I like the fact that you treat your fish with respect. Most of these youtubers just throw their fish from a standing position and do some potentially fatal but certainly permanent damage to the fish. Theyre not built to be thrown in the water from 6 feet away.
Man nothing better than hearing birds chirping then bam fish on! 2 fish to start the day before work makes the work day even better. Loved seeing Charles with the cameo.
Awesome that youre disciplined enough to keep switching presentation. I get so caught up in, "Well its already produced results" forgetting that with a sample size of 1 lure how do i know another wont be better. Good video
That last lure, the Yum Money Craw, was made to sell a similar product without paying royalties to Christie for the Christie Craw. Read it in some site about "behind the scenes of anglers"😂😂😂 My favorite texas bait is Yum Mighty Craw watermelon/red flake (2012 Yum)
Great video. Good to see you trying different baits. By the looks of your results i would they are not ready for the top water bite yet. Looks like they are still looking for bottom crawlers to feed on. Have a great weekend!
I started left hand casting with my baitcaster because I saw your videos and wanted to take up the challenge. It feels really awkward, but it's not as hard as I was expecting.
Gr8 way to start the day! It was gr8 interacting with ya I. Chunky Cats live stream! Very cool supporting smaller dude that works his channel hard! I'm still giving ur Realistic Fishing t-shirt the credit for all the action he had!! Lmao
I've always had my best luck with the torpedo over top of the weeds. Try twitching it like a popper two or three twitches and a pause, twitch pause repeat. When a bass grabs it it will be like an explosion. They have always worked for me in the spring however I am up in New England and it just might be that they just don't excite the fish there like they do up here. Keep trying it. Like the chatter-bait or the frog, sooner or later you will make it work. We both know you can do it.
Torpedo is my all time favorite top water! Most people say to just reel it so the prop turns...I’ve never gotten a bite that way. Ever. I like to slightly torque the blades to give it more water resistance and therefore noise, then just pop it like a pop-r or hula popper
Keep up your awesome videos. Life has been hectic this semester, but now it is time to get back to realistic fishing. What are your thoughts on Solunar fishing calendars?
He will answer and this is literally just from my experience using them...they can sorta help but the key is still to just go try when you're able. It can have a decent impact on inshore and saltwater stuff because of the fluctuations...just like the old saying raising water the fish will bite, dropping water and they'll shut off. It holds somewhat true, especially on the TVA reservoir type bodies, but I have caught some amazing fish in the worst conditions possible, didn't get many, if any, other bites when I did though. So if ya have a day off and only want to put in a certain amount of time, you can look to them for the more opportune times, but never decide not to go because of them. In the words of Richard Gene, go fishing when ya can...because it's good fer ya.
Regardless of what Gene says, I say it matters, but more so during certain times of the year like the spawn. I have had good days during all phases of the moon so its not worth worrying too much.
My most productive top water bait is the Heddon Spook or Spook Jr. Simple walking bait that pioneered "walking the dog". I haven't much success with any prop bait. I have clear water in my region & maybe they're just too much. Tight lines buddy.
Houston..we have a jumper..that bass hit that lure hard and fast..that was awesome...looks like you are mastering that left handed cast pretty dern good bro..what a day..two bass..that's sweet right there..had a blast..always get excited when you hook into a fish..great video..great job..keep it realistic! 👍🏻
Loved the thrashing young bass. Seems like i catch a lot that size shortly after the spawn. Great video once again Alex, im a proud subscriber since around 40k, thank you for everything!
Don’t give up on that torpedo. I usually catch a dozen or so bass each year on one. My color of choice is bullfrog. Great way to start a workday. I never fished a workday morning. Was pretty sure I’d never make it to work. Fun vid. KIR👍👍
Iv done good with that tiny torpedo lure take and spray some bass attractive on it first and then when you are reeling it those tiny props are spreading that sent like farting in front of a fan !! Lol that's when the bass go nuts and hammer it!! KEEP IT REALISTIC!!👍👍👍👍
I inherited a lure like that from my dad. Tried it several times but I don't think I was working it correctly. My go to top water baits now are a 6" black buzz bait and a rubber frog. Nothing beats an early morning top water blow up.
@@RealisticFishing it clearly has all the proven features, minnow shape with red and spots, plus the noise and agitation from the prop. Just needs the right time and place. You're the master of persistence, keep at it.
Too bad the top water didn't blow up. But those plastics did the trick. Nice bass. You're left handed casting is getting pretty good too man. Keep it realistic!!!
@@RealisticFishing good news for us. Our government eventually opened recreational fishing. Just waiting for regulations and should be back on the water for the first time since March.
You hit on 3 of my favorite lures, haha. The Tiny Torpedo was probably the first lure I caught a top water Bass on, it's great that you can still get those Heddon lures. Can't go wrong with a Paddletail Swimbait, my favorite soft plastic. The RageTail Craw is the craw I go to most often, they catch fish!
I was able to get out for about two hours of neighborhood pond fishing today. Jumbo Blue gill with baby crankbaits! Hoping to get out tomorrow and expand to a bass or two. Keeping my fingers crossed but I have to stay realistic 😄
I consider myself a pretty good angler but 6am ouch...as I get older (38) I have been plotting getting up early to fish.My only day off is Sunday sooo I tend to sleep in.Cast from 2-6p... I gotta try that am shift soon tho
I like the fact that you treat your fish with respect. Most of these youtubers just throw their fish from a standing position and do some potentially fatal but certainly permanent damage to the fish. Theyre not built to be thrown in the water from 6 feet away.
I fished a chatter-bait today for the first time, caught 4 bass which is uncommon in that area.
Uncommon or unfamiliar?
Realistic Fishing hmm, uncharacteristic or unusual may be better words. It was pretty late when I sent that last night 😅
I really appreciate you showing realistic fishing always includes getting snagged. I certainly am a freaking realistic fisherman!
Man nothing better than hearing birds chirping then bam fish on! 2 fish to start the day before work makes the work day even better. Loved seeing Charles with the cameo.
Your left handed casting is going along well my man. Not a bad day on the waters as well. Thanks for doing what you do and remember keep it realistic
That hour and a half before work is less expensive than a therapist I find 😎
For sure!
*”EAT THE WORM YOU PIECE OF SHIT”*
My son now says “Fish!” every time he hooks a bass. Thanks for the inspiration and great channel!
That is awesome!
Looks like every video I watched people just catch that fish...started to be boring to see it all over again.
You’re really progressing with your left handed action 👊🏻
Your left handed casts are looking way better!
Hey most realistic day I have seen yet!!
Gotta keep practicing! 👍
You got that left handed casting down my man!! Great video! KIR
love the places you cast those hooks😊
Yes we keep it realistic! Thanks 🙏🏼 Alex!
Always!
This place reminds me of where I fish here in Brazil.
Congratulations your fishing was amazing beautiful fish.👍🎣😉
Thanks 👍
Very cool. Some baits work some don't. Love the crawls and paddle tail swimmers
They all work, it depends on the fish 😉
I like the way you rigged the swimbait, I'm gonna have to try that
Swim and drop 👍

