I mean at the end of G4 it was never really confrimed if they did hook up or not after all Big Jim said it was open for fans to debate about. I personally dont think they hooked up tbh they probably stayed as friends.
I think the reason Izzy reminded Discord of Fluttershy was because of her kindness. Hitch has a bond with animals like her, but Discord liked Fluttershy for her accepting nature, like Izzy.
Hitch may have fluttershy bond with animals but he lacks the kindness and accepting nature of fluttershy since he is well known to quickly judge others and jump to conclusions while fluttershy and izzy learn the situation ,pony,or discord before jumping but I also feel izzy is a pinkie pie with a twist of fluttershy
If I had to sum up Discord's monologue it would be just this: "Harmony MUST be maintained without magic". That still leaves me wondering what happened before the movie in all of its comic, cause the REAL problem again was for one misterious alicorn (I guess after saw the comic) who ruined the peace at that time and got everyone to blame each other again with the pretext of having magic or not... hope Discord consider it later.
Given how the new Gen started, no explanation given just “the tribes all hate each other again and the reigning Royalty have all thoroughly buggered off” I still wonder what Twilight did to screw up so badly. They had a literal Princess of Friendship ruling them at the end of FiM and yet as soon as she was gone everyone forgot how to be friends and regressed to the good ol’ racist days? At this point I’m just done with the Ponies of Equestria if they can’t get along without a Friendship Princess telling them to be friends.

I don't think discord really wants to make magic disappear I'm sure he just wants to test Sunny and his friend to see if they deserved to have and protect the crystal I mean he like do to weird stuff like that to the mane 6 in G4
To me he looks barely held together. long shabby mane, broken antler, he looks like a trainwreck. I feel like his appearance is a direct reflection of his emotional state.
Got to say that I love Discord's new design. Despite being older and wornout, he still has that presence that shows that he is indeed one of, if not the most powerful magic user in all of MLP.

Just a little something I noticed. In the flashback all the ponies from the G4 timeline look the way they did in the show, yet the G5 ponies still maintain their G5 features, things like having more accurate horse hooves, and the swirl patterns in Izzy’s horn, and the lack of fur in the inner part of their ears. Did ponies just evolve these new physical traits over time? Though they do now have two cutie marks here instead of just one like in the movie and tell your tales series.
Most likely, as time marches on so does evolution Most likely they're more realistic due to the lower ambient magic, their biology less reliant on magic I may not be a fan but I do so like to figure out why things manifest as they do
hes actually confirmed to be a minimum of 65 million years old, but yeah he is definitely looking old on purpose. I think he might have just purposely decided to stop caring about himself after fluttershy died
I hope they keep with this as if there gonna make him a "antagonist" one last time, its a way to do it without making him truly revert, as his character post S4 has been defined as 'misguided but wants to be good'. The only thing that really makes him the antagonist here is having a different idea of how to make the world a better place than the other characters. He tried to get the mane 5 to understand were he was coming from and all he did was tie them because they were trying to stop him from doing what he feels needs to be done. He didn't really hurt them in any way and going by discords first appearance, if he was trying to be evil again, he would have just said so. Also remember he was very mean towards animals back when he was a villain and now here he has them as pets. I do think Discord is telling the truth although possibly exaggerating the truth and/or leaving stuff out a bit. This is my thoughts and response after watching the video.
He has good intentions by getting rid of magic because he saw what a bad apple can do to the masses with their jealousy and saw how technically peaceful the last hundred or so years have been with everyone being separated and without magic. He doesn’t want anyone else getting hurt like Fluttershy did. He definitely is a good guy with bad methods of solving his issues.
I assume he's the "villian" once again since without the mane 6 especially Fluttershy, he has become unhing so to speak. Also he can simply acted again like he did at the last season pretending to be that goat villian to unite the previous villian in order to make Twlight a better Princess.
It seems he’ll play his usual role. Redeemed guy who does crazy/irrational things for fun or to do the right thing, even if he’s doing it the wrong way.
I feel sad for Discord now, thinking of all the years he had spent without Fluttershy by his side! Somewhat remind me of that fanart of a fanfic in that Discord wished to be turned to stone again after Fluttershy passing as he no longer bare the will to lived!

