    This car can be perfect as a taxi, and the rear passenger can use the front seat as a table or as a footstool. So weird that I kinda like it.

    This car is sometimes used to carry disabled people, the passenger seat could be lifted will be very useful. The door served as B pillar, that's probably why it is super heavy.
    Thanks for the video, it's great.

    Think the name refers to the German "raum" meaning space/spacies. Quirky car, wouldn't get one myself. But I can see the appeal.

    The seats fold forward in the Dodge Caravan the back seat of the last two generations. You can usually for long items. PT Cruiser pass seat also folds flat for the same reason.

      That car has three different names depending on your country. It's was called the Echo in Canada before it changed names to Yaris. In Japan it has always been called the Vitz. It's funny, when I use the Japanese names people call me stupid and when I call it the other country names, people call me stupid. I suppose it's just the nature of the TH-cam comment section.

    No offence, but I really can't see the appeal of shipping a 5 seater hatchback to Canada when there are plenty of similar offerings in NA. I mean it's not that unique apart from its looks, and the flipping seat.

      I had the older generation of these in Japan, it was a decent car, but I don't know why anyone would want to import a RHD car from Japan to a LHD country unless it was really special. Oh and my supervisor in Japan always called it a 'Laumu'

    • @XlouietheflyX
      @XlouietheflyX 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I GAVE mine away when it was too old to be worth doing the road certification ... probably cost no more than $300, possibly a lot less. This is after I paid $1600 for it six months previously ... my neighbours no doubt sold it to a Russian car dealer who shipped it to Vladivostock (I lived in Toyama).

    Raum, German word, means room, or can refef to "living space" I've had two of fhese cars, and absolutely love them!! Bought my second car two weeks ago,,only 34500 k's on the clock, goes really well!! Not at all "weird" as the presenter of this video seems to think!! It's possible to get a completely flat floor right up to the back of the front seats with these "weird" cars. In short, in no way are these cars weird!! ...... I do think however that that the presentef may be just a little ... "weird"!!! These cars are becomming increasingly popular in In NZ, and please learn how to pronounce "Raum" . The "au" phonetically is owm, as in brown or frown,. Got it??? Say Rowm, ok?? Not really weird at all.

    Weird and kind of ugly car, but I dig it. Tip on that white paint, until fairly recently(like last 3-5 model years) regular Toyota white paint is a single stage enamal. No clearcoat. If you don't keep it washed/waxed, it does that chalky crap like this car has. Good news is get a buffer and some compound, you can get that paint looking brand new again. Same thing with that Toyota red that fades to pink, its a single stage enamal.
    Also I kind of wonder about the odometer readings on some of these cars you have, if they've been rolled back. I'm not trying to defame you or anything, as I'm sure you run an upstanding business and ARE NOT the ones rolling odometers back. Its just you buy stuff from auction, it has multiple owners, its old and so few km, etc Anyways here in the states it isn't hard to roll back an odometer and pass it off as actual miles if you know how to game the system.
    25,000km and the steering wheel is already showing wear on it. That's the type of thing that kind of gives you pause IMO.
