I've never noticed before lol so that's a cool catch!

This was part of how I envisioned the mission originally playing out however limitations with my AI scripting meant I wasn't able to fully realise my vision for how the map would play out. I'm happy with the end result but still sad I couldn't achieve my original idea :)

Dude, I panicked a lot when that mortar attacked to scarlet units at green siege,lol.
33:09 - I felt that one with my very heart, Jay.
So, first things first - YOU MISSED A TOME, it was dropped by scarlet crusade right next to green's base.
Now that the contractual obligation is completed: It seemd like the Farm was bugged - peons were just standing next to the trees and a lumbermill without doing anything. And if that was made on puropse - why? The Farm should at least be able to produce peons and repair in my opinion.
Also after killing blue couldn't you just leave Pyraleus to defend the farm and go explore the rest of the map? You missed at least one scarlet crusade camp. On the other hand though maybe it was for the best - viewing quality and all that.

You completed the mission and side objective as well so I cant argue with the results, but I think there are some tips in this mission:
First to protect the farm you dont need any troop, just mass around 20 towers and have 1-2 mortar teams to attract enemy catapult aggro, which will make them move into tower range. I want to note that in your gameplay there seem to be a lot less enemies attacking the farm, while in mine there are a lot more, which is weird since this campaign doesnt have any difficulty selection. Anyway it helps free up supply for troops to be used in other areas
The second boat and others wont appear until after the first boat is rescued, so you can send troops to defend them and meanwhile you have time to explore the map with much less stress
Also if i remember it right then in the upcoming macro missions there wont be any expo at all, which can make it difficult. I hope the map creator can talk about some reasons for this as most campaigns have expos in macro missions
20 towers are a MASSIVE investment, though.

To answer your question, yes, you could have trained Dragonhawks, but they are trained from the Arcane Sanctum that you didn't even build (guess because the Priest is now in another building). Oh, and in this campaign the Flying Machines use the Reign of Chaos model and stats, meaning they're immensely better and worth using.

Quite the doozy this one. Around 11min mark if my ears heard right is a remix from war2(some tracks there are hard not to recognize).
Mana steal did one great favor for Jay - no animate dead on the death knight (if he had any in the first place). Still, game treats those as summons("children") so dispel kills them even if invuln).
I get the feeling Candor and Istan will meet only at very end rather than earlier...and that probably it will be very unhealthy for one of them...prob istan.

The mission should’ve make the boats come on a set timer so it can’t be cheesed by the player tbh
Also, why isn’t the blue enemy hero Rohan the Rogue attack alongside with blue? Is that a bug or what
That was the original idea for the mission however it proved too difficult to make the idea work with the AI scripting for attacking the boats when multiple are present, sorry! Maybe with some of my newly learned scripting skills I might be able to make it work.
The hero is there to serve as a roadblock between that final base and the final boat, I think if he attacked it might be a bit much, I don't want the campaign to be overly difficult after all, the sweetspot of "satisfying challenge" is where I'm aiming :)
You should have destroyed the green base at the beginning of mission.. It will be much easier to kill them
I tried on an off camera attempt. I couldn’t both save the farm and get to the first boat in time also.
@@JayborinoPlays well, what I did was I ignored the 1st boat, they can fend themselves for at least 2 attack waves they are fully upgraded while they defend, during this time I tried to take the attack force I have and go to the green base and do as much damage as possible while I sent for workers to build towers to defend the farmer, it wasn't easy it took me 2 attempts to destroy the green base completely while defending the farmer when the violet base send their hero to attack the farmer and I saved the boat while it was attacked by the 3rd wave of forsaken force

Maybe, you should turn off the volume, if you don’t like it. Or better yet, play the campaign yourself and do it yourself. Wisdom begets reason.
