Joey Ras He was the best Frankie Valley ever since this came out I checked out on Broadway no one touched him he won an award for his performance. No one won since him! The musical they used different people but that was excellent to watch.I'd go again but couldn't afford it.
Madison Gonzalez , I wish I could have been there to see him when he was on Broadway from 2005-2007. I heard he was wonderful. I was only eight and nine years old during the years he was on Broadway. It's a shame I didn't know about it then. :(
I hate to sound like a middle-aged man but I really appreciate the way people used to go out for dinner & entertainment and actually actively sat & listened to the performers! Now everyone would be on their phones either texting or filming something they'll never watch again.
Forget boomer, you sound like an idiot. Tons of folks still go out to a show and give their full attention. Usually if someone takes out their phone it's just for a minute or two to capture the moment, no more.
All these people saying the "horns sound like shit". It's just a variation of the original piece with saxaphones guys. And even if it sounds off bc apparently music to you has to always sound like the *album version* , these are skilled players, and have good intonation and tune. Plus theres a nice variation bit at the end they added in that really breathes life into this old piece.
He sure did and almost ten years later he hasn’t been in anything else. He sure is squeezing the life out of this role because it looks like the only game in town. No such thing as a free lunch.
They should lip sync. It's just so, so bad compared to the original. Also, the genius of the original was the amazing and truly unique arrangement which some fool has decided to trash and replace with this VERY poorly executed knockoff.
I love what they did with the horns in this version but it doesn't have the same kick as the other version. This version works better with the singers voice, very good. I like it but it doesn't make me want jump out of my seat and dance
Was on a cruise several years ago and one night the entertainment was songs from the 4 Seasons. The place was jam packed. Lots of people were willing to stand during the entire show also. We went to the first show of the evening, then went to dinner. Enjoyed the music so much that we decided to go back to the second show. Again, the theater was packed. People were singing along, loving every minute of the performance. Theres just something special about their music.
Maybe we were on the same cruise, as that is where we also saw the stage production of "Jersey Boys". It was an unexpectedly great show and we just loved it!
My 8-year-old grand daughter -- who is musically astute way beyond her years (she listens to Jelly Roll Morton and loves jazz) -- says she gets goose bumps when the horns come in, totally thrilling. We've taken her to Jersey Boys on Broadway three times over 2 years. She knows the lyrics of literally every Four Seasons/Frankie Valli song.

SPOILER ALERT: he didn't write the song and if you're referring to the death of his daughter, that happened thirteen years *after* the song was released. But, killing her off thirteen years earlier makes the song better - I guess.
I watched this scene over a dozen times on HBO Max. The first time I teared up because of the death of his daughter. But I’ve loved this tune forever, and it was great to see it in the context of a movie. Plus that band was so good!!!
That was the movie and song that inspired my husband to perform on our wedding, unforgettable!! When im feeling down or nostalgic, i play this song and all the memories of the day comes, usually with few drops of tears, that moment of so beautiful! love this song!!!!
The first time I watched this, I had no idea what the heck this song was, and as soon as the instrumental came and the curtains came back, I couldn't stop smiling because of how awesome this was, and now I listen to The Four Seasons all the time!
you are very welcome...can't stop lookin at him either. Tony Award winner for best actor in this musical in 06...Clint Eastwood made a wonderful choice for him to star in the movie version!
went to Vegas for my 40th and Jersey Boys was something i'll remember forever. I grew upon my dad listening to Frankie Valli. Never ever fails to make me happy.
I love this man!!! Is there anything he can't do?! His charisma just jumps off of the screen! He's multitalented, handsome, adorable and sings like a "dream come true"!!!💋💋💋
What made this scene so absolutely incredible is the camera work during the first "I Love You Baby" @1:40. Makes this scene and performance just astonishing.

I guess it was a one-off though, since this entire scene was filmed live without lip-syncing. That’s also probably why this arrangement is heard only on the movie, as you can see the musicians actually playing their instruments (drumming, correct stops on trombones, proper fingering on trumpets, etc.) instead of miming.
I'm singing this at my high school rally soon in front of 1,800+ Students... I'm excited. Franki Valli is such a great musician, and 60's -80's music, in my opinion, is so much better than today's auto tune filled "music"... NOTICE I PUT QUOTATIONS AROUND THAT

Isn't he still doing Broadway?? I heard he is
I don't know, I thought he already returned to the "Jersey boys" musical in 2012 for limited time. To be honest, that's all I know.

I wish there were places like that where I could take my babe. Every time I see scenes like this in period movies, I always think that is so cool.
This song made me cry, cause not only because Frankie sang alone, but because at the same time his daughter died.
The song was released 13 years before his daughters died.
Shut the fuck up. You only sayin this cause you watched jersey boys. You don't know shit foh.
The film isn’t historically accurate

What a doll and what a voice. Can never get enough of the movie Jersey Boys. This man is "just too good to be true".
Agree!
Blues Welk go see the play. You will lose it. It is to good to be true.
Indeed. So attractive...
Likewise. Got the DVD after seeing the Jersey Boys at the Sunderland Empire. Still watching it.

I'm a fan of the original song but I'm enamored with this version. John Lloyd did such a great job in this movie
John Lloyd Young is the best singer in the world.

The biggest mistake in the movie soundtrack was they omitted this version and instead just put on the Broadway recording as-is.