Sorry in advance for killing the mood. I appreciate that they are finally giving us some answers as to what happened between the events of G4 and G5, but there seems to be one massive issue with this. The comics and the show are two separate mediums, and not everyone who watches the show is going to read the comics. I personally have never read a single G4 comic before and it didn't hinder my ability to enjoy the show. If all the exposition is coming from an area that the majority of the audience is unfamiliar with, they will be left in the dark and confused. Everything of importance should be shown through the series. Fans should not be expected to watch Make Your Mark, read the comics, watch Tell Your Tale, play the video game, watch FIM, and whatever else they add onto this franchise just for the sake of understanding what's going on. These other forms of content can exist and build off of Make Your Mark, but they should not be required for the viewer in order to properly enjoy the show. I also still have trouble enjoying a story that's telling us the previous cast failed when The Last Problem basically told us that they were prepared to face any threat that comes their way, and now we are being shown that they immediately failed after the final episode. It just really undermines the ending completely if you ask me.
I agree, I didnt expect them to put sth this monumental in the comics, I like them giving the comics more attention and bigger plot points, but this is too much, and thats coming from me who wholeheartedly loves the comics, G4 and G5. Some things should be kept in the show

I thougt the same. It's like we saw 222 episodes.....for nothing. I don't know much about the comics but I think the g4 comics are not canon, so probably this is sort of crossover like mlp and transformers? Maybe the comics and series licenses are different and while the comic editor agrees to make g4 and g5 to sell comics the g4 producers asks for the 50% of the profits and only let little references (in the movie credits it says mlp fim is a cameo) This is like the Sonic movie but worst, they attend to fandom wishes with allowed little hints making stronger the hype to an unknown level to the mankind. I wish they fix and solve this or much people gonna get dissapointed.

Either way, this is far-fetched to say the least; life in Equestria fell not even a generation later. Also, why didn't the Mane 6 just confront and defeat this pony like they always do, and bring everypony to their senses (like in The Ending of The End)? I love that they had the signs prepared ("Save your comments until the end, Sunny," and the follow-up to her asking if they had prepared that beforehand (a sign saying "Yes we did, Sunny")), and her looking SO PISSY in response to that 2nd sign. Definitely something Discord, and/or anyone under Discord's tutelage, would do. 😂😂😂
Not sure I like where this is going. They're saying it only took one snooty pony to get everyone to start fighting, and then Twilight went all dictator on them and threatened to take away the magic, with the help of the mane 6 at that. It just makes it look like they were terrible at their job. The movie does lend itself to this sort of conclusion, but it's sad to see it become canon (or as canon as these comics turn out to be, anyway). And Discord thinking that getting rid of magic for good is going to ensure ponies get along. We already saw how that worked out in the movie, so what's the point? And do they really have to lean so heavily on the G4 references? Randomly name-dropping characters like Trixie, Thorax, Sombra, The Storm King who probably have nothing to do with this. It's like they want to show that Sunny actually watched/read all of FiM, instead of having a vague idea of what happened. So overall, the story does have some interesting ideas here and there, but all the surrounding fluff is really distracting.
Yeah this is huge. It feels like a 16 year old wrote this as a fanfic lol They want it to be so far in the future yet they want to do fan service by referring to G4. I don’t get it- just make the setting not that far in the future or stick with the one you have.
The whole thing has not been told just yet. Maybe Discord or the mane 6 is hiding something that will explain why they did it. We haven't heard of Twilight view on the shadow pony yet.

@@DanknDerpyGamer I suppose it is possible that the details aren’t what we’ve been told in this issue. I was actually duped in Season 9 (as most of us were). I suppose we’ll have to wait and see to know for sure. These details they do provide, though, even if it’s a lie or embellished in the story, don’t add anything. The fact of the matter is the past is over so there’s nothing at stake by the lie being unfounded. The stakes are made clear when he restrains them and disappears, whether his story is inaccurate or not. He also seems to be acting in harmony with his story, so, as of this issue, it serves no purpose if it’s inaccurate. That in of itself isn’t good practice.
That mysterious unicorn was the reason all ponies been apart in the first place I know Discord had to hold it together for Fluttershy he cares so much for her.
For somepony like Twilight Sparkle herself, the idea of sealing all of the magic away just become 1 pony starts spreading false ideas because of it seems... suprisingly _idiotic._ Something's not right about this story. Perhaps, Discord is hiding some pieces of it.
Well... thing is that... as Discord explains, the problem wasn't that single pony, but the fact that their ideas started to take hold, my take is that it was harder to control because so far, even into the "endgame" of G4, most antagonists and jerks were usually acting on a "personal" matter, such as "taking over the realm", "doing as they please" or "get power for power's sake", but this new issue wasn't like that, it was a matter of people starting to subscribe to the notion of their "inherent superiority" just for being an X, or a Y, or a Z; heck, even Starlight's original gig was a matter of "our UNIQUE talents as [ponies] are bad because they separate us" rather than "we are better because we are Unicorns... or Pegasi" like... think about it, even if certain settlements were uniquely inhabitted by one pony type, i don't ever remember anyone making a point of resenting each other over their "racial traits" such as ponies throwing the stink-eye to pegasi over their cloud-cities and flying... or Unicorns looking down on Earth ponies for being "mundane"... get where i'm going?
I feel so sad for discord he out lived his friends if he never shows up in the series it will be my head canon that he gave up his immortality in series universe
We still dont know how long it actually has been, and we don't know the actual livespan of a dragon. And besides, we dont know if he might have died due to sth unnatural
or he gave up the universe where equestria resides and went back to multiverse. One experience of friendship probably won't make him gave up immortality even if he can

I mean, hasbro would love to sell more toys since the mane 6 are super marketable, so its more than likely that thats the case, and twilight's message at the end of make your mark "im with you" says that either the mane 6 are still around somewhere, or at the very least twilight's spirit is inside the crystals.

