Good video. The only thing I see you didn't show was hooking back up the speed o tube.

A good video but a narrated one would have been better,

Should I put the motor in gear before I do this or leave it in neutral. I know some older outboards need to be in gear to help align the splines

Hi - when I did it it was in neutral 🙂

@@smaabaadsnyt-altomsmabadeo9300 Having a hard time putting the lower unit back on - seems to be the gear selector rod that's the problem. It would not locate if left on the lower unit, so we took it off and managed (after lots of fumbling) to mate it to the upper, but still having problems putting the lower unit back on. Was hoping for a bit more detail than the jump cut at @3:41 😉
Update: Turned out putting in the selector rod first was the problem - there was so much resistance mating it with the lower housing that it was impossible doing it while putting the lower housing back on. After pulling the rod out and having to use a hammer to put it back on to the lower housing spline, we did manage to get the lower housing back on without too much trouble.

isn't there a clip ontop of the thiner shaft that needs removing thank you

Clean the shaft before sliding new impeller on. Do not grease the impeller housing. No need. That's what water is for. Grease and water.... do not mix. If you want to use something use a little WD-40 or a little dish soap... not grease. Just sayin:-) But for sure great the impeller shaft.

WD40 destroys rubber, silicone spray/grease is good

@@highspeed3312 Obviously the guy is from Denmark, and probably doesn’t speak English, genius. So if he did speak, you’d be whining about how he didn’t speak ‘murican, so you could understand. A picture, or a video clearly demonstrating what he’s doing is worth a thousand words. If you don’t like his video, watch another one, or make your own, jackass..