Most people switch too often, so dont think thats a better approach.
Nice job buddy!! Always enjoy watching 😊👍👍🎣
Glad you enjoyed
Any day u catch fish is a good day.
I agree
Don't give up on that tiny torpedo Alex! I've caught some nice fish on that lure! Freshwater and saltwater! Great video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!
Loved the jump on that 1st bass!! Awesome 👌
I havent had much luck on the mini torpedo either. Texas rigging the pulse minnow that is something I've got to try. Great episode Alex.
They just might like it!
Started your day off right! I was out today. one little striper, but still nice getting out. I'll be out again tomorrow morning!
Good luck!
Always a good watch!
Another feisty fish. 🦈🎣🚣♀️🤠👍

Glad to see you got the lake to your self finally
Had to wake up extra early, but it was worth it
I finally caught a bass on a yum craw it was awesome...

yep, but its almost time!
The Heddon Tiny Torpedo is a great beginner's way to learn top water tactics. Start with basic retrieve, start - stop, popping, walking.
I will try it again. I will find a fish that wants it
I like using it too but my all time favorite top water lure has to be the Heddon hula popper
@@fishfishe6496 the Hula Popper is made by the Fred Arbogast Bait Company, not by Heddon.

I tried it every which way. But I will try it again

It's super satisfying the way the frame rate barely slows down the line coming off the reel in a spiral. Those rage craws are the beeknees

at least you got two fun times thumbs up shared
Thanks DSD 👍
That dark-colored bass was beautiful.

I have 4 of the Heddon torpedoes and I love them. I couldn't believe they catch fish. The whopper plopper is great too.
As of now I dont believe they do, but the day is coming 😅

The original whopper plopper! Tiny Torpedo still slays the smallmouth.
Now I just need to find some smallmouth
My season started this morning, caught a bass and a decent pike on the lipless crankbait... It never gets old. Nice bass !!

Nice job, Alex! Glad you found some quiet space and a couple of bass.
I am glad too. A lot of people out there lately

My very first LMB was on a tiny torpedo, it was from my dad's old tackle box. I still have that lure, has to be about 30-35 years old.
Love your videos man. What rod/reel setup are you using? It sounds so smooth.
13 code black with 8 lb mono or 15 lb braid