So…some random Unicorn (or Alicorn) managed to undo everything that Twilight, Spike, her friends, the Pillars, Starlight, Shining Armor, the Princesses Cadence, Celestia, Luna, Discord, AND the Student Six (who were all different creatures, that put their differences aside) and the Spirit of Harmony achieved. Riiiiight. This reeks of rebooting something, just to tell the same story AGAIN.
Whatever her name turns out to be, I'm calling her "First Order." Because she's the same as the Star Wars Sequel villains: Come out of nowhere, and somehow insta-destroy everything the heroes built after years of episodes.
Hear me out here. We don't know what that suped-up Windigo was. So hows this for a hunch? For all we know, they spread chaos deliberately in an effort to summon it, as part of a plan. They may even have done so *expecting* Twilight to fight it by gathering all the magic in one place so they could use it against it. Why would they do this? Well we know from Cozy Glow that it's possible to "Brute Force" Alicorn ascension, by shooting up on raw magic, gaining Alicorn Magic artificially. Imagine how powerful an Alicorn you'd be if you sealed away **All** Magic and then absorbed that? You wouldn't just be an Alicorn. You'd be borderline Omnipotent. I also wouldn't put it past Discord to be a little unreliable here, and have 'Some wicked Pony' actually be someone we know - or related to one we know. I've always been a fan of the Fallen Student trope. I'm also fairly sure Cadence wouldn't have wanted to outlive her Husband; and so would have (as I am calling it) "Pulled a Luthien", and chosen a mortal life. Which would have been interesting to see how Flurry reacted. Though, maybe I've been watching too much Once Upon a Time, but somehow I envision Flurry Heart re-enacting Sombras Curse in order to escape calamity. I don't think this is just 'one person undermining' things, but it would be interesting if what Discord refers to as 'One person stirring up hate' was actually like a simplificiation of someones burgeoning supremacist movement, gaining traction the way politicians or cult leaders do. Less just a racist person being mean undermining everything, and more a concrete effort to shape attitudes in a way that benefits them...

i just got the issue for this comic in a store and it made me sad seeing canterlot in ruins, definitely a big surprise seeing discord again. although he may seem like a bad guy right now, I don't think he has gone rouge and bad. reading the story, discord just doesn't want another diversion or war to break out because of magical abilities each pony species has. I'm pretty sure he's just trying to test them and teach them a lesson like how he used to do with twilight and her friends. I do feel bad seeing discord alone, rotting away in the ruins of Equestria while all of his friends are gone (R.I.P Fluttershy :// )
What the hay is wrong with all them ponies?! They witnessed what fighting and distrust can cause, had to put up with many villains trying to break them apart and got nearly destroyed for it more times than you can count. And NIW some no name alicorn pops out of nowhere and they believe her. SHE DIDN'T EVEN SING!
g5 is starting to grow on me i LOVEEEE THIS COMIC how is this the first im hearing of it, i’m so excited that discord and g4 ties into this canonically
I think it would be really cool if a new character got introduced in G5 sometime in the future. Cupcake Shy. or CC for short(aka preference, like how Zipp preferes to be called Zipp and not "Zepherina") CC would be the daughter of Fluttershy and Discord, she would look like a normal pegasus with a dark pink mane, the very front of her mane and a chunk of her tail being the same color as Fluttershys mane. then her coat is yellow with a huge patch of grey coat on her left on her head that covers almost half of it. she would have most of discords powers with the ones she doesn't have being: shapeshifting, evil turning or whatever its called, time traveling(if discord has it) and making doors in thin air. CC also would only flap her wings when flying in front of strangers because she doesn't really need to do that. and the reason we've never seen her in the comics before is because she was really introverted when she was young but now mostly just protects relics from the mane 6s time edit: extra ideas: CCs aromantic. she has Rainbows tortoise as a sort of companion(or his kid) like how angel bunny is Fluttershys companion. she sometimes hums songs from G4 (raise this barn, let the rainbow remind you, that stuff) as a sort of call back to the mane 6. one of the main characters hates when CC drinks glass so she just occasionally drinks it just to annoy them. she helps teach Misty old spells even though she can't cast them. she at least once says "I can't do spells, I'm not a unicorn! I'm a street magician if street magicians could bend reality!

