Who's here after not like us??❤
Last night you were dreaming and I heard you say, oh johnny and you know my name is ray!
That section gets me every time
Right lol something about that
Definitely made me go back and listen to the part before it.
Skip right to that part 😂
I no right
That piano intro 🔥🔥🔥. Get chills everytime
Incredibly done
I slept on him as a child, but his talent was just so sick. The way he played the piano and a great voice. The movie Ray really brought me to appreciate his talent. Rest in Peace, King!!!!
If you said gospel, blues, and jazz was an atom, Ray Charles was the founder of the bomb
Ray Charles at 30 yrs. old. Simply devastating!.. Nobody can touch his singing!!
Luther Vandross
+J Breezy nah. Luther had his way of doing things, but you're talking about a completely different class of singing.
+J Breezy Lol! One of them is a good singer, the other is an American musical icon!
+gsdsteve His voice may not be of the highest quality, but oh...what he put into it just kills it! I never liked the song, 'Oh what a beautiful morning' until I heard Ray do it...I'll never hear that song the same way again!
I would argue that his voice is about the highest quality ever. Not only did Ray have perfect pitch but he could even scream on key, lol!
When my son saw this video he thought this was Jamie Fox. That's how good he played him.
Hell yea and they resemble alot also
@Domo Jones what else did they miss out in the story?
No one could of done it better. Jamie foxx captured his essence xx
Don't care
He was incredibly good at this
00:50 Margie getting ready to tear that song up!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 she looks pissed
The dirty little secret is that there are no female vocalists on the original record...Ray didn't like how they did it, so he did all the voices in falsetto.
+red martin Which is what makes actually watching this video that much more fascinating and interesting.
I was a dirty little secret until the movie
red martin 😂😂😂😂😉
Yeah they where drunk
Glaube ich sofort: "Hit the road, Jack!"
Now THIS is music. They don't make em like this anymore. So unfortunate.
There will never be another ray charles no doubt. But to say there’s no good music anymore is just silly. We live in a time where there’s more available music than ever before. You just have to look harder. There is plenty of good music that’s being made.🤦🏻♂️
I was lucky; my mother played a lotta Ray Charles and other 40s / 50s Atlantic records artists who were all way b4 my time. I had more genuine music appreciation of the Blues & knowledge of those artists than my peers and their parents. Now I play that same music for my chil and grandchildren and they love it. Their peers gawk in awe when they see my stereo turn table and needle arm. But my descendants are familiar w it. They're familiar w Ray music!
This song just doe something to me. I love it! Ray Charles was a musical genius!
Bob Dylan's "Ballad of a Thin Man" owes a lot to this song.
before renaming it =-Dylan's working title was......"slow ballad in D"
Really?
thumbs up if ur listening to this while ur currently in ur twenties
Back in the 50's , Ray was such a beast high on smack and sang straight from the heart . M
Ray at his best! Sounds like a recorded version!
this is just soul overload, the man was the king of movement and emotion, pure gold
Ray Charles was smooth man! Even the background girls was good.
I love me some Ray Charles. He was so handsome and incredibly gifted. Thanks for your AMAZING music. ❤😊💯🎼🎶
19 people dont know great music.if humanity was to be judged on its accomplishments and whether they had made beautiful things, you would send the judge this song.we would pass judgement with flying colors.thanks ray for bringing soul to the masses
2:59 his vocals are amazing
Marjorie killed the OH YEA but Ray took ot next level
He slayed this song!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥😍
Just great - and I love how someone whistles when he says "I think I'm gonna have to use my rod".
2:51 that "oh yeah" that margie sang... wow
Margie could SANG.
@@timmy841212 When she wasn't drunk
That wasn't Margie, that was Ray himself.
Bodied
@@jusnyvlem you’re wrong that really was Margie at 2:51. She does a lot of singing adlibs on live performances that only die hard Margie (like me) fans will catch. She has done the same thing on other live performances such as on You Are My Sunshine and What I’d Say.
Last night you were dreaming and I heard you say : Oh Jhonny , when you know my name is Ray :))
2022 still jamming
I feel chills when l hear this.
I wish what's her name in the Raelettes hadn't got drunk so we could have had their vocals on the original recording of this song. Not that Ray did a bad job doing all the background vocals himself, but this just sounds amazing!
Yeah I love the female background vocals.
Damn, he's even better live ...
Watching Ray On BET Brought Me Here And I'm Only 14 Love This Song!!!'
The Man & His Soul
No autotune needed
Legend forever ✨🎶
Enjoying Ray's live performances. Great playlist. Thanks for posting.
Did you know that the song "I Believe" he recorded and overdubed all the background parts himself, don't believe do research and you will find it so.
Those dresses with all of those crinolins underneath are a trip!!
Ray the Best Sing Ever we love u Ray 4ever
I like this song.Very soulful. The dresses look like they itch (lol)
2:50 oh yea!!!
Good God this is great.
And you know my is Ray...I'm in my early 20 this is what music should sound like
Raw soul right here.

I BELIEVE THAT RAY IS GENIUS
Absolutely 💯
There will never be another 💪🏽💪🏽
Farhad mehrad's version is better
Still listening in 2019. Oh Johnny, when u know,my,name, is Ray
Floored in 2012, as incredible as when it came out.
I wish I was alive to witness this!
This is freaking brilliant.
You can tell, Ray’s feelin the high right there
I'm reading "Brother Ray" by David Ritz at the moment. Great to see Ray live at his peak. The first artist I truly loved. Saw him in the 70's - magnificent!
That was an awesome autobiography. His son, Ray Jr, wrote a book as well.
Maestoso. Quanto bisogno ci sarebbe ancora di questo soul
I love his music omg
he is the best
Thanks Andranik ! the very first song that did something to me was Ray Charles " Hit the Road Jack" i was like 5 or 6 laying on the floor of my dad's Pontiac Star Chief driving up the road and we both were singing it as loud as we could and his nick name was "Jack"
2:46 perfect high note

Pure genius.
Magnificent
When you know my name is ray !
And he just walks out like he hadn't performed a magnificent piece of music at all.
There was somen sexy about Ray even though he was blind he was actually handsome too
Reminds me of my uncle whom also is blind and can do everything just like Ray including woman and many kids......... Great man Ray was my uncle is just the same minus the drugs....
