  • A demonstration of how to take a full mouth series of x-rays with the XCP-QT.
    This DXTTR has a broken #8 and a few molars that are rotated, even so, the angles and techniques I demonstrate will serve you well as you take x-rays on your patients. If there is a problem you are struggling with as you take your radiographs, let me know in the comment section below. I'd be happy to discuss it with you. For more information go to www.dentalfunceu.com
    All the best,
    Mrs. Simpson

    Thank you Janet, for your descriptive video , I went to a dental assisting program and even during my program I was not shown in great detail how to properly place digital sensers in the mouth. I was shown multiple ways , however, now I have even a better understanding of the placement of the X cp equipment. Thank you.

    As a dental hygienist for 44yrs I found your video to be very helpful in the use of sensors. Your teaching style proved “that you can teach an old dog new tricks” since I will be subbing in an office with the latest digital equipment! I also love the universal XCP ring system. Thanks!

    I sometimes miss the canine when doing premolar even though I put it in the middle of canine, do you have an tips?

    • @janetsimpson2165
      @janetsimpson2165  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Danna,
      Great question! This is a very common problem with the wired digital sensor. I have two thoughts. First when placing the sensor, place the anterior edge of the sensor toward the midline. It will be at an angle with the anterior edge near 24 & 25.. Then pull the PID forward and project (angling slightly back) through the contacts. I'll upload a photo that will explain it better. Try that. It will get you closer to the target.
      The other thing to consider is that it's hard to get textbook quality x-rays with the wired sensor. but we don't need more textbooks, we need diagnostic quality x-rays. So if you have a good image of the canine and even the first premolar in your canine shot, you are good to go. Don't sweat it. :)
      Thank you for pursuing excellence! Keep it up. Just be aware that most of us face this limitation due to the thick and rigid sensor.

    Can U plz tell me why take bitewings when PAs are taken during full mouth xrays

    • @thisismyprivateaccount6546
      @thisismyprivateaccount6546 ปีที่แล้ว

      both bitewings and pas are taken in an fmx full mouth series

    • @janetsimpson2165
      @janetsimpson2165  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Charizard,
      Thank you for asking this great question and I apologize that I didn't reply sooner. The main reason is that bitewing x-rays are able to be placed close to the teeth which gives a higher degree of clarity and less magnification. This allows the dentist to spot incipient decay earlier in the process and catch cavities before they do too much damage to the tooth. Also, they are less subject to distortion from placement errors. PA's show the entire tooth and the surrounding tissues. they are important for the dentist to have an overall sense for the patients oral health and of course it helps them to see all sorts of conditions. For example, I know of a person who had an FMX then 9 months later had a Panoramic Xray. (He wanted invisilign so the doc had that taken) Thank goodness he did!. In just that short of period of time, n ameloblastoma had destroyed alveolar bone, the roots of #30. The patient did not have any pain and the only reason it was caught was the doctor prescribing xrays. It was also very fortunate for the dentist that the FMX was taken because it proved that he was not negligent.
      I hope that helps. :)
