This is a local emergency alert system providing.. an emergency alert for a neighboring county to the one I live in. This video is old and I have neglected to upload it until I found it buried somewhere. So here it is!

The voice came from the National Weather Service. This office in Gray, Maine had to use the older computer voice because the newer one based on human syllables wasn't working.

This voice is used on a lot of NOAA Weatheradio stations. There's a new one, and I only heard it a few times.

This was also the first text to speech voice on NOAA Weather Radio through the late 1990s to middle 2016, it would read everything, not just the Station ID. But eventually around 2002 other voices on NOAA weather radio would come in yearly like, Craig 2002-2004, Donna 2002-2016, Tom 2003-2016. And DECTalk Paul/Harry/Igor (1990-2016) which is the voice you hear in this video. The voice that you hear in this video would occasionally and rarely read out an EAS Alert, but mainly it only reads out NOAA Weather Radio station identifications. (Or aka Station ID and the current time) But now the voice you hear currently on NOAA Weather Radio today is a voice called Neospeech/VoiceText Paul.

@@augustacovington481 They are TTS voices that were used back in the day by the NWS, starting all the way back from 1998/1999.
The DECTalk voices were first, then the VIP voices being first Craig and Donna, then replaced Craig with Tom and fixed Donna.

Apparently their regular voice failed, so they had to use the old one. My EAS #88/89 has the same error, but on a 2011 winter storm warning.
