    I love the winsor & newton one it looks like a digital painting wish they'd make more color choices

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had never thought of it as like digital painting but I do like that. I have to admit I always think they should release more colours, especially in the brush marker versions because I don't think they even have their full range in it!

      @@SketchedbySte yeah I wish they'd do that since their ink has no texture which looks extremely awesome compared to other marker brands

    W&N looks smother and blended well. The others patchy and rough.

    W&N looks more like Warm Grays than Cool Grays...even the touchnew one looks way better!!

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep! In the standard Winsor & Newton pro markers ( not brush markers ) they have more colours and I think they actually have some 'blue greys' which I guess would be closer?

    • @didi7074
      @didi7074 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SketchedbySte Probably? But still quite a disappointment. The colors are pretty but they don't match their name or even the other cool grays.

    • @morganread488
      @morganread488 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a quite neutral grey. The W&N Ice grey is near identical to the Copic Cool Greys.

  • @Ryoushi_Akanagi
    @Ryoushi_Akanagi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    W&N looks really nice, but I think that might just be related to "Cool Gray" making things look lifeless. W&N not being truly "cool" gave the pidgey a less cold robotic look, so it's hard to tell if they were the superior markers, or only seem that way due to the difference in tone (and therefore effect)

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you're not wrong, I didn't actually realise until I started recording, how different their greys were, I'm not sure they should have labelled them quite like that. Or maybe it's just compared to the others?

    This is best comparison tutorial I have seen far away on TH-cam about these markers. 👍 This is very helpful video. Thanks I have a quick question if W$N other set of grey colors available individually ...? I meant set of grey color so we can mix and match?

    Great video. As you say the brush nib on brushmarkers feels a little bit dryer and it bends differently. I also feel like it doesn’t blend as good to white as copics brush nib does. And I’m so disappointed at the color range at W&N. Just realized a few months ago copic have much lighter shades and it has helped a lot drawing portraits.

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for watching Kristina! Yeah before I started using markers I could never understand why anyone would want the super pale shades.. now I can see why! It's just a shame that copics are so expensive! Your portraits are fantastic by the way - I see them on Instagram :)

    TouchNew now have brush nibs as well, so they are def worth it. Abd the coolest thing: while they dont offer open stock, you can buy a smaller set and choose which colors you want in it by adding the information to your order. This way you can replace certain markers.
    Or you can simply refill them with Ohuhu or Touch Twin ink.

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for the info, I am pretty intrigued to try them out as brush markers! It's a shame they don't just sell the ink separate as well for refills ( Ohuhu just started releasing marker ink refills so I have a feeling other companies may start soon! ) but been able to pick and choose markers in the set is actually pretty cool depending on how it works - I haven't seen other marker companies do that yet. I will take a look now, is it on their official website? Thanks again

    Hello, wich markers would be better for car sketches? Cool grey set or neutral grey?

    • @SketchedbySte
      @SketchedbySte  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for watching, I have never actually sketched any cars so would be interested in hearing opinions of others too. But in all honestly I don't think it will make any difference other then personal preference, would you prefer a warmer look or maybe a colder steel look? I think either way is good, with the neutral you could always blend in some faint pencil colour to give it a tint :)

      Hey, I usually use Bristol board for markers, but it's quite expensive in my opinion. Some people prefer those thinner marker papers you get in a sketchbook form, usually about 70gsm compared to the 250-300 thickness of bristol board
