I think we paid the guy $1200 for the skimming gear then sank about another $2500+ in the boat. If I ever get back into editing my videos I'll post a slideshow of photos showing the conversion from my grandpaw's old fishing boat to the "Shrimp Killa" lol. We had to gut it out, it was all wood interior he had built, a lot was rot from sitting up without use for a while as he aged. I welded in new crossmembers to make the floor flat instead of semi-V, installed new diamond plate aluminum floor on top of that, welded everythign to convert the purchased from another boat skimming gear to this boat, also widened it all to fit, and increased the height. Lastly we chose to upgrade a few items then other things were broken. Winches are new, nets were dipped, little things add up. My estimates may be off, if I ever make another video to document it I'll try to be more accurate.
Man check out facebook marketplace with your search area in South Louisiana, you'll find a plethora of available shrimp boats for sale for a great price post Ida and with the horrible prices the shrimp sheds are paying the shrimpers for their catches -lots of people selling their rigs. We just do it to keep our own family's freezers stocked with shrimp.

What's a setup like that cost? Not the boat just the skim gear