I wonder how Discord dealt with Fluttershy's passing. While , yes , whether they were in a realtionship or not is up to interp. Fluttershy was the one closest to him . The loss of the others might have been difficult aswell but I believe Fluttershy's would have a lot of impact .
Ugh, we're having a "Star Vs the Forces of Evil" logic crisis. Everyone wants to blame magic for their own failings. Magic didn't do shit! It was the Poinies fault for being too damn gullible that ruined their perfect paradise. Which I find to be *hilarious.* I mean think about it: At the end of the day, What destroyed Equestria wasn't Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Nightmare Moons return, Tirek, Cozy Glow, Starlight, nor the combination of all three baddies AND the freaking Windigos. I think Discord is not only getting rid of for go so the pony tribes don't turn against each other again but also wants to stop so when he does turn evil again he wouldn't have he's magic to do anything chaotic.
Also, I really like the video of your analisis of this comic 👍. I guess this comic is not ALL BAD cause the explanation of Discord about the past before G5 was interesting and shocking at the same time to see how he was completely transformed him, to someone that assume that removing everything can lead to something favorable in the end... For all Twilight's talk of friendship it is shockingly easy to turn the ponies of equestria against one another, what was the point of a school of friendship if 1 evil mare can undo everything it taught and more just by being racist and mildly violent. Sombra was a mind controlling tyrant willing to take a baby hostage yet his actions either result in no serious lasting effects or in the alternate timeline the tribes coming together even closer albeit in a militaristic teamwork sort of way.
Wait but why was this alicorn a problem? Discord could have easily turned them to cornbread and twilight was a ruler she could have easily thrown them is jail
This comic perfectly illustrates my issues with the writing from G4 which I find to be extremely funny. 1) those Equestrian Kingdom ponies were found to be really open to manipulation. I thought it was just bad writing as plot devices but apparently I guess that was just a characteristic about them. Thank goodness they’re all dead. 2) Celestia made these kinds of tyrannical decisions for everyone, and now Twilight’s repeating the course. I classified Twilight as a “psychopath” in my last review to date, and this seems like something exactly Psychotic Twilight would do. It’s not only unlikable, but it kind of makes it seems like the entire journey of the series was for nothing. In fact that kind of behavior directly contradicts the moral of “Sounds of Silence”. Just further goes to show that writers for this series don’t even watch their own show. 3) This indirectly confirms a suspicion I had about draconequus nature- *they age*. This might have been obvious, considering that Discord in G4 was kind of bushy and old, but I heard theories about that just being character design to match John deLancie’s style. I think this aging process is necessary to make room for other draconequui to fill the role. For example, in a story I’ll be writing, Event Horizon is not the first draconequus of Destruction, and when he is manifest to ponykind, he looks a lot younger than I have him now. Might do a video about this. I think Discord is completely in character in this comic and I don’t know why other people are complaining.
I agree, Discords character is fitting here and actually seems like the draconequus we know, and I would like to see more draconequui, since my OC actually was one of those too before he got turned into a normal pony, well, kind of normal

