I bought a bmw car in US from a bmw dealer and brought it back to Malaysia. I had a small accident and needed to change my side mirror. I went to Autobavaria and was denied service by Autobavaria. They cited that they cant look at my car even though I quoted safety concerns as my side mirror was rosak. I wrote to BMW in the US complaining about Autobavaria. Two weeks later I got a call from Autobavaria and suara baik je suruh aku datang tengok kereta aku. Menyampah!
baru tahu, mentang2 handle malaysia punya branch buat kepala sendiri. Bila forward complaint dekat hq dan cawangan lebih besar baru tahu langit tinggi rendah
Auto Bavaria really doesn't have a skilled technician. All the skilled ones tend to open their own shop. My car stuck there for almost 2 weeks after software update. End up I have to settle it myself & reset the whole coding again. Lousy AB.
Malaysia mmg mcm tu….western consumer service jauh better…sbb tu kalau pakai product luar…FIRST…contact directly dengan customer service luar negara(official) and suruh depa quote ka note ke apa baru tanya local punya and tunjuk apa yg customer service luar negara brand tu cakap…baru depa mcm terima ja sbb xboleh nak konar2 dh…mostly depa akan diam and proceed saja 😂😂😂

The only conti you can "reliably" maintain ialah Merc & BMW jer. Yang lain akan cekik darah sampai kering, itu khabar aku dpt.

JR Song, Welcome to the BMW family... Congrats 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Baru je follow channel awak. Konten memang best dengan penyampaian selambe je 👍🏻. Saya pun minat hatchback ni tapi masa nak beli sama situasi macam awak. BMW dah tak jual 118i. Tapi dalam masa sama saya fikirkan warranty. Sebab masa beli beberapa tanun lepas, 218i ada 5 years extended warranty.

Ni jgk 1 masalah bila beli recond car spec lain. Mcm kes jr ni dia spec jepon. Yg branch ni mampu resolve uk spec. Utk part manual repairing boleh la dorang settlekan. Klau part system kita kne cr tmpt lain plak. Anyway tq jr for sharing information

Saya beli toyota camry baru 2003. Satu kali servis kat toyota saya. Dah 20 tahun service kat indie atau sendiri. Tukar minyak hitam dan filter tu buat sendiri. No problem 20 tahun still strong. Brake pad beras. Cadangkan beli obd2 khas utk kereta dan check sendiri apa2 problem sebelum. Ada beli merc kat uk saya beli odb2 khas utk merc.
Saya guna kereta continental...semua jenis 4 gelang...service boleh tahan harga tapi mcm user lain kata ada alternative bengkel... saya jumpa satu yg sangat bagus...lupa location...memang ada setengah kereta conti ctr ori tak amik keta recond...pastu sombong lak. Kadangkala baik beli keta local, kalau rosak...bengkel Ahmad, Muthu n Ah Chong bolih repair😂😂😂
Sy pakai merc japan spec. Pergi SC tak pula kena caj bayar. Tapi kereta accident pergi sc, bumper pun dari germany. Sbb model limited. So far pakai merc recond je. Nak beli di show room mahal.
Boleh dapat nasihat dari fellow motor vloggers dimana boleh dapat contact workshop yg. specialist keta BMW di luar sana. 😅

Wah baru tau setiap 12,000km servis kalau bmw, proton 10,000km untuk exora saya. Model 2009 tapi still buat di sc proton juga walaupun tak semurah bengkel luar hehe

Did you consider buying extended warranty package from companies like Opal or GMR? I think the can cover up to 7 year old cars. But you need to service with their network of workshops.

Suggest to buy car extended warranty from insurance company, my ex-car X1 F48 Y2018 steering rack spoiled 3 times within warranty period and it’s not cheap when the warranty is over.😅
Actually this one is a policy for most cars that have recond variants sold here.
But good thing for you is, that aircond vent and glovebox issue that you have? You can get it sorted here with the original parts. And be nice with the any if the technicians there and maybe you can convince them to throw you that M badge for free hehe.
Alao its kinda odd that their system only reads for UK spec cars ehen technically Japan spec should be able to read into our system as well since region wise we are not far apart.
Yes. Aku pun lebih suka service di sc berbanding kedai luar. Lebih trusted😅 bab harga mmg lebih sikit tapi xbyk beza pun dgn service diluar.. yg penting brg2 option yg tak wajib, tak perlu ditukar😬

3 cyl murah kot maintenance. Kne yg 6cyl bmw normal servis xlari 800-1000 🤙🏾.. servis kedai luar yg bmw specialist, parts nanti kau kne slalu compare harga auto bavaria, stuttgart, private seller bmw group malaysia, bengkel bmw tu.

