I was there as an orchestra member. It was so memorable night because the audience were great, even fanatic (in nice way). After the concert,i was talked to by two audience from ENGLAND!! Flashing light on the stage was no probrem to see the notes, and we had a small light for each stand.Unfortunately, there were very limited rehearsal time,so i agree that the performance, sound balance was not perfect. Mr.Uematsu seemed to me as very nice, humble person and I respect his music.
I always admire singers like these because they're just so good and have great control over their voices. The intstrument players are good as well. The whole bit always give me chills. This is great--thank you for uploading.
i just can watch/listen this for the rest of my life and will never get tired of it. waaaaaaaaaay much better and intense than "beginners" of fantasy hahaha
i've seen many group doing this song. and this is the best orchestra for the song. bravo. anyway, the stage is full of blinking light, i wonder if they can they look at their notes without getting headache?
Oh my.... thats all that comes to mind This was amazing! I absolutely love the FF8 music, makes me feel as if I'm in the game, just as lynceee said, I feel like I'm in an epic battle or something along those lines... The music in the game just grabs you and pulls you into the moment... Best music for an FF game IMHO
This is extremely epic beyond comprehension, its more epic than nine thousand raditz! It would've been awesome to have a swordplay choreography in front the orchestra during this
lmao this shouldn't be as awesomely amazing as it is. I mean, I know they record it so someone has to play it, but watching it makes it that much more incredible!!!!
@Shinzoken This was the first song that really resonated with me from a video game. Everytime I hear it, I get this amazing feeling of when I played through FFVIII the first time. Your comment has made me quite happy.
I once listened to that at work. My boss wondered if it was some great classic composer (Schuber?) VG music has come a long way since the bleeps and boops of the Atari 2600 :)
Opening of the most epic Final Fantasy story ever made. The story just pulls you in like you are in the game yourself. Have to say that when i finished it that i felt a bit down cuz the story was over...
In the games before X, no. they are arranged by Uematsu and recorded in MIDI and on computers with keyboards. In all games after X they are recorded by an orchestra and are not usually by Uematsu.
I think that you have the wrong idea from this song, behind all the power, all the fights, the energy, behind all of this, there is a love story, and for me that's the real message of the song.
Look I've been to Japan, and it's not just a stereotype, NOBODY speaks any western language, maybe one in a thousand Japanese speaks English, so the fact that these people can master latin like this, is a lot more impressive than it seems.
Surgite Invenite Veni hortum veritatis Horti verna veritatis Ardente veritate Urite mala mundi Ardente veritate Incedite tenebras mundi alter krieg ich ne gänsehaut bei dem geilen song *.*
Goddammit this gives me the creeps. I loved playing Final Fantasy when I was younger, but then I didn't appreciate the music. I think I gotta buy this one again to play it^^
@nidodeproteccion No, it's not just you, I thought that the female vocalists (you know, sopranos and altos and all them) were really quiet...the male vocalists were louder than them...but, yes, this is freaking awesome. To quote lepianiac: "This is twelve kinds of fucking epic."
This song is in Latin, except those words: "Fithos Lusec Wevos Vinosec" coz it means "Succession of Witches" and "Love". It`s a great theme:] I love it

FF8, the best FF game in my opinion!
This piece is soft like a fresh breeze and powerful as an heavenly thunder at the same time. Simply wonderful.
this is definitely my favorite song in FF8.
and these guys sound AWESOME doing it.
Even now I still get chills! This was the better half of my childhood.
I was lucky enough to see Distant Worlds in Vancouver last year. It was just as good as this rendition and still brings shivers to me hearing it here.

Goosebumps. Amazing how an orchestra can be.
This sounds even better than playing a cd of the OST! Glorious...
Ich glaub ich sollte niemals auf so ein Konzert gehen denn ich könnte nicht aufhören zu applaudieren.
Großartige Musik!
Listening to this music in 2017. Loving it.
Still brillant in 2018.

This song in special was recorded with a true orchestra for the game's introduction.

In the games before X, no. they are arranged by Uematsu and recorded in MIDI and on computers with keyboards. In all games after X they are recorded by an orchestra and are not usually by Uematsu.
Thank god for the stand lamps, i don't think they could read the music with all the flashing light lol.
Absolute masterpiece from an amazing game.
this is so pure powerful!!
This particular song is from Final Fantasy 8, it is in the opening scene. I think you may be confusing this song with another.
Wah omg I can't stop crying when I hear this awesome piece of music T_T
I think that you have the wrong idea from this song, behind all the power, all the fights, the energy, behind all of this, there is a love story, and for me that's the real message of the song.

I agree with hanzobarren. The volume of this video has to be turned up really high to hear the video. Despite that, it's a great video.
