Will under wraps help strengthen the double guide feet on fly rods as well?

If using nylon, do you mix the UV finisher with the epoxy or put it directly on the thread and do you let it dry before applying epoxy? I’m pretty new at this.

Seems to make the guides pop more if thread on feet is darker than the decorative underwrap