Servis kt bengkel biasa je.byk skrg bengkel2 yg lebih pandai buat kereta2 conti ni.pengalaman aku svc kt bengkel biasa yg pandai buat kereta conti ni is much cheaper dn bagus dr servis centre.kelebihan servis centre ni cuma ada tempat menunggu ala2 VIP kononnya.itu je.kdg2 benda yg x rosak pun drang akn srh tkr sbb mereka kt svc centre kejar sale.diagnose pun drang akn charge ok.my advice xpyhlh kt svc centre.so far aku lebih selesa servis kt bengkel biasa je.

Banyak je bengkel luar dah ada master mechanic, orang lama pakai brand ni dia akan cari dan kenal mechanic dulu bukan official shop je

I think reputable service centres around also can provide services to BMW car owners…… not necessarily BMW Authorised Service Centre unless still under warranty.
If you can suggest some reputable service centres that would be great 👍
Bli bmw kt msia 5 tahun dtg servis free kecuali utk part. Pas 5 tahun warranty habis jual la 😆

Khabarnya UK spec banyak kereta kuat kena barai.. Sbb tu ramai prefer spec Jepun.
UK semua bawak laju2 ...Japan pakai slow2 aja lagi pun dia org mana ada pakai kereta banyak2 so millage pun rendah la lepas itu kat jepun yang pakai kereta besar2 ini biasanya org betul2 kaya bukan pasal harga kereta tapi parking kereta masalah besar diaorg 😆

UK spec perlu lihat kerangka ,celah2 besi,bawah2...sbb di sana 4 musim, salji ada unsur garam,banyak karat,diagnos rasanya banyak bengkel otai2 conti di luar andai kata perlu diagnos,maka bli Japan spec,servis di servis rasmi BMW,perlu diagnos je baru pibengkel2 rasmi conti yg outsider la kiranya
Tapi careful lah beli kereta recon x kira from Japan or UK bcoz kawan aku beli Alphard from Japan tengok2 gearbox masuk air lepas 5 bulan pakai, rupanya bekas masuk air laut. Kena tsunami kot, who knows
Tolola dgn hondo pun mahal juga sekarang . Bengkel luar jela. Utk ank muda ni idea boleh keluar buka bengkel conti . Beli je diagnostic tool dr alibaba , belajar mechanic 2-3 tahun keluar , beli basic tool utk keta ni. Charge murah 20% pun ok dah. Guna fesbok utk promo lor

Lebih baik hantar service centre walaupun mahal. Sebabnya bengkel luar ni cakap saja pandai tapi result lagi banyak rosak dari settle problem asal. Bengkel2 ni banyak yang dia tak tahu tapi rasa pandai dari yang certified technicians. Contohnya kedai radiator tuang air dengan coolant sedangkan spec mesti guna premix coolant. Akhirnya injin panas rosak serta gearbox rosak sekali. Just becoz harga luar 400 lebih murah akhirnya kereta keluar modal 10k untuk major repair

no need to send to dealer...its a 118i...as basic as it can get...can send to shops like prestige care care and they're many reputable bmw specialists out there...ive had experience where bmw dealer couldnt solve my 740LE issues and a third party workshop solved it for me...

Same happen to my cousin toyota vios, the sc tech said the door control module problem thats why toggle button for window is malfunction, sent to normal workshop it is the cable is lock properly connected, LOL 😂

Servicing at authorised dealers are more than just servicing the car...
Yes , they are many capable foreman and workshops outside but of course , when you do it at the dealer, its more than just a service to your car.
You pay for the ambience, environment , comfort etc.
Having said all that, when you dont need those, feel free to seek one outside. Of course, I myself service all my vehicles outside once the warranty is over.
I think 1k for a membership fee, so call, its pretty ok, not expensive at all.
Porsche charges way more for a recond, if you want to go in.
So for BMW, its pretty good value if they allow you to service your car there

@im_jrsong but just curious, is your car a special spec, or out of the norm because as far as I know 118i M sport is not that rare in the market , so was just wondering maybe your has certain specs...I know the M140i is not easy to obtain in the market but not the 118i...
@im_jrsong yeah agree, of course you still need to pay for it. Since it's free now, then you can just opt to try it out, 550 for regular service is extremely cheap. But I wouldn't suggest that you return to authorised dealer , if there are fixes necessary because its a recond , it will cost a bomb, and since its a BMW, some parts you can use OEM to replace but you know , at authorised service centre obviously you can't do that. Just an example a lower arm maybe 3k but at AB perhaps double.
But since you are a youtuber for cars, you would probably know better and have more knowledge on it than me
@im_jrsong but seriously BMW and Mercedes are the easiest of the continentals to maintain , at least in the cars that I owned, in comparison to the rest like Porsche, Audi ,Range Rover , Jaguar..
So its a relatively good choice by far, won't kill you definetely.
But 118i M sport is a decent car, engine robust not too fast but competent, gearbox shifts are great
