Goodnight Vienna ( Jack Buchanan - 1933 ) HMV102 Gramophone.

The actor & singer Jack Buchanan was at the height of his career in the nineteen thirties making movies in the UK & USA . Here he is singing “Goodbye Vienna” from the 1932 film of the same name in which he starred with Anna Neagle. This HMV recording was released a year later in 1933 & is playing here on one of my HMV 102 portable gramophones.

In theory, this should be: "How not to sing a song" but he dares to do it & it works! I never miss a chance to have one of his records. Also like: Fancy Our Meeting. The One I'm Looking For, And Her Mother Came Too.

Yes, probably not the worlds best singer Paul , but he had that certain "something" & as you say ,it works ! 🙂
