    Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
    0:00 - Intro
    1. 4:41 {Has Anyone Seen God?} John 1: 18 tells us, “No man has seen God at any time…” but in Genesis 32: 30, Jacob says, “I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved.” Which is it?
    2. 19:19 {Are we Equal with God in Heaven?} My wife had a question I did not know how to answer: If we are perfected at the end of time and perfect in God's presence, how are we not then equal with God? We realize that we will not be greater than God, but I am not sure how to explain this subject.
    3. 22:35 {Godly Womanhood/Biblical Femininity} How does godly womanhood differ from godly manhood outside of marriage? How do we define biblical femininity, especially for the unmarried woman? Does discipleship look different for women?
    4. 30:13 {The LXX More Reliable for Typology?} Is the Septuagint more reliable for finding Jesus in the Old Testament? S. Douglas Woodward & others say that messianic passages & timelines in the Masoretic Text were altered in 2nd century to keep Jews from converting to Christianity.
    5. 35:52 {Effectively Caring for the Homeless} How are we expected to help homeless people in our modern culture? Are we still expected to invite strangers into our very homes as they did in Bible times?
    6. 42:35 {Must We Have an Eschatological View?} Do you think it is important to have a view on eschatology? Can we just all agree that one day, if we believe in Jesus and what He did on the cross and abide in Him, that we will go to Heaven?
    7. 47:34 {When was the Old Covenant in Effect?} Hebrews 8: 13 says that the Old Covenant is becoming obsolete and about to disappear. Does this mean the Old Covenant was still in effect at the time this book was written?
    8. 54:03 {Should Unequally Yoked Believers Bear Children?} I'm married to an unbeliever. I regret it and I worry that I’ve jeopardized my son's salvation! Would it be better not to have any more children in my “ungodly” marriage even though we'd like to have more?
    9. 1:01:02 {Jesus Leaves & Advocate Comes - Modalism?} Why is the Advocate unable to come unless Jesus leaves (John 16:7)? Why does this not imply Modalism?
    10. 1:05:41 {Believing in God but Not the Bible} How do I bring the Gospel to someone who believes there is a God, but rejects the Bible? My mom doesn’t believe God gave us the Bible and thinks that Christianity is man-made.
    1:13:26 BONUS Q! What's your favorite video game?

    Question 8 hits home for me. I became a Christian about 8 years into my marriage. My husband even told me that he never would have married me had he known I would go down this path. That hurt. But we stayed together and I feel I am a much better wife in the end. Our marriage is better than it's ever been. I pray almost every day that my husband comes to know Jesus but all I can really do is live out my faith the best I can. It's not easy but nothing in life really is, right?

I pray that your husband will turn from unbelief and be reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus, by the Holy Spirit of God, for the salvation of his eternal soul! In Jesus' mighty and precious name, above all names, I pray. Amen. 🙏

      I thought of Lee Strobel, then he mentioned him! His "Case" series of apologetic books are great. The movie, "The Case for Christ", same name as the first book of that series, is encouraging. His wife got saved about the same way into their marriage. He was a committed atheist, she was agnostic. Her life was so different, for the better, he couldn't stand it. He finally got saved and is now such a great writer, pastor, apologist for Christ! But all because she prayed, had patience, and lived before him, Jesus. Do not try to go it alone. Have a solid group of LADIES who are solid in the word an will pray with you,, and walk with you in Christ, not just 'church ladies'. Lord bless, sis, never give up, more is going on in him than you see, if you are doing this!! ☝️

      That’s the same literation given for seeing. As Mike said you may come to an understanding and say “oh I see”. It’s not a physical “seeing”, it’s a coming to knowledge.

      @@kiarahargress4021 I understand what you’re saying but I’m confused on how every situation of someone seeing god is actually seeing god in a different way and not a literal interpretation. For example the 70 elders? Side note - I was raised in a Christian family but haven’t had a proper relationship with the creator recently I’ve been looking into my spirituality so Christianity was a sensible place for me to start. My problem is this book seems a little vague and contradictory. Hi Dirtybags, I want to encourage you to leave no stone unturned in seeking Jesus Christ. I don't have time right now to explain, and I'm not even sure I'd be fully qualified, but I can tell you as a person who was raised in a very confusing and sometimes demonic cult, and as someone who has extensively explored other religions, that Jesus Christ is the absolute answer; you need look no further... His teachings are the most beautiful, hope filled, and life transformational words ever spoken on this planet, His deeds were perfect, and His heart is purer than the most precious gold! There is nothing in any religion that can even hold a candle or compete. His resurrection alone (if nothing else) sets Him apart from every other religion, belief system, or power in Heaven or Earth. Jesus is Love, but not just love, he is also justice. There is and never has been any other being with flesh and bone who is able, and who is worthy, and who has (in God's perfect time) the wisdom and the power to set all things right, to deal with evil, to reward the righteous, and to have the government on his shoulders. I pray that in your search for Truth, spirituality and righteousness, that you will find in Jesus Christ the absolute love, and peace, and wisdom that will lead you into the fullness of his righteousness. Perhaps you can tell that I absolutely adore Him, and I love any opportunity to tell others that truly finding him will be the greatest pursuit you can ever embark upon. He is absolutely everything! My prayers are with you...

