    Another good idea..most modern and some old cars have got double cables for opening boots or petrol caps..even my fiat x19 has got a double cable for the boot!well done 👏

      Thanks, you never know what might happen with these older cars!

    Good idea and a nice instruction video. No rocket science here... as is most of the barchetta. Thanks mate!

    As a engineer i would feed it through the return spring hole.... But i looks like it is possible to make a small bracket to a solenoid so you could make a electric boot release as. Backup

      That's a good idea. Might be something for a future episode!

    Bonjour. Avez vous un problème d enroulement des ceintures de sécurité qui ont des difficultés à s enrouler. Toto pour les remplacer ?, merci pour vos vidéos très ludiques 👍👍👍

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oui j'ai le même problème. Je ne suis pas sûre de pouvoir régler ça. Je ferai peut-être une vidéo à ce sujet à l'avenir.

      @PaulieCabs have you tried spraying some silicon spray into the mechanism where the belt retracts into?
      Use a little, and gently pull out the belt a few centimeters at a time, repeat until it starts to work.
      Worked for me, I think the mechanism just dried out over the years and needed lubrication 👍

    Hi! Nice videos? Do you still have it? I had one and got it perfect.. then sold it... I regret it and I'm thinking of buying another. You're getting me interested again. They're great fun and a good future investment (to convince the wife..). Richard

      Hi yes, still have it. Will be making more videos again very soon. They are still quite reasonably priced but it's getting harder to pass the emissions test each year. Can't apply for historic status on mine until it's 30 years old which would get around that.

      @@pauliecabs Ah happy you still have it! It's a little easier here in Italy. Historic status is after 20 years. I have an Alfa Brera now but that is staying for sure. If I do get one be sure to drive down in yours. I'm in north Italy, 30 mins from Turin. Look forward to your new videos!

    14:44 ... and that's the moment you realize the convertible lever might fail too. now you want another backup system for that also. :p

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! That would make a good future episode!

    The boot release lever on mine has snapped below the keyhole and I can't open the boot.
    I've sourced another lever, is it simply a case of undoing the 2 screws, removing it, unattaching the wire behind it, and connecting to the new one and screwing back in?
    Thank you!

      Sorry never done this so can't help. I'm sure there's something on fiatforum about this so you could try there.

    Back in 1996 I simply installed a remote control driven opener together with the doors.

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's an interesting upgrade. I recently saw the kit for doing the remote control but that was just for the doors. It might do for a future episode!

    what diameter of the cable and how many LB Thank you

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've used braided line not nylon. It's 0.50mm and 105lb. If you need a bit more detail it's around 4:50 in the video. Good luck!

    What do you do if the cable for the hood top breaks at the same time? Only joking, Ive just done something very similar on a different car with a choke cable. It never crossed my mind to do this on the B. Something to think about.

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol that would be real bad luck! I think it's just reachable even if your B is that cursed!

  • @arnietwo11
    @arnietwo11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry, but can you not just take off the rear wheelarch liner and pull the release from there ??

    • @pauliecabs
      @pauliecabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the boot release cable runs inside the boot under the black plastic/soundproofing.