I basically have 3 thing's to say about this comic, I did buy it and read it. 1. I can't decide if Discord is serious or if he is testing the Mane 5. We all know that Discord is not above doing such thing's. 2. At the part where it show's Twilight creating the crystal's. You can see that Rainbow Dash & Applejack are holding each other's leg's or hooves. Anyway, there are many who are using this to strengthen the RD&AJ ship, which I'm so apart of. And in my opinion their ship doesn't need strengthening cause as far as I'm concerned Rainbow Dash and Applejack are married. The only thing that can change my mind is if Hasbro somehow say's, most likely through Gen5 in some way, that Rainbow Dash and Applejack aren't together in anyway. Then and only then will I abandon the RD&AJ ship. 3. While reading this comic and seeing that mysterious unicorn I had a crazy thought. Before I continue Please Note that I'm NOT in anyway referring to that Alicorn in Make Your Mark, I'm talking about the mysterious unicorn in this comic. So what if this mysterious sinister unicorn is Twilight's Daughter. Just imagine how heartbreaking and soul shattering that'd be. And I mean her daughter daughter, not a unicorn she adopted. Her physical biological daughter. And that could be the answer to how did a unicorn have such influence. She is Twilight's Daughter. Though many might wonder/ask if she is indeed Twilight's Daughter then how could she do such thing's. Well kid(s) don't alway's grow up the way parent(s) want/expect. Am adding on a 4th thing since it was brought up in another TH-cam Video that I commented on. 4. Why doesn't Discord say the mysterious unicorn's name. Have 2 possibilities as to why. 1. I just wish that Hasbro would pick a different plot line. They only have two "world ending" plots, and that's petty racism and magic being taken away. Something more interesting and less repetitive would be nice for a change.
I wish they had come up with a better reason as to why the crystals were made. Hopefully there will be a better explanation to this later on. From what I’m seeing in the comic…There’s no proof right now that magic is what the dark cloud or mystery unicorn was after in the first place. Granted it’s safe to assume it is. considering it’s what every villain wants. For twilight to take away magic and put it into crystal…..it feels like a cheep cop out. in my opinion. I get that her friends are much older now and maybe can’t help her the same way they did in the past…. But gurl! you be a power house yourself and you got other alacorn family members you could turn to. And with the magic taken away…( depending how much was taken at the time) Every pony would be forced to be equals with earth ponies. Considering they can’t use magic or fly anymore. Perhaps the reason why every pony left and lived separately was more because They Became mad at twilight for taking magic away. How do we know discord is immortal did the lmp staff confirm Diacord's immortality at some point and I didn't know or is it a really huge headcanon. Like win a pony is a alicorns they are given immortality vs having a little longer lifespan like what is the lifespan for horse in real life
Maybe it is my personal bias speaking because I have been incredibly emotional over this, but I honestly don’t like that discord is the one to be the villain here. I really just can’t bring myself to enjoy a media where I am forced to acknowledge that he outlived fluttershy, which was like a thing that we all knew was coming but you didn’t have to think about it, and now it’s just in your face, and I really don’t trust them to further discuss this topic in a respectful and deep way that would bring real closure to older fans, because it’s already made clear that he’s supposed to be in the antagonist with a semi-sad backstory the new viewers won’t feel connected to. I am pretty sure that the plot is just going to be “Discord bad, discord sad, discord was wrong, discord happy again” and idk, it just feels like a punch in the gut. It feels cheap. Maybe it’s just me, but deep down I hoped that after Fluttershy died he would disappear or die or anything just so he doesn’t have to forever grief her, knowing that he is immortal while she’s forever gone and how little time in an immortal existence he was able to spend with her. I just hope that she died in peace and he has fond memories of her last years.
Just gonna say: according to the canon and how much time has passed, it means that Discord literally had to watch all of his friends and then his WIFE die… :(

I think the reason Izzy reminded Discord of Fluttershy was because of her kindness. Hitch has a bond with animals like her, but Discord liked Fluttershy for her accepting nature, like Izzy.
Hitch may have fluttershy bond with animals but he lacks the kindness and accepting nature of fluttershy since he is well known to quickly judge others and jump to conclusions while fluttershy and izzy learn the situation ,pony,or discord before jumping but I also feel izzy is a pinkie pie with a twist of fluttershy

If I had to sum up Discord's monologue it would be just this: "Harmony MUST be maintained without magic". That still leaves me wondering what happened before the movie in all of its comic, cause the REAL problem again was for one misterious alicorn (I guess after saw the comic) who ruined the peace at that time and got everyone to blame each other again with the pretext of having magic or not... hope Discord consider it later.

To me he looks barely held together. long shabby mane, broken antler, he looks like a trainwreck. I feel like his appearance is a direct reflection of his emotional state.
Got to say that I love Discord's new design. Despite being older and wornout, he still has that presence that shows that he is indeed one of, if not the most powerful magic user in all of MLP.

This actually made me feel really bad for discord:( he lost practically everything.
Just a little something I noticed. In the flashback all the ponies from the G4 timeline look the way they did in the show, yet the G5 ponies still maintain their G5 features, things like having more accurate horse hooves, and the swirl patterns in Izzy’s horn, and the lack of fur in the inner part of their ears. Did ponies just evolve these new physical traits over time? Though they do now have two cutie marks here instead of just one like in the movie and tell your tales series.

I hope they keep with this as if there gonna make him a "antagonist" one last time, its a way to do it without making him truly revert, as his character post S4 has been defined as 'misguided but wants to be good'. The only thing that really makes him the antagonist here is having a different idea of how to make the world a better place than the other characters. He tried to get the mane 5 to understand were he was coming from and all he did was tie them because they were trying to stop him from doing what he feels needs to be done. He didn't really hurt them in any way and going by discords first appearance, if he was trying to be evil again, he would have just said so.
Also remember he was very mean towards animals back when he was a villain and now here he has them as pets.
I do think Discord is telling the truth although possibly exaggerating the truth and/or leaving stuff out a bit. This is my thoughts and response after watching the video.
Or maybe the villain orchestrated things to make twilight think removing all magic was the answer.

He has good intentions by getting rid of magic because he saw what a bad apple can do to the masses with their jealousy and saw how technically peaceful the last hundred or so years have been with everyone being separated and without magic. He doesn’t want anyone else getting hurt like Fluttershy did. He definitely is a good guy with bad methods of solving his issues.
I assume he's the "villian" once again since without the mane 6 especially Fluttershy, he has become unhing so to speak. Also he can simply acted again like he did at the last season pretending to be that goat villian to unite the previous villian in order to make Twlight a better Princess.
It seems he’ll play his usual role. Redeemed guy who does crazy/irrational things for fun or to do the right thing, even if he’s doing it the wrong way.
I feel sad for Discord now, thinking of all the years he had spent without Fluttershy by his side! Somewhat remind me of that fanart of a fanfic in that Discord wished to be turned to stone again after Fluttershy passing as he no longer bare the will to lived!

