I don’t know how phrase this clearly. I sometimes shoot on an Alexa LF, and I’m considering either upgrading from an IPhone X to a 13pro with this app to use as a viewfinder or buying a Sigma FP. I have the app on my IPhone X but it doesn’t have the wide angle lens and anything wider than like a 50mm it just uses pillar boxing to approximate the shot. Do you know what the widest lens for an LF an iPhone 13 or 13 pro supports without the pillarboxing?
Hey! Hopefully this might help but it’s not an exact answer. I have the iPhone 11 Pro which has the 3 lens, including the wide one. I have no pillar boxes affecting the image when I have Cadrage setup with the LF using open gate or 16:9 mode. Even with something like a 16mm on the LF. There will always be the standard black pillar boxes as seen in the video regardless of the phone I believe, but as mentioned, these don’t affect the image.
Great video! How precise would you say is cadrage? I have found some viewfinder apps to have a tolerance of about +-7mm focal length on longer lenses like a 70mm.. Don't want to purchase another app just for it to not be precise as well : )
The app has various guideline overlays but I don’t think it has the 180 rule specifically. You could export a pdf from Cadrage and add that in yourself though if needed.
That's unfortunate, I'm sure there must be some kind of Android alternative. Sorry I can't recomend anything right now as I don't have an Andorid device.
What do you use when location scouting?
i just bought the app after watching this video , well done and thank you
I hope you find it useful! it's a great app
Informative, direct and concise - what more does one need in a review video? 5/5. Well done!
Thanks for the great feedback, Martin, much appreciated!
Great review, clear and concise. Thanks
You're most welcome, hope it was useful.
Does this app have the BMPCC4k and the Sirui anamorphic lenses?
Yep, they have both =]
@@danielgrindrod thanks.

Thank you! I hope it was useful.

Does it support film formats?
Yes, 16mm, 35mm, 65mm, 70mm, 8mm etc. There is a full list of what formats it supports on their website if you're interested.
Is this only on apple?
Does have anything on the 180° rule?

How about 16 mm ? Or less ?
Yes, they have film 16mm and 8mm. There is a full list on their website if you need to check specifics.
@@danielgrindrod thanks bro
Where to download it?
You can download it from the App Store on ios, just search for Cadrage Director's Viewfinder.
Thanks for the wonderful information. I have a question. Does that charge $20.00 per month or one time charge?
No problem at all! It's just a one time charge.
No support/function on Android. Useless for about 73% of us. They say they have no plans to expand to android.

Its Magic Universal Viewfinder on Android
Complicated!
