Interesting points for sure. I’m sitting right around 3700 view hours this year…just need a few more for ad sharing. I think shorts really help too. I’ve noticed they bring a lot of subscribers in, and can sometimes hit big views. Even though it’s only a minute at a time. That adds up. The views always come in with a big hit out of a new product for me. I think it’s important to stay consistent with uploads too.
Great video Joel! I think something that helps is content creators making genuine connections with each other. People can tell when friendships are being made for the sole purpose of milking views.

View time on shorts does not count toward monetization.
Wise words all around Lions! But I dint think views from shorts play into the 4,000 watch hours… I wish they did!