I appreciate that they are finally giving us some answers as to what happened between the events of G4 and G5, but there seems to be one massive issue with this. The comics and the show are two separate mediums, and not everyone who watches the show is going to read the comics. I personally have never read a single G4 comic before and it didn't hinder my ability to enjoy the show. If all the exposition is coming from an area that the majority of the audience is unfamiliar with, they will be left in the dark and confused.
Everything of importance should be shown through the series. Fans should not be expected to watch Make Your Mark, read the comics, watch Tell Your Tale, play the video game, watch FIM, and whatever else they add onto this franchise just for the sake of understanding what's going on. These other forms of content can exist and build off of Make Your Mark, but they should not be required for the viewer in order to properly enjoy the show.
I also still have trouble enjoying a story that's telling us the previous cast failed when The Last Problem basically told us that they were prepared to face any threat that comes their way, and now we are being shown that they immediately failed after the final episode. It just really undermines the ending completely if you ask me.
I agree, I didnt expect them to put sth this monumental in the comics, I like them giving the comics more attention and bigger plot points, but this is too much, and thats coming from me who wholeheartedly loves the comics, G4 and G5. Some things should be kept in the show

Maybe I am misreading, but does it actually specify HOW soon after The Last Problem this new problem reared its ugly head in? I mean, Lil' Cheese is seen with Pinkie, and looks older than in The Last Problem.

I don't know much about the comics but I think the g4 comics are not canon, so probably this is sort of crossover like mlp and transformers?
Maybe the comics and series licenses are different and while the comic editor agrees to make g4 and g5 to sell comics the g4 producers asks for the 50% of the profits and only let little references (in the movie credits it says mlp fim is a cameo)

Either way, this is far-fetched to say the least; life in Equestria fell not even a generation later. Also, why didn't the Mane 6 just confront and defeat this pony like they always do, and bring everypony to their senses (like in The Ending of The End)? Magic was never the problem; the problem was the hatred spread by that shadowy pony.

I love that they had the signs prepared ("Save your comments until the end, Sunny," and the follow-up to her asking if they had prepared that beforehand (a sign saying "Yes we did, Sunny")), and her looking SO PISSY in response to that 2nd sign. Definitely something Discord, and/or anyone under Discord's tutelage, would do. 😂😂😂
Not sure I like where this is going. They're saying it only took one snooty pony to get everyone to start fighting, and then Twilight went all dictator on them and threatened to take away the magic, with the help of the mane 6 at that. It just makes it look like they were terrible at their job. The movie does lend itself to this sort of conclusion, but it's sad to see it become canon (or as canon as these comics turn out to be, anyway).
And Discord thinking that getting rid of magic for good is going to ensure ponies get along. We already saw how that worked out in the movie, so what's the point?
And do they really have to lean so heavily on the G4 references? Randomly name-dropping characters like Trixie, Thorax, Sombra, The Storm King who probably have nothing to do with this. It's like they want to show that Sunny actually watched/read all of FiM, instead of having a vague idea of what happened.
So overall, the story does have some interesting ideas here and there, but all the surrounding fluff is really distracting.

They want it to be so far in the future yet they want to do fan service by referring to G4. I don’t get it- just make the setting not that far in the future or stick with the one you have.

But, we still don't have all the details as to what was really going on (on top of Discord's tendencies to stretch the truth), so that is a possibility, but I wouldn't just have their lessons being betrayed ALONE make a statement about the writing. I'd need more to go off of, like where they take the story (and build, or don't build, it).

These details they do provide, though, even if it’s a lie or embellished in the story, don’t add anything. The fact of the matter is the past is over so there’s nothing at stake by the lie being unfounded. The stakes are made clear when he restrains them and disappears, whether his story is inaccurate or not.
He also seems to be acting in harmony with his story, so, as of this issue, it serves no purpose if it’s inaccurate. That in of itself isn’t good practice.
That mysterious unicorn was the reason all ponies been apart in the first place I know Discord had to hold it together for Fluttershy he cares so much for her.

