I love this challenge, but one tip I use to get the advantage: Use sensor burst to draw their attention, instead of swooping in range. If you swoop in range, you are closer to the fleet chasing you, and it's harder to evade, but if you burst, they see you briefly, then you skip out of their trajectory and hit the planet. Takes some getting used to, but much safer, and effective i've found, especially when you can nab all of the enemy ships attention at the same time.
I tried but our profile is so small that even with sensor burst it's hard for enemies to see us. I have to get so close that we may not have time for the burn drive to become possible before they catch us.

For what ships to use in the fleet, if there are stealth combat ships that would seem very on theme. A fleet appears out of nowhere, demolishes planets, and then vanishes again.
The only possible ship to keep the theme going is the Doom, Francis. They're an insanely strong ship, they're still a phase ship (keeping in theme with Keyser Söze), and the NAME! Make the Doom Fleet, crush them all!
The system that has the alpha site is in a location that can be accessed even without completing the story line for the Ziggurat using the transverse jump thing. It is the only phase capital ship in the game. You can also order Dooms and have a totally phased combat fleet. Though if you're willing to spend some time to find good weapons and spend a few story points to make a good Ziggurat and pick the right skills, then in the player hands that thing can solo an entire remnant ordo including a Tesseract with a few Dooms
Unfortunately "As the Ziggurat is a unique, distinctive ship, while it is in the player fleet other fleets will always recognize the player even with the Transponder disabled." It's a bit to recognizable.
I just read that once a planet becomes fully decivilized, you can scout the planet and there will be ruins, that can be looted. Worth considering for those... toppled colonies!
You can put a relic or AI core on any industry so long as the construction is started; you don't have to wait until completion. Just depart from the planet and redock to enable installation!
There's a comm buoy providing +2 stability in most of those systems. Wouldn't it be easier to take out that comm buoy, then do the raids? Would reduce the number of soldiers you lose on the first raid.
Taking out the comm bouy sets you directly to war with the faction that owned it. While his personal fleet isn't in too much danger, it hits the accessibility of his colonies and therefore his pocket book. Still, his raiding eventually does the same, so you're right that it would probably be a net benefit.
I don't like to destroy Domain era stuff, you can't replace it. I know I will most likely never use that bouy but it just feels wrong to remove that option forever when we don't have to.
Hey Francis! Love the content. Had never heard of this game til you played but it’s a blast to watch! Looking forward to some more oni content perhaps 😮. Have a good day brother!

Honestly I can’t wait for next episode where we will stop carrying out the current “no witness” rule but instead start to execute the new “No Witness” rule
its probably impractical against the smaller places, but for any large fleet battles you should use a ton of luddic IED ships just to flex on them. "Oh, you need some antimatter? You never said it needed to be stable!"
0:40 Tried to conquer Chicomoztoc (Heg capitol) while using the Nexerelin mod, which allows conquering planets. They rebelled themselves right into decivilizing. Woops; there goes the only size 8 planet in the sector! (100mil+ pop)
We nees decivilizate whole univerce! And just sit on throne on top of burning galaxy and watch how its fade knowing thats no one knows who started that event.
The Academy worked so hard to get gates back up only to see the core worlds decivilized for lack of fuel. On the plus side Pirates and the Pathers couldn't raid.
Suggestion: Reduce the stability of all planets in each of those systems permanently by destroying them their +stability satellites, or temporarily by taking them over. Either reduces their defenses too. Also first buying all those planet's first for your own stockpiles. Especially if the satellites are offline as their decreased accessibly can result in surpluses.
I see, this is a great analogy for OPEC and monopolies. Self sufficiency and protection of critical industries are a national security priority, first of all our dependence on this stuff is regrettable. Wasting it is even more sad, everybody is paying huge amounts for products and goods that depend on fuel and nearly everything needs fuel for one part of their process or another. All that money goes into the pockets of few people who are currently desperately trying to make it seem like they are giving back to society with their buybacks but yeah they basically were the only supplier in a market where any potential competition joins their cartel. It is what it is, now that it is done we can only hope they use the money for the betterment of society/the larger group instead of using it to only enrich their own live and the lives of their friends and family. Them funding a army to forcefully bust down the doors and start decivilizing society would be the opposite of that but well it's just a game right.
I say stealth ships :p they're not that great to use for the whole fleet without mods, tho. btw, you never noticed that that the phase ship skill actually boosts your stealth? it increases sensor strength of said ships which in turn reduces your sensor signature.
Francis, buying all those marines is why you are always losing so many; marine skill is an average of all marines you have. Veterans have a 100% strength bonus and -50% casualty cap. What you're doing is basically the Starship Troopers style of ground army; hire all the greenhorns you can find and throw them at the problem until they succeed.
The only way to get large numbers of veteran marines that I know of is to buy a truly silly amount to start with and attrite them down as you level them. The event that lets you buy 50-ish max exp Marines is too rare to count on.
I figured after we used them enough they would level up. But the missions were so dangerous that the losses counteracted the exp gain. If I tried to put the recruits in storage we were left with about 500 professional marines.
@@FrancisJohnYT What you needed to do was always send all marines on mission, and split them up so you're always hitting other targets with lower difficulty where possible to draw away defenses. It drastically reduces effectiveness to just hit a single node.
