Great Video! Fixing the issue in addition to replacing heat exchanger or furnace is often overlooked!

What is your favorite hvac system for 2023 for a two story home 2200 square feet? Thanks

Excellent video. I have a goodman 3 blinking lights, replaced pressure switch, replaced draft inducer, and made sure vacuum hose was clean. 80%'er and I'm worried there may be a heat exchanger issue. Not getting ignition yet, so I wasn't sure if the computer does some tests of the draft first, which may or may not include heat exchanger issues. I would assume heat exchanger can only be tested when ignition and combustion occurs, though.

Yes, can't really tell if a heat exchanger is bad unless it's running, or you visually inspect it. Those blinking lights are usually some type of code. There is usually a sticker on the inside of one of the doors that has LED error codes. Inducer comes on, which activates the pressure switch, then hot surface ignitor (will glow bright red), then you should hear a click of the gas valve opening. Sounds like you replaced 2 of those. So if it's not firing, it could be gas valve or hot surface ignitor.

@@thplugg yeah the code told me it was a open pressure switch - so I replaced the pressure switch and hose... still 3 blinking lights... so I replaced the draft inducer fan... worked for 24 hours then stopped and still 3 blinking lights. Checked vent, it was clear.

there is a little port where the hose from the pressure switch attaches to the inducer housing. disconnect hose from housing and poke a wire through. they do get plugged from time to time.

@@jaksmithers176 I did that and even replace the whole inducer draft motor and fan.....

Hi, I've been framing for three years and just applied to my local college for the hvac program to acquire a EPA certification before asking my local companies about a job. I'm not a anxious person, but i do get nervous talking to potential employers. I know it's easier to call and ask, but to me it looks better to meet them face to face. Do you have any tips on what I can say or do to stand out as someone a company would want.

Gday brother . I have an old Mitsubishi 12 hp reverse cycle system … it just tripped out tonight .
I reset the fuse , the soft-start worked - the heating came on for about 5 to 10 minutes , The fuses tripped again .
Upon investigation I noticed the over water flow Pipe to the Bucket has not been getting any over flow . I can see the water has been leaking from inside the unit , and out from the ventilation underneath …. Obviously it’s now affecting some electrical components .
Tripping out the independent fuse In Our fuse box .
I have now isolated it , I have run a cable up inside - the outside overflow pipe To make sure it’s clear , it is 👍 .
Do you have any thoughts as too what else ,I could look for . That might cause this kind of problem . All the external pipes and fittings are - copper and brass , There’s No indication of leaks from those . Any thoughts about it would be appreciated . Thanks 👣🦘
Until I can get it looked at . Dose water come out of the system’s overflow pipe on the heating and cooling cycles ?

Please help. HVAC TECH is coming tomorrow. My R-22 1999 Rheem model # rpka-049jaz with scroll compressor was making a squealing sound the day after the severe 13 degrees cold mornin. Immediately I turned it off i noticed that the auxiliary heat kept cycling on before it died.
The last TECH who checked it last year says it was repairable and parts were available. I'm pretty sure the compressor died suddenly. I don't want to invest in a new system because I don't anticipate keeping the house much longer plus the EPA is already holding hearings on banning R-410A so if compressor can't be repaired i was thinking to find a used compatible condensing unit as the air handler in Attic was running fine.
Any advise appreciated this unit is very common in my subdivision of homes built between 1998-2005 im in deep southeast in zone 3 but only 70 miles north of zone 2 bellow the hot humid line