Well... thing is that... as Discord explains, the problem wasn't that single pony, but the fact that their ideas started to take hold, my take is that it was harder to control because so far, even into the "endgame" of G4, most antagonists and jerks were usually acting on a "personal" matter, such as "taking over the realm", "doing as they please" or "get power for power's sake", but this new issue wasn't like that, it was a matter of people starting to subscribe to the notion of their "inherent superiority" just for being an X, or a Y, or a Z; heck, even Starlight's original gig was a matter of "our UNIQUE talents as [ponies] are bad because they separate us" rather than "we are better because we are Unicorns... or Pegasi" like... think about it, even if certain settlements were uniquely inhabitted by one pony type, i don't ever remember anyone making a point of resenting each other over their "racial traits" such as ponies throwing the stink-eye to pegasi over their cloud-cities and flying... or Unicorns looking down on Earth ponies for being "mundane"... get where i'm going?

We don't know what that suped-up Windigo was. So hows this for a hunch? For all we know, they spread chaos deliberately in an effort to summon it, as part of a plan.
They may even have done so *expecting* Twilight to fight it by gathering all the magic in one place so they could use it against it. Why would they do this? Well we know from Cozy Glow that it's possible to "Brute Force" Alicorn ascension, by shooting up on raw magic, gaining Alicorn Magic artificially. Imagine how powerful an Alicorn you'd be if you sealed away **All** Magic and then absorbed that? You wouldn't just be an Alicorn. You'd be borderline Omnipotent.
I also wouldn't put it past Discord to be a little unreliable here, and have 'Some wicked Pony' actually be someone we know - or related to one we know. I've always been a fan of the Fallen Student trope.
I'm also fairly sure Cadence wouldn't have wanted to outlive her Husband; and so would have (as I am calling it) "Pulled a Luthien", and chosen a mortal life. Which would have been interesting to see how Flurry reacted. Though, maybe I've been watching too much Once Upon a Time, but somehow I envision Flurry Heart re-enacting Sombras Curse in order to escape calamity.
I don't think this is just 'one person undermining' things, but it would be interesting if what Discord refers to as 'One person stirring up hate' was actually like a simplificiation of someones burgeoning supremacist movement, gaining traction the way politicians or cult leaders do. Less just a racist person being mean undermining everything, and more a concrete effort to shape attitudes in a way that benefits them...

i just got the issue for this comic in a store and it made me sad seeing canterlot in ruins, definitely a big surprise seeing discord again. although he may seem like a bad guy right now, I don't think he has gone rouge and bad. reading the story, discord just doesn't want another diversion or war to break out because of magical abilities each pony species has. Cupcake Shy. or CC for short(aka preference, like how Zipp preferes to be called Zipp and not "Zepherina")
CC would be the daughter of Fluttershy and Discord, she would look like a normal pegasus with a dark pink mane, the very front of her mane and a chunk of her tail being the same color as Fluttershys mane. then her coat is yellow with a huge patch of grey coat on her left on her head that covers almost half of it. she would have most of discords powers with the ones she doesn't have being: shapeshifting, evil turning or whatever its called, time traveling(if discord has it) and making doors in thin air.
CC also would only flap her wings when flying in front of strangers because she doesn't really need to do that.
and the reason we've never seen her in the comics before is because she was really introverted when she was young but now mostly just protects relics from the mane 6s time
edit: extra ideas: CCs aromantic. she has Rainbows tortoise as a sort of companion(or his kid) like how angel bunny is Fluttershys companion. she sometimes hums songs from G4 (raise this barn, let the rainbow remind you, that stuff) as a sort of call back to the mane 6. one of the main characters hates when CC drinks glass so she just occasionally drinks it just to annoy them. she helps teach Misty old spells even though she can't cast them. she at least once says "I can't do spells, I'm not a unicorn! I'm a street magician if street magicians could bend reality!

I think Discord is not only getting rid of for go so the pony tribes don't turn against each other again but also wants to stop so when he does turn evil again he wouldn't have he's magic to do anything chaotic.
He looks just as old as Q does in the new Star Trek series.
Also, I really like the video of your analisis of this comic 👍. I guess this comic is not ALL BAD cause the explanation of Discord about the past before G5 was interesting and shocking at the same time to see how he was completely transformed him, to someone that assume that removing everything can lead to something favorable in the end... For all Twilight's talk of friendship it is shockingly easy to turn the ponies of equestria against one another, what was the point of a school of friendship if 1 evil mare can undo everything it taught and more just by being racist and mildly violent.
Sombra was a mind controlling tyrant willing to take a baby hostage yet his actions either result in no serious lasting effects or in the alternate timeline the tribes coming together even closer albeit in a militaristic teamwork sort of way.