    Dealing with the homeless is so tricky. We tried to help a woman we knew (not well) who had a very troubled background. It was clearly stated this was a short term arrangement to keep her off the street. Once she moved in she had every excuse in the book of why she “couldn’t” get a job, said every homeless ministry organization we referred her to was a “scam” and accused us of stealing from her. We had to immediately ask her to leave.
    Sadly people are very good at lying and manipulating.

      I am so grateful to see this video and Mike's comments about the homeless. I feel I can post this here because it is anonymous; I don't tell anyone here because I A. Don't want to be prideful about what I have done and B. I feel like a fool. I met a lady a couple of weeks ago who was having a lot of financial difficulty. She was living in a motel and working as a delivery driver. I felt compassion for her and invited her to my home to talk and I gave her $300.00. I live on a fixed income so for me that was a lot. I shared the gospel with her and she prayed to receive Jesus. I am not supposed to judge, Lord forgive me, but I felt she was not sincere. I gave her the money and my phone number, intending to just talk to her when she needed support. Two days later she called and said she was being evicted from the motel in a few days. We are in our thunderstorm season and I felt horrible that she would be on the street. I withdrew $1200 of my savings and paid the motel directly for her to be able to stay a few weeks. I also paid her cell phone bill so she would have a way to find resources. Come to find out, the motel had given her a break on delaying collecting a significant amount of back rent, so the money only bought her a few days after which they gave her a few days to get out. I collected information about shelters and gave it to her. I called my pastor to help. She was either in denial or expecting me to do something and at first would not look for help. (I could not let her stay with me because I live in a senior citizen govt sponsored apartment and we are not allowed to have overnight guests). To make a long story short, she had to leave. Her room was filled with tons of clothes and stuff; she also had a cat. I went over a few times and helped her load my car with her stuff and take it to a storage unit. She got a motel with what money she did have for 2 days. After that unless something happens she will be homeless. The point: She IS antisocial. No one in her family or friends talks to her or would help. She is very sour, I get the impression she is always like that. I don't know if the Lord is telling me this or not, but I have had a persistent feeling that she is reaping what she sowed. She constantly brings up money. I think she wants me to give her more which I will not do. I only have $300 left. I did tell her I would pay her cell phone bill for a few months so she can contact agencies or churches for help. I did everything because I remembered God's word says to give to the poor, and to not close our hand if it is within our ability to help. I FEEL LIKE A FOOL. I am a new Christian and do not have much discernment yet. I thought that was what I was supposed to do. Needless to say I will give my money to my church; they give to the poor on a regular basis and have more experience and wisdom about it than me. I have learned a very expensive lesson. I ask: Is it wrong of me to want to get as far away from her as I can????

      Back in 2019, I was in the darkest place I've ever been and didn't know a way to get out. I called out to the Lord for help and He met me there, in the dark. He ended up putting brother Mike's teaching and another pastor's preaching in front of me, and I just began to consume (and consume and consume!) I’m staying the path. I’m still struggling, at times more than other, to not walk away and “deconstruct” (I grew up under the “bill gothard rule”), so it’s very hard to discern. We all have our struggles from time to time no matter what you grew up with and circumstances people face now, can all cause us to question sometimes.
      At one point I declared I’m agnostic. That lasted two weeks maybe a month. (I hope
      I’m forgiven from that- I struggle that God didn’t really forgive me- so, what’s new 🙄).
      But, I’ve been listen to this channel, and I leave it on loop every night even when I’m asleep, because I’m doing everything I can think of to hold on.

She talks about how she was able to slowly comb through God's word, with His help, to discern truth from lies, keep her relationship with Him intact, and come out on the other side of it stronger. She probably wrote a book too, cuz everybody writes a book, right? I don't know if those resources would be helpful to you, but when I saw your comment it came to mind.

      I have seen that interview. I’ll
      Rewatch it though. I also follow Melissa.
      I don’t know where to start in the Bible. I know to read it to get to the truths, but the belief system is so ingrained I interpret the scriptures the same way that I was taught when I was growing up. I am really struggling with where to begin first and what I’m looking for, and the entire context of the scriptures not just one vs. here or there. When I think I’ve found something that makes sense, I read the entire chapter or the vs. before and after the scripture I’m focused on, and I realize like, “oh. He’s talking to” or “HE’S referring to..” and “about…” then this has nothing to do with the hope I was coming across that at first, I thought it would make sense, then come to find out, it has nothing to do about the way that one scripture, I was focused on, would read. And sooo.. I gave up lol and I don’t want to, of course- it’s difficult for sure. But just pray for me. And thank you for your kind reply.

