  • Heres another we have completed. Small but packed with different aspects making it interesting to build.
    The ground was sloped off over 700mm so we opted for a different method of providing a base.
    Theres another video detailing the base type and ill put it on the end of the video as a link.
    The sound proofing was supplied by the customer and we have fit as requested.
    I really enjoyed most aspects of this build as it was a little different to our norm.
    Thanks for watching.

    Hi Liam, The soundproofing isolation clip is the MuteClip and MuteClip Channel you have used in the build (6:11).
    The Membrane between the 2 layers of acoustic board is the Tecsound SY70 which is a viscoelastic membrane.
    The rubber product on the floor is MuteMat OSF 750-10 with the Perimeter flanking band (blue band around the edge).
    Looks like really high-quality work as always!!

      I've used the Muteclip and MuteClip Channel products from iKoustic and they are really easy to use.

    I love the way you never seem to say ‘no we don’t get involved with that kind of thing’. You will do exactly what the customer requires as in this build with all the specialist materials and techniques. Great work as ever Liam and the team

    great video and build guys! I mainly build open structures (pergola's etc.) but this is some great inspiration! Also loved seeing how you guys close up non visible areas (using metal roofing). Been having trouble with these area's getting it done cheaper then using nice wood.

      it went against everything I wanted to do, but like you say, looked ok. The customer wanted it to function rather than look pretty. things I would of changed maybe next time? galvanised trunking and boxes etc

    Another sound tip, when using two layers of plasterboard use a soundblick and another type same with glass thickness of each pane.
    Frequency cant travel through different thicknesses as easy as it ,an through two of the same material.

    Hi Liam and Team, loving the channel keep up all the good work!!! I wanted to ask (i get the cold roof and hybrid etc..) why do you not completely fill the roof with insulation? Why leave a small gap? Is that for air flow... the gap that is the ambient temperature of the room...
    Many Thanks

    Another great vid. Thanks for uploading. Did you run the cat6 cable alongside the power cable? I'll be doing the same to my garden room. Do you what type (spec) of cables they were. I get confused about 'interference' of high voltage cable to low voltage (something like that!?).

    • @thegardenroomguru
      @thegardenroomguru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cutting into the boards apparently will defeat the object so everything was surface

    • @rickyr7007
      @rickyr7007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct. The aim for soundproofing is to have a “room inside a room”. You can get sockets that go into the wall and have options to ensure that sound doesn’t pass through. However, given the space available, external conduits would be the best option.
