Listening to Iris’s Gaelic, 🎉I understand, for the first time, the roots of an Irish brogue.

Shnacht , snow : снег ( sneg ) . Compare the Russian! Because the Celtic languages stand in time’s seniority with others as old as them, they’re also helpful in assimilating the ‘world languages’ ..At any rate , I’ve always thought that it’s a pity the dictionary making centres in Dublin and Cardiff haven’t done more work in presenting the comparative linguistics side of this.

Idk what Cardiff got to do,completely different Celtic languages group that divided 2 millennia ago. Most recent development was between Scottish and Irish Gaelic around the time of Norman invasion. Welsh are more akin to continental Celts.