This comic perfectly illustrates my issues with the writing from G4 which I find to be extremely funny.
1) those Equestrian Kingdom ponies were found to be really open to manipulation. I thought it was just bad writing as plot devices but apparently I guess that was just a characteristic about them. Thank goodness they’re all dead.
2) Celestia made these kinds of tyrannical decisions for everyone, and now Twilight’s repeating the course. I classified Twilight as a “psychopath” in my last review to date, and this seems like something exactly Psychotic Twilight would do. It’s not only unlikable, but it kind of makes it seems like the entire journey of the series was for nothing. In fact that kind of behavior directly contradicts the moral of “Sounds of Silence”. Just further goes to show that writers for this series don’t even watch their own show.
3) This indirectly confirms a suspicion I had about draconequus nature- *they age*. This might have been obvious, considering that Discord in G4 was kind of bushy and old, but I heard theories about that just being character design to match John deLancie’s style.
I think this aging process is necessary to make room for other draconequui to fill the role. For example, in a story I’ll be writing, Event Horizon is not the first draconequus of Destruction, and when he is manifest to ponykind, he looks a lot younger than I have him now. Might do a video about this.
I think Discord is completely in character in this comic and I don’t know why other people are complaining.
I agree, Discords character is fitting here and actually seems like the draconequus we know, and I would like to see more draconequui, since my OC actually was one of those too before he got turned into a normal pony, well, kind of normal

I basically have 3 thing's to say about this comic, I did buy it and read it.
1. I can't decide if Discord is serious or if he is testing the Mane 5.
We all know that Discord is not above doing such thing's.
2. At the part where it show's Twilight creating the crystal's. You can see that Rainbow Dash & Applejack are holding each other's leg's or hooves. Anyway, there are many who are using this to strengthen the RD&AJ ship, which I'm so apart of. And in my opinion their ship doesn't need strengthening cause as far as I'm concerned Rainbow Dash and Applejack are married. The only thing that can change my mind is if Hasbro somehow say's, most likely through Gen5 in some way, that Rainbow Dash and Applejack aren't together in anyway. Then and only then will I abandon the RD&AJ ship.
3. While reading this comic and seeing that mysterious unicorn I had a crazy thought. Before I continue Please Note that I'm NOT in anyway referring to that Alicorn in Make Your Mark, I'm talking about the mysterious unicorn in this comic.
So what if this mysterious sinister unicorn is Twilight's Daughter. Just imagine how heartbreaking and soul shattering that'd be. And I mean her daughter daughter, not a unicorn she adopted. Her physical biological daughter. And that could be the answer to how did a unicorn have such influence. She is Twilight's Daughter. Though many might wonder/ask if she is indeed Twilight's Daughter then how could she do such thing's. Well kid(s) don't alway's grow up the way parent(s) want/expect.
Am adding on a 4th thing since it was brought up in another TH-cam Video that I commented on. 4. Why doesn't Discord say the mysterious unicorn's name.
Have 2 possibilities as to why.
1. Perhap's for what she did Discord refuses to acknowledge her as Twilight's Daughter or even to say her name. Thus he refer's to her as Mysterious Unicorn.
2. 2A ~ And maybe Hasbro has yet to decide who they want this Character to be, thus dubbed Mysterious Unicorn for now.
2B ~ Or maybe Hasbro has decided and as part of that decision this Character isn't gonna be fully revealed yet. Thus dubbed Mysterious Unicorn for now.

From what I’m seeing in the comic…There’s no proof right now that magic is what the dark cloud or mystery unicorn was after in the first place. Granted it’s safe to assume it is. considering it’s what every villain wants.
For twilight to take away magic and put it into crystal…..it feels like a cheep cop out. in my opinion. I get that her friends are much older now and maybe can’t help her the same way they did in the past…. But gurl! you be a power house yourself and you got other alacorn family members you could turn to.
And with the magic taken away…( depending how much was taken at the time)
Every pony would be forced to be equals with earth ponies. Considering they can’t use magic or fly anymore.
Perhaps the reason why every pony left and lived separately was more because They Became mad at twilight for taking magic away.
Kinda like what happened when Starlight Glimmer tried to have her perfect village.
With every pony being magic-less, there wouldn’t be a reason for them to fight over there type differences. They’d be mad over time because they couldn’t keep it.

Maybe it is my personal bias speaking because I have been incredibly emotional over this, but I honestly don’t like that discord is the one to be the villain here. I really just can’t bring myself to enjoy a media where I am forced to acknowledge that he outlived fluttershy, which was like a thing that we all knew was coming but you didn’t have to think about it, and now it’s just in your face, and I really don’t trust them to further discuss this topic in a respectful and deep way that would bring real closure to older fans, because it’s already made clear that he’s supposed to be in the antagonist with a semi-sad backstory the new viewers won’t feel connected to. I am pretty sure that the plot is just going to be “Discord bad, discord sad, discord was wrong, discord happy again” and idk, it just feels like a punch in the gut. It feels cheap. Maybe it’s just me, but deep down I hoped that after Fluttershy died he would disappear or die or anything just so he doesn’t have to forever grief her, knowing that he is immortal while she’s forever gone and how little time in an immortal existence he was able to spend with her. I just hope that she died in peace and he has fond memories of her last years.