I've had these same conversations and initially I was taken aback by the challenge, only to dig a bit deeper into the scriptures and find the very same response that you offered here. What are women better at? Not just having babies. Size and strength are not an advantage for every task. The smaller your hands are, the easier it is to work with tiny objects. There are many qualitative differences between men and women that play out in a huge variety of who does the best job at different things. But there are far more individual differences between humans than there are gender differences. I am autistic and have always struggled with stereotypes that people have tried to force on me about what I should be good at and what I should not be good at. It is best to have few hard and strict rules and more flexibility in letting people use their individual strengths and gifts.

    For the first question, the word “ὁράω” is translated in English as “to see” but it’s transliteration is “horaó”. “Horaó” which means “to see, perceive, attend to”. The usage is “I see, look upon, experience, perceive, discern, beware”. The Word-Study for Horáō is “properly, see, often with metaphorical meaning: "to see with the mind" (i.e. spiritually see), i.e. perceive (with inward spiritual perception).”… “
    so know one has “perceived God” except Jesus. No one has “seen God with the spiritually or with inward spiritual perception” except Jesus. “Contradictions” normally answer themselves when you find the original words used and their meanings. Hope this helps 👍

      The מלאך יהוה (messenger/angel of YHVH) is one of the titles of the preincarnate Jesus, another, which I love, is מלאך פנים (messenger/angel of the face = representation of the face).
      That’s why He can tell Philip, “whoever has seen me has seen the Father,” and tell the Judeans, “Avraham saw my day and rejoiced”, followed by “before Abraham, I Am.”

    • @jaimehancock7048
      @jaimehancock7048 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Hebrew and Greek words translated “angel” do not refer to the type of being, but to a function. Just as when you use the word “butler”, you are not referring to a type of animal, but a job function.
      Especially in the Hebrew Scriptures, מלאך (malach or angel) doesn’t tell you whether the being is a human or a divine being, it only tells you that the person is carrying a message or representing someone else.
      Jacob calls God an angel (messenger/representative) in Genesis 48:16, referring back to his encounter with a man in Genesis 32:25-30.

    Not sure if anyone else commented on Q.7, so here I go. It strikes me that Paul's writings were done after Christ's resurrection, but before the destruction of the 2nd temple, so perhaps his references to the old covenant being "ready to vanish away" was echoing Christ's earlier prophesy that the temple would be torn down(e.g., Mk 13:2).

      Run from Paul. Only Jesus is needed. Do you really think The Father was so disappointed in Jesus’s mission that He needed Paul’s words? If You think yes He must have then where is the prophecy of Pauls coming just a few years after Jesus’s ascension? And why does Paul contradict himself, The Father, Jesus and the apostles?

    • @jaimehancock7048
      @jaimehancock7048 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Paul didn’t write Hebrews, where the discussion of the old covenant passing away is found, but the argument doesn’t depend on who wrote it.
      In the ancient Semitic culture of the biblical world, you couldn’t just implement a new covenant between two parties which were already in a covenant.
      There has to be an agreement by both sides to dissolve the covenant, or a breaking of the terms of the covenant which thereby rendered it invalid.
      In the case of the Sinai covenant, it has been broken, but not all the terms of the covenant had been completed, since it included terms for what happens if the covenant were broken.
      However, just as a divorced man was not allowed to go back to his divorced wife, God could not take Israel back under the Sinai covenant. There had to be a death, which cancelled the covenant, absorbing the curse of breaking the covenant.
      The making of a covenant also required blood.
      In his death, Jesus cancelled the curse of the previous covenant, while inaugurating the new covenant.

    • @humblejoes3263
      @humblejoes3263 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jaimehancock7048 Joey Jim Bob wrote Hebrews. Now does it matter who wrote it? You’re just making up what you want to believe as did Paul. Jesus said He did not come to abolish the Law which is Israels side of the covenant but to perfect it. He then made the law infinitely more difficult in Mathew chapters 5-7 and “uprooted plants” of the law that were not planted by The Father. Namely food laws and circumcision. Then He told us Gentiles, through the Samaritan woman that “salvation is from the Jews.” John 4:21-24. Only Jesus is your teacher and Savior. Everyone else is suspect. Especially the anonymous writer of Hebrews. The apostles were told not to be teachers but messengers pointing to the one and only teacher.

    Earlier I wanted to add interesting little facts that i learned about psalm 22. It's that the wording in original language would actually be "like a lion, my hands and my feet" that doesnt make much sense. Another thing was that this kind of psalms often have this U shaped structure where you first go downhill complaining about things and then reach the bottom/middle part. After that you start to see kind of the answers to those complaints in paralleling order. So in 22 you have paralleling bulls, lions and dogs but paralleling to piercing/like a lion is not a lion but a sword. That should help weighing up those alternatives.

      17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

    I love your consistent application of elders and deacons/ deaconesses. I wish every church used Biblical terms. I do think you could have or should have a deaconess of women’s ministries. I just think women should never or rarely go to a male pastor for counseling or personal problems if other women aren’t present. Too many affairs happen when women go to a male for help and advice on intimate issues.
