beautiful shots, man. looks like you're in TX. i lived in austin for over 10 years and found out how to attract hummers to the yard better than a feeder. plant a patch of mexican sunflowers (Tithonia rotundifolia) in a good spot for photography. they are annuals and grow fast from seed and produce tons of bright orange blooms that draw hummers like a magnet. this way you can get shots of them feeding from a natural source, along with the other types of shots.

I don’t like using flash on birds as it may hurt their eyes

Goos ideas for taking photos of some of the cutest/busiest birds ever!! What length of extension tubes do you use?

Thanks! I use a 12mm usually. That gives me the working distance I need.

I was thinking of using LED flashlights 🔦 set up like spot lights so I can use the 3200 shutter and hoped reducing the noise from running the ISO high.
All my freeze motion shots are grainy and I already have 500 portrait shots of them on the branches 🥰

That's a great idea! Let me know how it turns out. I'd love to see them.

the focused beam of LED flashlights can damage animals' (or humans') eyes. it's better to get some powerful LED studio lights and soften them with diffusers

Great video! If you don’t mind me asking, how are you liking the r5? I’m looking to upgrade my 5d mk iv and am still unsure if I want to take the leap to mirrorless. Thanks

It is really an amazing cameras. I was shooting the 1dX camera beforehand and the r5 has so many additional features that makes the task of taking pictures so easy, I've rarely picked up my DSLR's since.

Russell lent me his r5 last spring on an excursion to capture some images of bears. This short experience cost me a lot of money upgrading to the r5 from the 5dmk4. Thanks Russell!
